This episode was kind of boring, Morgiana doesn't do a very good job at holding up the story on her own IMO.

This is true. Mor is at her best when she's used with conjunction with Alibaba and Alladin, especially during the current phase in the manga.

I disagree. Her internal conflict is interesting enough and coupled with her ass-kicking skills it makes for an extremely enjoyable episode imo.

I agree. Thought the focus on her past was well done and a good idea. It was just good to have the full focus on her for an episode. Plus watching her just kick serious ass didn't hurt at all.

Is it weird that during the entire scene of Morgiana freeing herself from her shackles, I imagined the Hulk's voice from UMvC 3 just yelling Smash everytime she punched and kicked noobs around? Hell, the moves she pulled, I was about to call her move set Maximum Morgiana.

If Morgiana at her young age is so powerful, a fully trained well nulnorished adult of her clan must be like a demi god or something. Protecting their own children doesn't seems to be a strong trait of theirs though.

I love Mor but I have to agree that she's more suited to a be a "Scottie Pippen" than a MJ. But still this was obviously needed for her character.

As for production issues, well duckroll knows best! Ask him.

You should at least read the first 2 volumes of the manga for much better introduction to Magi. The last 3 episodes have been a superior adaptation of the manga, even though it's still going at a blistering pace.

They did cut a lot out to make the villains just be villains though.

In the manga, both Jamil and Fatima had a short explanation of why they became so twisted.
They were still evil, but did give some light into why they had become what they were.

Spoiler:

Both of these tidbits were omitted from the anime, most likely for pacing issues, but probably also to simplify the villains.

But Ryosai never got these treatment.
The warmonger was just a prick and a bastard. No SOB STORY attached.

Morgiana was very cool and I've liked the episode. As for ep 7 preview; here he comes, the womanizer Sindbad, and probably without clothes. :P

I'm with Kazu-kun. Morgiana was more than able to support an episode herself. Her internal voyage from slave to free has been interesting enough so far. Her quest for her homeland, and whether or not it goes ahead. Her true nature. Her relationships with her friends (two pairs). Her voicing by Tomatsu Haruka. And those massive legs...

Regarding the spoiler about Jamil's background: There are flashes of his "teacher" during one of his rants, though as you say they don't go into that with any depth. Blink and you'll miss it.

Anyways great Morgiana episode with some scenes that hinted the first chapter of the manga did take place in the anime.

I'm gonna call Morgiana 'Shadow Skill' if she keeps this up...

The way her legs tense up before she blasts off reminds me of Elle Ragu's thing. I keep hoping that Morgiana will begin a fight with these words:

"I am Invincible! My Shadow Skills... are Unmatched! The power of my blow. HAS. NO. EQUAL!"

If we get more fights with her, I'll overdub that with Morgiana....XD

Spoiler: Fatima's past as a slave himself, who became free by killing his master and taking his place, shows why he expected the same cycle to befall himself. Jamil's flashback showed the creepy mysterious "teacher" molding him into a monster from young age, and you could see how at first an innocent child, Jamil's sanity slipped away, tainted by the "teacher". We'll get to see the greater evil the "teacher" is associated with soon. Both of these tidbits were omitted from the anime, most likely for pacing issues, but probably also to simplify the villains.
