I really don't understand Lilliana's motives. Why is she doing what she is currently doing? I don't think it is purely out of guilt or obligation, since those justifications would be very weak compared to what her current sins are. I really do hope they have an excellent explaination for her sudden change to the dark side.

Oh the irony. Exile vs. Exile. The very same ships that were originally used to bring some sort of salvation to humanity is used to destroy it, against itself no less. Luscinia and Liliana's scorched earth tactic makes you question whether they have any plans to have certain lands even become inhabitable. What you can't conquer, you burn to the ground. Makes you wonder if this ethnic cleansing is really for the good of the world, for a now misguided promise, or for revenge.
History repeats itself I guess. One thing I wonder though is who the Glacies Exile controller is. I actually thought it was Dyan for a moment, but they wouldn't let her put herself in danger so it must be someone else. Even more reality should hit Fam now that two Exiles must tussle, and Kartoffel itself is in danger. At some point I'd think that even Alvis will be forced to put Anatoray-Disith's Exile to a use she never ever intended, even in the first series. Blog post later.

They don't have pin-point laser-guided precision bombing like we do today. They are using standard WWII bombing tactics. The Glacies ground defense network looked quite extensive, so they really had no choice but to carpet bomb to make sure they get them all. Besides, they didn't start bombing until AFTER Glacies opened up on them (probably to make sure they're targeting the right coordinates).

In exile, technology has been thrown back considerably into the past, and the population is both sparse and scattered. How on earth are they producing these massive fleets, with each ship roughly the size of an aircraft carrier? Even today, most countries are lucky to have one of those, if that. To see the sky filled with them as if they were a swarm of gnats is just wrong. When the first Ades ships were shown, with their ridiculous stadium sized bridges, it was already a stretch of the imagination. If there were only a handful of ships like that or one Sylvius, that might be understandable. However, the sheer number of these ships that Luscinia can pull from his ass far exceed the boundaries of absurdity, even by GSD standards. The little dashes of weapons fire animation repeated ad nauseam are also strongly reminiscent, and make the episode more tiring than epic. For the most part, I love the characters and story, but this endless escalation into the absurd just makes me want to do a facepalm. I want to see more character interaction and less beam spam, and hope that this doesn't continue. |

I found it telling that Luscinia doesn't call anything connected to the Guild as it is, and refers to it instead as the "White Legacy". This is strange, when one considers that, in the past, both he and Alauda were clearly Guildsmen. I wonder this is a conscious decision on both of their parts (Alauda says the same once he finds the abandoned Guild base), separating themselves from the organization their originated with after they embraced the previous Augusta's will?
In any case, I think there's a reason why we're not shown the Key for Glacies' exile (nominal importance increases survivability if going by the common rules of narrative, unless you're R.L. Martin), which bodes ill for the country's survival next episode... Quote:
Here we have a whole planet, which has played host to a wave of immigrants for the last four hundred or so years at least, not to mention a thriving population filled with the people who stayed behind. Despite what Luscinia says, I think he's overplaying the 'there's not enough resources for everyone!' angle he's using to aggressively attack Ades' neighbors. Maybe Ades has had some resource problems in the past (note how pock-marked the landscape of the Ades capital and some of the areas visited by Fam and her friends, which seem to me to be evidence of deep-mining), with the annexation of its neighbors, well, it's not that much of a problem anymore.

Lol Glacias is not an all female society anymore. They did a good job against the provincial fleets but were no match for the new anti-vanship weapons. Hope Dian is still alive. So Glacias' Exile is like a giant wall, kinda of cool, but i thought all the exiles were in the sky? Also wonder who the key is if it isn't Dian.
Nice that Fam was able to meet up with Dian, even the warning proved useless. So now the reality of the war has hit them since Kartoffel might be in trouble. Millia was even more upset after seeing the Turan Exile head towards Glacias. I think its kind of funny that it will be an Exile versus Exile showdown. Lilliana certainly has now qualms about using it against since her hands are already soiled, but still don't see the reason behind her doings. Unless it has to do with Luscinia's real plan whatever it may be.

Whoever designed these Exiles should have made them unable to attack each other. Kind of defeats the purpose if two groups of settlers can mutually annihilate just like that...
Oh, and Glacies men hiding behind women's backs is certainly amusing. They are probably the last ones on existance. |

On a lighter note...
Fam: Wait! Thank you! Dian: What's with this girl? I can't understand what she's saying... Scary. Dian: ... Don't tell me?! Dian's imagination: I LOVE YOU! Note in Box: Not true. Dian: *kisses* Milia: Oh no! Giselle: Fam?!

Interesting that we haven't seen any young Glacien men (aside from, possibly, one of the masked couriers in the command room). On a cursory viewing, they all seem to be middle-aged and up.
