If you even needed a tank to soak up extra students, take all those interwar tanks designed as rolling machine gun fortresses. Like the M2 Medium Tank and these multi-turret Russian, French, and British tanks.

The M2 Medium would be amusing just on the basis of the girls inside fighting over which way to go. Even the DRIVER has some machine guns fixed into the hull, which (s)he was intended to use to aim by turning the hull like a fighter plane.

Needs more M2A1 Medium.

Ah, multi-turreted behemoths. For me the T-28 immediately springs to mind, but these days I'm also reminded of the KV-5 (aim for the micro-turrets!). Aren't you guys all glad that Soviet tank evolution went in a completely different (and more PRACTICAL) direction?

Say, do you figure Chihatan Academy can get away with deploying that naval gun tank?

That looks like a Coppertone ad waiting to happen.

Or a visit from Chris Hansen.

The OVAs 2 and 3 are translated even though it has bad timing issues, but definitely watchable.

Watch episode 4 carefully. A-team was missing right along with the others (including their supposedly veteran opponent) in the ambush scene despite being within baseball throwing distance. It is actually NOT A-team that scores the only friendly hit in that "baseball-throwing" match. It is the Volleyball team, of all people. The only other hit was by the enemy.

Too bad they didn't really indicate what the plaques on the wall were in OVA3. They showed they in passing. There were of several of the other schools.

Oh and one thing. The model of their ship is 1/1000 scale! The new Yamato ship model kits are that big. Yamato herself (at 333 meters long) is 13 inches long to this school ship's model is about 300 inches long. Or 25 feet long.

ENGLAND BETTER REPRESENT!!

But anyway... I wish one of the OVAs would cover competitions off the screen from the TV series. I eagerly await for the fight between St. G & KMM.

The OVAs are, what, six minutes long, though? You'd be getting box scores.

Hmm, I thought it was 15. Or half of a standard episode.

Then again, who knows if the OVA length would remain consistent.

Random thought:

I think Erwin and Yukari singing "Yuki no Singun" is my favorite miscellaneous character moment from the series. It's both appropriate for the setting, geekily-specific/obscure, and shows that they've had some time together to probably come up with other, more inappropriate, marching cadences.

And I am still waiting for a full version of that song... Seriously, I don't care if it doesn't have backing music and it is just done in one take. I want the full song sang by the voice actresses. It just feels... real.
