All we know is that Kumagawa loved her and killed her, that says nothing about her relationship with Zenkichi, or even whether she knew about or reciprocated Kumagawa's feelings. For all we know what Kumagawa said was a lie and that he killed her because she and Zenkichi were getting a bit too close.

Still find it extremely crazy that thinking his reflection in her eyes was the reason he was falling for her. Then he rips off her face to check to see if he was right or not.

Now I wonder if the reason he doesn't like going back is because he see the Ajimu that he ripped the face off of.

Well he did pretty much say he honestly loved her so he probably feels guilty about ripping her face off hence why he dislikes seeing her. Anyway like I said in my editted post I find it unlikely that, that was his actual reason for doing it, the author has to him somewhat sympathetic when he eventually reveals his past and motives and that kinda kills all sympathy.

I'd prefer him to just be a villain without anything "making him evil". The whole "everyone is good deep down until something horrible happens to them" has been beaten to death in these types of manga (this one seems to be trying to make it's own trope on it) so I'd prefer him to just be evil because well, he's evil. And if there IS some reason behind his evil, don't let him suddenly come around and get redeemed. It takes a lot away from villains if they all do heel face turns.

Kumagawa falling in love, if true, would be interesting. It's possibly Ajimu's power, the ability to "see through people's eyes", which probably let her understand them better that let her get under Kumagawa's skin. Zen is a perfect recipient of this power, I think, as he has been shown to draw others to him.

As for the chat about "trolling" between Hitomi and Kumagawa, whether she's trying unnerve him or not, acting so calm in the face of her child's imminent death (again) is quite odd.

Mukae's "GREEN THUMB" makes a forest of evil trees that Zenkichi is somehow able to defend against.

Weird vision that lets you see through your opponent's eyes, which apparently was originally Ajimu's Abnormality. Which she has now, either temporarily or permanently, given to Zenkichi. Kumagawa is crying, Medaka is crying, Zenkichi can't remember her . Why the hell is he the only one who can't remember her? There's a gap here that I can't wait to see bridged.I can't wait to find out where Zenkichi's part in The Ajimu/Kumagawa/Medaka conflict is.

What I mean is ... if Zen has seen the scene when she dies because of Kumagawa and could not do anything to prevent it, this would make a great mental trauma to him, especially knowing the character of Zen ... if we add what is happened shortly after with Medaka and her first Perses Mode, I am not surprised that Zen cant remember the girl. I've been going back over some of the previous chapters to try and paint a mental picture of this whole Medaka/Ajimu/Misogi situation.

We all know this started in Middle School. With Misogi killing Ajimu, Medaka attacking him and forcing him to leave school, and realizing that she can't help everyone. Which makes Zenkichi promise to keep anyone like that away from her.

That's what we know. But now we have a bit more info that I'm not sure what to do with.

Misogi keeps calling Ajimu Zenkichi's girlfriend. I can't remember which one, but I remember there was a chapter where it was said that Zenkichi and Medaka grew apart in Middle School. And we know that Ajimu and Medaka were friends. For all we know Zenkichi has nothing to do with it. Medaka and Misogi remember Ajimu, but why can't Zenkichi?

There's a chunk missing from this story and it involves Zenkichi. I just can't wrap my mind around how he fits into this.

But if I remember correctly during Arakune accident Zen intervened and told Arakune that someone had warned him that mistreated his childhood friend (medaka).
I am beginning to think that Ajimu was the person who tell him about this.

Apparently, Ajimu Najimi was kumagawa's vice president before he ripped her face off(!?). She "borrowed" those eyes to Hitoyoshi back when he died after the spider pit.

Interesting so Zen's vision is just a loan. ... too bad that this does not explain the relationship of Zen with Ajumi. Up to now we know ... and medaka Ajumi were best friends. Ajumi was the vice president and Kumagawa kumagawa was in love with her (if he ever told the truth) But when we come to Zen and Ajumi report is a complete mystery .. Kumagawa continues to refer to her as Zen Zen girlfriend but does not remember anything her.
The only thing sure they had some kind of relationship , especially if we look at Kumagawa reactions when Zen resuscitated with is vision functioning and the last raw just when he saw Zen's eyes .
I hope the next chapter will give us some information about this.

Kumagawa being Student Council president was mentioned in the flashback about Akune, I believe. As for Ajimi being Zenkichi's past girlfriend, did the later instances confirm this definitely or are we still looking at a tentative translation for a use of the word 'kanojou'?

Apparently so, I guy on another forum was summarizing some things for people who didn't understand what was going on.

Ajimu Najimi basically gave Hitoyoshi her abnormality, which is to perceive things through another person's eyes, when she restored his eyesight when Kumagawa made his eyesight into 'nothingness.' Its also hinted that Kumagawa had some form of affection for Ajimu or maybe he feels guilty. Also Medaka seems like she has amnesia like Hitoyoshi regarding the Ajimu incident.

Now this is just my inference on the whole situation, so I could be wrong.

Kumagawa was the president back in Medaka, Hitoysohi, and Akune's Junior high school, while Ajimu was the vice president. Medaka and Ajimu were relatively close, while at this time Hitoyoshi and Medaka were a bit distant at this time. Since Kumagawa repeatedly calls Ajimu Hitoyoshi's girlfriend, we can assume they were close. It's possibly due to Ajimu's power, the ability to "see through people's eyes", that got under Kumagawa's skin. Thinking that his reflection in her eyes was the reason he was falling for her, he then precedes to ripping off her face to check to see if he was right or wrong. Hitoyoshi probably saw this all happen and mentally collapsed, while Medaka goes into Perses mode and beats the crap out of Kumagawa.

P.S. I don't whether its permanent or temporarily that Ajimu gave her abnormality to Hitoyoshi. It's never explicitly stated whether Ajimu is dead or not, she might be in a comatose state for all we know. As for the dialogue between Hitomi and Kumagawa, whether she's trying unnerve him or not, acting so calm in the face of her child's imminent death again is quite odd. She probably has a secret agenda like Naze implied in chapter 79, Hitomi is a shrewd woman. I wonder what Hitoyoshi's dad is like....?

I just wish Medaka Box was release on a weekly basis.

I still appreciate CxC for at least giving us bunch chapters every blue moon though.

Strange you mising this in the manga, kumagawa refer to her as Zen's girlfriend 2 time a least .
The first time was in chapter 71(after Zen is is resurrected Kumagawa asks Zen how his was see is girlfriend again) and the second in chapter 79 and the second time when he speaking with Emukae to tell her that he wants a tie.
to think of it the first time that Zne saw Ajum in that class (after he died) he has a strange reaction, I do not recall ever seeing him with that face throughout the manga.

This is a surprise I did not think that medaka had an amnesia about that incident as well, I wonder if it was the same Ajumi seal the memories of Zen and Medaka to protect them.
Or if was Kumagawa while his all fiction was activated for the first time.
