Spoiler for Covers:
I picked up cases 14,15 and 16 and Fragment of a Miracle. 15th case's front and back cover has Natsumi, but no Natsumi within. The stories of 14 and 16 with Natsumi are duplicated in fragment Of A miracle (seems to be a Best of book). So out of 4 books, only two new Natsumi stories XD Fragment only had one umineko story Fragment though opens with the continuation of Tsumihoroboshi-hen, just after the roof incident. I hope someone can tell me of any other comic that might have Natsumi XD How do you scan these thick books without wrecking them too much

Hand scanners are small scanners that allow you to physically move the scanner yourself (about $100). Powerful high-res scanners (like the ones I have access to) can scan the image well enough just by keeping the books pressed down firmly. From there, it's just a matter of using Photoshop/Gimp to make the individual page edges seem clean and uniform for general consumption.

Would anyone here happen to know where to purchase magazines like Gan Gan Joker (other then Amazon Japan, preferably somewhere cheaper to ship to the States...)? I really want the new Higurashi and Umineko postcard set that comes with the newest issue. The Kinokuniya near my place only carries GFantasy.

I love the crossovers. Thank you for letting me know!
I actually just found out San Francisco Kinokuniya does special orders to Japan and have the magazines shipped to their store... it may be a little cheaper. I'm probably going to check if they'll be able to ship to a store that's much more close by. |

this is the cover of the first volume of Higurashi no Naku Koro ni Jan, a spin off in which club members play Mahjong or something
