Dressed like Ichi to, but the 'rat-flail' the "shikai" of the 'rat morning-star' is kind of a running theme/joke on VGcats. The original joke was based on DnD or something, I forget now.

I believe that when it was posted previously in this thread it was accompanied by an explaination. I can't seem to find it, or remember the specifics, but pretty sure rat-mace (or whatever) was used previously in that comic series, and its use here was more of a running gag within that comic. In which case, it's actually a bit more effective as parody since it maintains its roots in previous works of the series, but also makes clear what is being parodied from outside the series. a distinction between who's Bankai isn't really needed, and might actually distract from the original value of the comic among Bleach fans due to a closer similarity to Renji's Bankai, rather than Ichigo's.
