For that last note, Tabane denied she did it. And the novel version, there's no "Do not enter" sign at all, instead, it was the examiner who are is dumb as fuck not even checking the entries...
"Ai-Esu", which is part of Ichika's mistake (or probably, he asked wrong person), his target school are "Ao-etsu". Either way, it's all because of bad pun.

Apparently Tabane did engineer for that specific IS to react, she just didn't do it when Ichika was forced to try another unit. I wonder how the story could have gone if Ichika never went there. Probably ends up with Ran or something.
Side note - How did Tabane know Ichika would go there by accident? Did she see the future or something?

@ Senpai - She said that if she did that, then it means Ichika couldn't pilot. She rigged the one in the room, but she's just as confused as them when he activated the unrigged suit. She aid she would get tired of it, but she doesn't have to do it cause he can pilot anyway.
@ Demi - Don't wanna.

@ Senpai -
Step 1: Rig the suit. Step 2: Ichika gets a reaction. Step 3: He gets put to IS academy and pairs p with Houki. Step 4: Profit. Presumably she would've kept making reactions to units while he was in ISA, but get tired of it. Thankfully for her, Ichika managed to get a reaction on his own when they took him to the training unit and he activated it on his own.

What do you mean? Ichika's shift didn't change his IS that much apart from color and unfolding the wings. Essentially, it can't change into something it wasn't built for. You can't have the Byakushiki turn to machinegunner with a sniper rifle.

I guess it felt odd to me. In the novel 2nd shift wasn't foreseen and Setsura had to undergo testing to determine its abilities. So 2nd shift is an evolution in a sense that Byakushiki became somewhat new.
However Yukihira was already planned right from the start. But Yukihira is only available to first shift and not factory settings. What does this mean? As a shift, doesn't that imply evolution as well? or even birth since its the first. How would they know that whatever they installed in the factory settings would stay the same when it undergoes first shift? Is first shift only something like the core getting used to the frame? |

In mine, it was treated depending on the result, it can go beyond what actually intended and thus treated as mutation (ByakuShiki), while some got lucky that the second shift only reinforce what exist and doesn't straying from the original concept and thus regarded as evolution (Silver Gospel).
And thus Setsura is way beyond Tabane's prediction.
