So this was an anime original episode? Perhaps this is why it was better than most episodes. Overall I'd say this episode earns a 7/10.
I liked the change of mood quite a bit. Never got to see anything like this in the other episodes. What can I say KyoAni? Too little, too late. Hopefully the last episode can provide a bit of entertainment...

Episode 11 is a good improvement in redeeming for a rehashed Episode 10 and was enjoyable... Yet's hope the final episode won't turn out bad.

Not really much else to comment on...Some enjoyableness here and their, but mostly a feeling of "What the hell are they doing...".

Thanks to this episode I believe I can forgive the fail that was episode 10, if I convince myself it was just a lead-in episode.
Strangely enough they still have a year and a half to go before they even graduate and they haven't reached their goal of Budokan, so I still expect a second season for that. Even then I expect a great season finale performance for 12 and whatever 13 comes out as.

I don't see how something like that is best left to Key series, given how utterly fucking bonkers they make their drama. Go figure that this show decides to actually develop a character or two with there only being one episode left, you know? Go fucking figure. *sigh*

Azunyan got to see Mio-senpai and he pantsu!
And lol at one of the club names they decided : Spoiler for spoiler:
Is it me, or this is the only episode in which we see character development? Quote:

Considering the fact that Ritsu is rather boyish in the way she acts, and Mio is rather feminine, it would be lovely if they have a hot lesbian makeout in the clubroom really went out and date each other. And Midonin, we know that you secretly want it.

A K-On episode with drama. Wow...
Why the hell did Ritsu became a bitch all of a sudden? The drama is really forced in this episode. Oh well, I'm just hoping that the next episode will be very epic. Please, no more music video...I just want to see them play, for the love of God.

The way i see it, ritsu was jealous and felt sad that her friend mio was starting to drift away.
Its actually something that happens in real life quite a bit, so good job for kyoani in making it at least somewhat realistic. Now all i need is some actual music, because so far there has been very little in K-ON! |

To be fair, drama this ep does look forced. A little.
But we should remember that: 1. Ritsu behaving like a jerk to Mio is hardly something new. She overstepped the boundaries of Unfunny many times in the series. 2. Mio never fought back at Ritsu, occasional tsukomming notwithstanding. 3. This was the first time Mio actually found some social links outside of Ritsu-controlled circle. Also, "insubordination" in the music shop. 4. They are still young, inexperienced and, in Ritsu's case, very hot-blooded. P.S. Somehow this situation reminds me of Mariko and Nanako argument in Onii-sama E. Where one of partners is abusive and posessive, but presents herself as a victim when they get in conflict. |
