I wonder with Vivi turning Chaika, and the blue Chaika have any connection?
Like since this is written by the same author of Scrapped Princess. All these girls have the latent potential to be Chaikas. But there can only be X number at the same time, so when blue Chaika died, it opened up a spot, and whoever got triggered next will take her spot.

1) It's interesting to think that just as there are multiple Chaikas, so too could multiple Guys exist.
Presuming the Guys saved Gilette, I wonder why save him. Guess we'll have to wait for Season 2. 2)I wonder if there ever was a real Vivi, or if Vivi was just a false persona for this new Chaika, which broke when she thought Gilette died. |

Good ending.
Ricardo is finally dead and so is Layla. Totally did not expect Viivi turning into Chaika. White hair, purple eyes, supposedly thick eyebrows. Yup, that's a sign over there. Toru and Chaika kissed! Woohoo! Toru was going to kiss her again until Akari interrupted. I don't believe that Gilette is dead either. Because thats kinda cheap. Plus if he's really dead, where's his corpse? That laser attack isn't powerful enough to vaporize anyone as there were still corpses laying around. Must not forget about Frederica, I'm also glad that she's alive and okay. I feel bad about those girls who where captive and carved. Not a single one was saved. Oh well...

Off to become a dragon cavalier? The most obvious foreshadowing I ever heard. |

That won't turn your eyes purple at the same time, though. Also, speaking naturally, once hair has grown from the scalp a particular color, it stays that color (unless you dye it or whatever, of course). Even if all further hair that is grown would be white, hair already grown would not change color.

So much just happened in this episode. Vivi became a Chaika out of rage. Gilette disappeared. Frederica got an even more chibi form. The fact that Toru may become a Dragon Cavalier intrigues me. I am assuming that the old man with the third eye in the promo picture for the second season is Emperor Gaz? Personally, as someone who is coming into this as an anime-only person, I find this series to be pretty good as a stand-alone. All of these disconnected thoughts.

Great episode as expected. Liked a lot how each character in the main cast managed to solve their personal duels (Toru defeats Ricardo, Chaika knocks out Layla, Akari crushes Grad's head and Fredrika using her dragoon firepower to mow those spider monsters).
That scene where Chaika saves Toru, packed with kiss and almost another one, was pure gold. OTP was delivered so hard. And the anime is only halfway done. Vivi's transformation was quite the twist, so far all the Chaikas were introduced as unique characters but was not expecting a known side cast member to become one as well. Gillette is most likely alive but I wonder if Layla survived too..off-screen death in anime usually is not definitive. All in all very nice first half with likable cast, decent storyline and good action. October is so far away. |

"My greatest weakness is when my brain gets damaged, I can regenerate any damage to my body but not my brain."
gets stabbed in the brain.. "just kidding! I can totally have a chibi version of me burst out of my chest. I can't really die" once again, why point out that the only way to kill a dragoon was to target it on the head, and when the enemy does exactly that, she survives? but I did enjoy the ride, and I don't mind the s2 announcement. Now if only every other good series this season had an s2 too..

Spoiler for Episode 12:
With that said, a great finale to the first half... I can't wait for the second this Fall! Oh well, might as well watch Scrapped Princess for the time being. |

You know we actually do not know if the Guy copies are "clones" per se, like the Chaikas, having physical bodies. For all we know they could be something else....

she did say that she learned to do that after she was defeated, and I thought it was when those creepy crawly things stabbed her.
if it was before that then there's no issue and I stand corrected
