Nanatsu no Taizai: Wrath of the Gods
A new key visual appeared for the next Nanatsu no Taizai anime, titled "Wrath of the Gods". Seems like we're getting a new project for the franchise. http://moetron.net/post/184055746900...the-gods-anime Edit: it's confirmed as a new Fall TV show. https://www.animenewsnetwork.com/new...studio/.145546

Boo, not a good first episode. Should just stay faithful to the manga, and if they are gonna change things up a bit I hope they at least do it right.
The part where Ban assured Meliodas nothing will change between them was much better in the manga. I'll need some time to get used to the new art/designs.

I didn't mind the art or the focus of the first episode. Mostly easing people back into the setting is alright. And things are moving forward like with Howzer getting that major promotion.
But I can't say I liked that there was minor censorship. Can you imagine S1 being handled like this? Ban gets half his body blown away and...white blood spills out. Or he's grabbing the red demon heart in his flashback and it is this pure black blob. It's not the worst thing they could have done. Most definitely they could have censored much harder. It's just too bad they are doing it at all. Probably a very minor complaint here. But didn't love Meliodas doing a full counter on multiple attacks...without using physical clone.

One thing I noticed was the scene with the kid attacking the demon to save the sacrifices and he was alone - suddenly all the villagers were there. Poor studio editing. The episode seemed to be pieced together poorly.

And this week it seems blood is back...what the heck was the first episode then? I mean the visuals are still a bit of a step down, but it wasn't a bad second episode. They did a pretty decent job setting things up and taking off with this flashback arc.
Regardless here we go. Right into this kind of flashback arc, and yet not really. Since King and Diane will actually be participating in this. I guess we'll see just how King and Diane manage to get stronger. They most definitely needed a power-up though. Of course that goes for most of the Sins besides Meliodas and Escanor. Merlin is kind of a weird one that can be one-shotted or one-shot others so maybe she's more in the camp with those two.

I binged the previous seasons in a week. Its not a bad series, quite immersive and entertaining though very cliche and predictable and the characters are cardboard. I think ill wait until season 3 is almost concluded to continue watching. It dont think i'd enjoy it as much if i had to wait for this every week.

Ok, I got into that episode. Certainly easy to take away from this that both the demons and goddess clan suck. Terrible acts on all sides. Though no doubt this flashback is in part to establish how terrible the Goddess Clan is. Just going around murdering hostages, ambushes, and being insufferably arrogant. It is a sad thing when I get that much joy at seeing the Archangels getting knocked around by the Induras.
Ready to see how Elizabeth handles herself. Hopefully not just trying to talk down her opponent. And no shock that Meliodas was ready to let himself go through hell to pull Elizabeth from that barrier. Wouldn't have minded a bit more focus on either his self-heal or her healing him after. If nothing else the flashback arc is entertaining.

I really wished the fight between Meliodas and the Archangels actually happened. But I guess it would have been bad if the newly introduced powerhouses got stomped again just after the Indura beating
It was really satisfying to see Ludociel get denied like a bitch by everyone, even his fellow Archangels . Sariel and Tarmiel do have some redeeming qualities after all(not just talking about them as persons, but as characters as well. Much more interesting than Ludociel). Also Ludociel mentioned Mael and Supreme Deity already, those two weren't introduced at this point in the manga iirc. Original Gowther was cool.

It is kind of funny how blood works in this season. You cut someone and 'white' pours out of them, but then the sword has red blood on it. Maybe it's kind of like that repair stuff that goes on pink and dries white, just in reverse .
Some good moments. Was nice to see Elizabeth stepping up and handling the Indura situation. Although it does cause them some grief in the future. It was a nice chance to show her power and charisma. She effectively got half the Archangels to side with her over Lucodiel's orders. The situation is getting pretty extreme. We got genocidal humans (nothing new there) and the whole Gowther situation. It does make some sense since Gowther was a puppet/doll that his creator was the original Gowther who was really part of the 10 Commandments. Although I guess you can say Gowther that we know was also part of that group since he was acting as proxy to that original version.

Lol. Gloxinia is a funny guy. Seeing Gowther crying like a baby hit me in the feels, that's a totally different side of him. It'll be a long time but he will meet his friends. Original Gowther became one of the most interesting characters to me with such short screen time. Zeldris entrance in the end was epic. You can feel from his presence that he's different from the other commandments.
