It is not that one piece's new world isnt as awesome as you imagined, it is that we have been a little too busy with these arcs of saving the island from the overlord and sincerily i thought there would be a lot more of strong people as soon as they entered. Sincerily i hope this is the last arcs of its kind, we have seen too many of them from the start of one piece i got a little tired, i want it to be a little more about the sea travels itself.

Toriko is definitely among the best manga, in cooking, battles and plot development. It has really gotten better by the month and I remember picking it up back in 2010 (ch.114 by that time). I thought it was amazing back then, so you can only imagine where it stands now

Kudos to whoever recognized Joa's cell demon that appeared for a split panel some 80 chapters ago, Komatsu is finally getting a solo mission AND we'll be introduced to the golden chef! The hype is on~

Eh, I don't really like to make many comparisons between OP and Toriko. I think mainly because Toriko is waaaaay more over the top than OP is, lol.

Well, it was already mentioned that there's a civilization in Area 6 (which is where Jiji is currently residing), so the king of that continent may not necessarily be a spirit monster. Though, it may actually be a while before we see the king in question if the author is still asking fans to submit the design for it!

Toriko and co. arrive at the place where Another is found.... the center of the ocean at Area 6, the Black Triangle. It's a mysterious place where supposedly even a meteor the size of the moon got lost inside its depths, without a trace! However, the key to locating Another is to locate the "Stardust River" within that vast darkness.....

Interestingly, Aimaru comes up with his own method of finding Pair. Using a special globe created by the IGO, he then uses a drop of Pair to make a special bacteria that's used to map out an optimal route to locate Another. He also mentions that he learned of dark techniques that use bacteria to prepare food, but before he mentions the name of the person who taught him about those techniques, the group gets attacked by tornadoes! Apparently, those tornadoes were created by the Mother Snake, one of the Eight Kings (doesn't seem to be the king that rules Area 6, though). They're forced to land in the ocean, but then they get caught up in another crazy phenomenon, the "Conveyor Belt Islands"! Finally, they run into a powerful monster with a capture level of 1600, but before the beast can eat them, it gets simultaneously electrocuted and torched!


Yes, the ones that took out the creature were none other than Brunch and Starjun! Though Toriko is confused as to why his arch-rival is there, Star tells him he'll explain everything later, as more monsters are coming. Incidentally, they weren't the only ones waiting for Toriko's group.... as calling out to them on a nearby island is the Gold Chef, Jiji...!!!



Well, it sure didn't take long for Jiji to show up. Though I'm wondering when that whole spirit world cooking will come into play....

Hmm, so Aimaru learned that technique from Joa? Kinda makes sense if you take into account Joa's ability to control people, but...why? Anyway, going past the obvious "waves on fire" thing, how did Jiji know where to find them all?

It turns out that Jiji is using a clam-type camping monster that releases special magnetic waves, which create a safe zone. He also prepares a special GW meal for everyone that takes a great level of skill to cook, leaving no doubt that he's the genuine article. Toriko asks Starjun if he's there on Midora's orders, which he confirms. He also says that Pair is the key to unraveling a certain mystery, but it seems that only Midora knows the whole story behind that. Brunch also confirms that the chefs captured by the Bishokukai are all safe, and Midora will release them all once Acacia's full course is gathered.


Jiji confirms that he was the one who wrote the cookbook found in the Gourmet Pyramid, but Komatsu at his current level has progressed beyond the recipes written in that book. Even the Blue Nitro are looking forward to him bringing out the best taste from Acacia's full course. But now, on to more important matters: Jiji indeed knows the whereabouts of the rest of the full course, and is also aware of the one-month time limit until the eclipse. Thus, he himself will decide on which groups will be sent to each location to capture the ingredients, though he says most of the group must remain there in Area 6, since Another is THAT difficult to capture. He also warns of the king that rules the continent, the Whale King Moon, also known as the Black Hole Whale, a beast that can absorb all light and matter. Furthermore, the Whale King is considered to be the strongest of the Eight Kings, which makes capturing Another even more difficult! Nonetheless, Jiji still splits up the teams, which goes as follows:

-Location: Area 5, Food Region Forest
Ingredient: Acacia's Meat Dish, NEWS
Capture Team: Zebra and Brunch

-Location: Area 4, Gourmet Garden
Ingredient: Acacia's Dessert, EARTH
Capture Team: Sunny and Livebearer(!!!!)

