So is this actually the last chapter? Or is this just the latest chapter? I'm assuming the former given the nature of this chapter, but you never know when they'll pull in a full epilogue chapter...

I don't have it myself, but it is the final chapter. I stumbled upon the info on a Japanese blog while looking for stuff on the newest Highschool of the Dead chapter.

I am curious about Kenta's mom though...does she ever find happiness in the manga? I felt bad for her during the anime since she had the worst streak of luck. Hopefully the author didn't just forget about her...

Ironically, I'm listening to the full anime OP/ED as I write this...JC Staff should make a second season.

They should show up on Japanese P2P in a week or two. That's how I get decent quality scans for RAWs (scanning them myself, the scans look like crap, lol).

the girl is actually their daughter 歌音 (Kanon?) who left the house early for club activities and saw a female wearing black clothes and having a black umbrella.

I don't think it was said she couldn't have kids. I think they said that the kids just wouldn't turn out right.
(Since Tachibana is a human/vampire hybrid, which means humans and vampires can have children, it's just that the children can't reproduce)

Yeah, forgot to mention, on very rare occasions Mules can be fertile.

And you know, there's absolutely no correlation biologically between what happens between Donkeys and Horses and other species.

Good grief people we're talking about a fantasy story here. Vampires and Humans may be able to interbreed quite happily. The results being "not right" can be interpreted multiple ways (I guess I'll have to take a look myself).

Getting back on track, volume 7 was released by Tokyopop, and it seems my earlier question about Kenta's mom was mostly addressed here.

After all the misfortune she was put through, Kenta's mom certainly showed a lot of strength in this volume, especially with the sudden arrival of Kenta's dad. Even after his dad revealed that he had been dating another woman and got her pregnant, his mom carried herself pretty well. Definitely a far cry from the sorrowful person she was at the beginning of the series.

Hopefully she and that zany detective actually hook up later

BTW, the omakes with the author are HILARIOUS. Editor + ecchi = win

Actually it seems that the same thing happens with Bison and cattle. Although I doubt if enough interspieces mating other that donkey-horse and bison-cow has happened to say if it is universally true.

It's fairly common because interspecies mating often produces an animal with an odd number of chromosomes.

Oh my God... I just read the last chapter of Karin for myself... T_T

Oh God... that was just too sad.

I mean, yes, she ends up with Kenta and has a daughter with him, but... the memories of her family are completely erased by her own family because they want her to live completely as a human with no worries and be happy.

Even so, Kenta still remembers her family (because he's past the point where his memory can be erased), but he can't tell her about them. That just sucks.

( Oh yeah, and I found it really funny that Ren got Bridget (that one vampire girl that drilled a hole through Kenta's hand) pregnant and now his playboy days are officially over. XD )

Overall, a bittersweet ending.

She no longer has any vampiric impulses or nosebleeds and she's pretty much completely human now except for her lineage, so no worries about those things now (Kenta kissing her in Vol. 12 is what cured her, oddly enough).

Ah man... it's over. D:

But I think I'll read the English translations so I can enjoy it more!

Ren is the one who erases her memory (he asked her "What are you going to do now?" after she graduated high school, and she said, "I'm going to stay here with the family." Of course, her family does not want this at all, and ever since she stopped being a vampire, they've planned that the day she graduates, they will erase her memory).

Her family still remembers her and still watch over her, though.

Kenta also still remembers her family, but can never tell Karin about them.

Karin is the only one who loses her memories.
