Exactly! The anime is making her out to be some kind of bit (small) character when in the Manga she's far more involved in Hazumu's life! When they kiss in the next episode (or the follow one...depending how it flows), it’s going to come as a shock to some people and they’ll hate her more. Grrrr....my mom warned me about the evils of Manga.

I loved this episode -- I never read past the first chapter of the manga because to be honest, I wasn't all that interested.. (^^; So the entirety of this episode was new to me. And I really enjoyed it more than I thought I would -- there were some wonderfully funny scenes, and all of the seiyuu are simply charming in their roles.

I think they didnt put much Yasuna in this coz Yasuna was the focus in 1st ep and this 2dn ep Tomari.

Well, episode 2 definitely makes the show a lot better than what I was expecting. While episode 1 leaves people either in a state of "WTF?!" (those who don't know the premise) or boredom (those who do), episode 2 expands on the character development nicely. One thing I have a qualm about is why

Hazumu has absolutely no clue how girls should act. You'd think he would've been more attentive, especially seeing that Tomari had been a childhood friend. While some things might not be obvious, like holding in one's skirt when walking up the stairs, some things should be quite obvious, like bathing together or showing someone your chest. Thus, some of the scenes, while hilariously comical, made Hazumu appear a lot more stupid than I had expected.

I liked ep2 a lot more than ep1 as well, I guess because what happens in ep1 is so tacky and ridiculous. The events in ep2 are definitely altered a bit from the manga, but by no means worse. It seems they want to try to concentrate on a single girl each episode, at least at the start here. The scene with the bra-fitting was a bit more funny bc of the Tomari x Yasuna interactions in the manga, but this was also good too. It was also funny how they expanded on the amount of screwups Hazumu was making at school and such compared to the manga .... boy Hazumu really was oblivious as a boy, wasn't he? ^^; I suppose thats forced for added comedic effect of course.

HAYATE CROSS BLADE is another seinen/yuri manga (a yuri manga for young men) thats getting animated its serialized in the seinen manga magazine Dengeki Daioh (yes the same magazine Kashimashi ~Girl Meets Girl~ is serialized in)

Its getting an anime and its begining on 30/1/2006

Manga is pretty interesting have to see how the story continues in the anime.. Pretty funny sense of humor tho the ship hit him and takes it as a kiss.. the ship's personality is female and is Yuri on top of that so makes him a female. Got a long time childhood friend who really cares for him very deeply and is working at accepting him as a her now even thinking of being Yuri with him/her since she's loved him for quite a while.. And on top of this his love Yasuna now accepts him now that he's become a she because she is not able to see male faces at all even her own fathers. So we got a love triangle and one researcher who is bound determined to test it to it's extent by interfering and causing things to happen. I'm sure he could of chastised the ship to change him back into a male but he's a researcher who's curiousity is peaked at what his/her life will be like as a female and where the love triangle will go.

First of all, I'm personally astonished by Tamura Yukari's perfomance, until now I was used to hear her performing cheesy roles (Misha ~ Pita Ten), plain sweet (yet serious) roles (Nanoha ~ Nanoha) or even misteryous roles (Michiru ~ Uta-kata).
Instead Tomari has a lot of angry/grudgy/crazy/hilarious sequences and the voice acting is so well done, and perhaps I wouldn't even recognize Tamura Yukari at first hit, if I didn't know it was her. She gains back my first place as favourite seiyuu (with Horie Yui coming second closely)

Spoiler for episode 2:

I read the spoilers about Yasuna poor presence.. I have to agree. She seemed.. quite ignored in this episode, and although I'm more a Tomari fan, this matter looked quite forced, thus unnatural on regard of the story.
Hazumu parents' are very very silly , and a bit annoying after a bit.



But the mixture between funny gags (see the sensei falling down from the windows) and deep moments (the childhood friendship) is nice.
I still don't get where the anime is going to go with the plot, although those aliens at the end made me wonder ..

Overall, a nice episode, better than the first one because we had a bit of development instead that of an introducton. But imho not *that* good. I would rate it 7.5 out of 10.

Episode 2 is on Tomari development. Episode 3 is most likely on Yasuna development. Although I still think Asuta should go with Hazumu... the obligatory gay buddy becomes the lead of the harem!

Asuta kicks ass... his voice is hilarious like the voice of Yukito from AIR TV.

i guess you can't judge the title by it's content this anime is worth watching

I was going to make a similar comment about Kashimashi: I think the series works on multiple levels. Theres that base level for those that are just looking to get some yuri out of it, then theres the light-hearted comedy for some good laughs, and then you can also get some really good underlying commentary on loving someone on the inside and even questioning the male vs female role in society I think.

quite true, I agree on that.

That aside, I find the second episode of Kashimashi better than it's manga equivalent. I have to say, I find it rare for me to say that, so I'm totally impressed by the production crew .

Good comments. I'd add that it does the romantic/personal emotions really well. It's quite moving at times, for me.
