It does look more caliginous than the previous Casshern's that there has been, series and OAV, I guess we can attribute that to the title "Casshern Sins." However, he is only shown in battle in the Promo Video and Teaser, so it might not look like that entirely. It looks great though, the visuals, colors and animation look very good. This is something to look forward to, for fans of the original and new fans as well.

And we finally have an airdate. The show will air late night Mondays at 25:30 (or very early Tuesday mornings, if you choose to look at it that way), starting October 1.

I'm looking forward to this show. Since it'll be a late showing do you think it'll be more violent?

There was a preview showing of the first episode during Otakon this year. I have never seen it, but I heard that it's more dark and violent compared to the original series.

Story summary taken from Wikipedia:
Quote:
Created as a series reboot of the franchise, Casshern Sins tells the story of a world where robots subjugated humanity after becoming self-aware. Their leader, Braiking Boss, rules over the world with an iron fist. One day, a mysterious girl named Luna is summoned by the people for salvation of mankind. Fearing that she can be a potential threat, Braiking sends three of his most powerful cyborg warriors to dispose of Luna: Casshern, Dio and Reda. Casshern, the strongest warrior, manages to track down and kill Luna. This triggers a cataclysmic event which brings about the end of the world. Hundreds of years later, the world's atmosphere now filled with poison, humanity is in danger of extinction, both from the robots and the environment. Robots do not fare well either, as they constantly replace their body parts, fearing death as much as humans do: the corrosion of their bodies from rust, due to the poisonous environment. In this wretched time and place, Casshern, after disappearing since his murder of Luna, returns with no memory of who he is. As he embarks on a journey to find out the truth about himself, he defends the humans against the robots.
So 3 things different from the original anime and live-action movie:
1. Luna is some sort of a god-like being who takes on the form of a human girl.
2. Casshern and Luna are not lovers and do not know each other in the beginning.
3. Casshern is originally a bad guy who's the strongest warrior of Braiking Boss, kills Luna by order from Braiking, and later disappears after the world destruction. He reappears, with loss of memory, and then fights on the side of good.

Oh wow, yeah, that's a really different base for the story. I'm kind of shocked to read that.

But this variant is really interesting. As for premiere date - it should be 03.10.2008.

The plot is definitely different and more dusky, I guess that is were the Sins comes into the title and plays into the plot. Not a revamp, but still looks very nice and with this new approach it looks to be something nice and original. Should be good, especially if it maintains the quality of animation and has good story progression.

madhouse can muster some good looking stuff when they want to, and Umakoshi is a keeper, should look fine.

Here's hoping this won't turn out to be as esoteric as Skullman in the end.

It's been released on DVD in the US and UK --- you shouldn't have any problems finding it.

No luck in finding it so far
Oh well, I shall be patient xD Hehe.

But I can't wait to watch the anime *_* I have a feeling I'll be tempted to watch it RAW even xD Haha.

By the way, is Lyuze in the original series? I mean the old anime version? If yes, aside from being a hunter and having some grudge on Casshern . . . any other stuff about her?

Speaking of Lyuze, I have mistaken her for a guy when I saw her from the trailer ^^; Ehehe.

Luna got my interest. I'm fond of mysterious immortal girls xD I wonder what her personality's like =3 Anything else about her from the original series? ^^;

I like Luna at first impression, but her character design's pretty weird for me though x_X Especially the eyes O_o

But Casshern's eyes are pretty xD He looks cool without his mask/helmet too *_* Oh I am beginning to become impatient for so much excitement xD Haha!

It's only aired like an hour ago. No raws are even out yet, but you can find some screenshots if you know where to look.

Shinsen and Umai both announced that they planned to sub this.