-Location: Area 3, Developmental Fever Bridge
Ingredient: Acacia's Drink, ATOM
Capture Team: Coco and Tairan

-Location: Area 2, Continent of Life
Ingredient: Acacia's Main Dish, GOD
Capture Team: Toriko and Starjun

These are the teams that Jiji has decided upon. Once all of these ingredients are successfully captured, they will all regroup and go to Area 1, where they must capture the last ingredient.... Acacia's Hors D'oeuvre, Center! But now, everyone must split up and capture their separate ingredients. Unfortunately, it looks like everybody is dissatisfied with their pairings, heh.



Yet another infodump chapter! Still, I gotta say.... I am SO looking forward to the Sunny/Livebearer team's antics.

All the teams formed in the previous chapter set off to capture their respective ingredients, and of course they all have their own camping monsters to transport them. Most of them are obviously still unhappy with their assigned partners, but that by no means deters our heroes.

Meanwhile, Jiji explains to Komatsu that there are four different doors to the "Back World", but the first three are located in the "Black Triangle", a trio of continents with extremely harsh environments. Therefore, they'll take the fourth, easiest door, which is in the civilization of Area 6.... the underwater gourmet capital, Blue Grill. It's home to many top-class chefs of the Gourmet World, which naturally excites Komatsu. Now, he and Jiji get ready to set off on their adventure...!!!

Blue Grill looks like a slice of paradise, but Jiji seems to think otherwise...I wonder what's up with that place. Toriko and Komatsu also seem to have made some sort of deal before leaving, besides their wedding plans. The most important part of the chapter was probably the one where Toriko and Starjun talk about the appetite of their gourmet cells, which could probably be the reason why they go after god, to have a taste of something that they don't know, but one that their cells remember...

This chapter focuses on the adventures of Komatsu's group. They dive into the Black Triangle, and Jiji explains that the ocean here is a great source of flavors, ingredients, and even cooking tools. Speaking of tools, he also mentions seven pieces of "golden cookware" that are the only tools that can cook "spirit food". Also, while food from the living world can't be brought to the spirit world, the sole exception is Another.....


After a little more exploring, the group comes across a stardust river created by a young Another. It's at this time that Chiyo reveals that the reason she joined the expedition was for the chance to meet her deceased son in the spirit world. But as soon as they finish their conversation, the group comes across a new beast: The Coral King, Corgolem! It turns out that in addition to the whale king, there are seven other powerful monsters which rule Area 6, collectively known as the "Seven Beasts", who all have capture levels over 4000. But thankfully, this particular beast is making no motion to attack the group....


They also have a run-in with another strange creature: A Food Spirit! It appeared to inform Jiji that they finally arrived at their destination! As it turns out, the civilization is housed inside of a gigantic shellfish. The shell opens, granting them passage, but it also attracts the attention of the coral king from earlier! Nonetheless, everyone manages to evade the beast, and they finally arrive in the great underwater capital.... Blue Grill!

To be honest, there isn't much to say here without the pictures, but the chapter is basically Komatsu and the rest of the chef group exploring Blue Grill. Seems like many unique cooking techniques and utensils are used by the chefs of this place. However, it looks like at the end of the chapter, a mysterious group of masked chefs intend to round up the visitors....

Anyways, Chiyo is awesome. That's all I want to say for this chapter.

This was actually my favorite chapter in a while! I loved seeing those crazy cooking tools and techniques used by the Blue Grill chefs! The human world chefs lending those guys a hand was just icing on the cake, so to speak!


Anyways, I guess the previous human visitors that Jiji mentioned are some of the Biotope 0 members who were defeated before the timeskip. But now I'm just wondering what's up with these masked chef dudes.....?
