(L) Shokugeki no Soma [Manga]

correct me if i wrong. so far soma have mostly his father knowledge n skill but still dont get most important element in cooking - cook for most loved one- . it fact that make the most delicious meal in the world in my opinion. even for us most delicious meal still our mother cooking for single ppl n his wife for married ppl.in my place got quote that say " to make husband love you more , make meal with full love that can make his never leave home or eating other woman cooking" . in this manga even soma father say secret for good chief is to meet loved one that make you want to give all delicious meal you make to her/him. so because of that i think reason Soma lost to Hayama 1 point is this. Hayama fight for his precious one ,Jun . if Soma have that he will win i think but sadly he still dont have that. Asato cook for Erina n Megumi think about Soma when she cook that make their meal more delicious. even it dont have scientific proof i think author want to make we know about that.

p.s it just my opinion

Well, it's not that far from truth, but I think it's not in Soma's case. Love is just another factor which can boost their skills. Some people cook for passion, another for dreams, ambition etc. People are driven by different feelings, not just love. For the time being, Soma is doing his best for his customers who are particular about the food which he mentioned, but who knows, maybe love will further strengthen him. It's just an option.

It was made clear in that chapter that the reason why Soma lost to Hayama was just the subjective nature of the judges.

Finally caught up with this series after a long break.

Although Nikumi is still my favorite, ch63 made me realize how well Soma and Alice would work together. There's a refreshing chemistry to them: healthy rivals that love to experiment with new dishes. Whereas Alice approaches her experiments calculatingly, Soma opts to mix everything he can think of together. And again, they're healthy rivals. They challenge each other and they (or at least, Soma) don't hold grudges towards the other.

That's right Soma, charm Alice with your cooking into your harem. She is so much better than Erina She has such a cute chibi face with those black outlines around her eyes.

I'm pleasantly surprised at what Soma has in store for the judges. Candy huh? Can't wait to see their reactions.

It was nice to see Soma doesn't fall under the stress and have the casual conversation with Alice. Even Alice cannot handle his approaches. Can't wait to see Soma asking Alice to make her curry dish for him.

Agree. I prefer the traditional cooking. Lower cost, way more food (at restaurants i mean).

I noticed something while reading another cooking competition manga, Mr. Ajikko. I think one or two dishes from this series (during the curry arc) might have been inspired by that series.

Alice is pretty lucky that the contest doesn't judge how the food was made ) I doubt the average restaurant, or even the average five star restaurant, can afford all the gadgets she uses to cook. Just imagine the cost of maintenance and repair!
