Well previously I havent really liked the interaction between Kanbaru and Araragi compared to the other chars. But in this episode Kanbaru brought some *funnehs* so I did enjoy the laughs.

What makes me suspicious tho is both girls got somewhat sick in the head. Kanbaru got somewhat dizzy, and Hanekawa was getting head aches. Both were within the radius of Sengoku 5 mins prior. Tho I not sure if its 100 % linked, but its suspicious.

I wish it was a 24 ep series too, not 15 :/

but I do want to see arcs from Shinobi and Hanekawa and maybe Oshino

Oshino and Tsundere-chan are probably my two most fav characters so far. Didnt get to see them in this ep <.<

It's true we didn't get to see them in this weeks episode, though Oshino had one fantastic looking scene. Together with classic Oshino pose.

Well, with this episode it became clear that Hanekawa does NOT know everything. For instance, she doesn't know that the fact that Koyimi helps everyone is why Sengojahara likes him. She also doesn't seem to know that Kanbaru is a lesbian, and that apparently Kanbaru and Sengojahara has the former flirt with him and look cute as a (somewhat deadly) joke. So her advice was pretty off-mark.

Though this episode was still really great, I did feel a tad bit fatigued. I hope that the opening sequence implies that this time the girl won't be saved/there won't be a happy 'new friends' ending this time. I wish Koyimi would be shown helping a boy with such caring and sensitivity, not only all these girls, which can become repetitive and boring.

BTW, concerning Hanekawa... when she had the sudden headache Ararararagi(Shitsurei, kamimashita!) offered to take her home but she refused and said she's going somewhere else... in ep 6 when Araragi called her on the cellphone she said she was having a light study but actually she was siting on a swing and she was definitely away from her home and it's already late... in ep 4 during Mother's Day (assuming her mother's still alive) she was not celebrating the occasion with her mom and she definitely can see Mayoi during that time... I am thinking that Mayoi (the Lost Snail oddity) probably a common face to her... well that's just me thinking odd things again...

Yes, we finally get to see this girl. Her character design was the most interesting to me when I started this series, and I was actually disappointed that it wasn't this girl who was the lead [Not anymore, but...].

This went by really quickly. By the time it was over, I thought it reached the halfway mark.... I was so disappointed.

For me, some episodes have felt longer then their actually length, though you should just use it as an excuse to rewatch the episode during the week.

Another great episode, Bakemonogatari never lets down. Even though I did miss our queen Hitagi, this episode offered much more that it didn't really bother me that much. Araragi's room was hilarious, the random banana was also funny in its way. Also the Kanbaru quest for Araragi's porn was the funniest part of the episode. I'm curious what Araragi is into it must be pretty extreme since Kanbaru said that "a girl rather jump out of a window than do that".

About Nadeko I don't know what to think about her, it seems like she is another of those characters that has a hard time making friends. Now that I think about it everybody in this show is the same way thats why they run into oddities. Also Nadeko seems to have some kind of crush towards Araragi for a long time now since he was in sixth grade, from what they show in the flashback.

Looking forward to next episode to see what the oddity is all about, and also looking forward to Hitagi's birthday that should be one hell of a day.

On the contrary, I think her advice was spot on. Senjougahara is an emotionally stunted character, and she doesn't feel like she has much to share with him other than her wit, her body, and her junior. The wit she gives in huge verbal diarrhea, her body she has childhood issues with, so the only thing left to her is her junior. Still, while she wants them to get along, the important thing Koyomi needed to be reminded of was that there was a clear line between just getting along and getting along too well; that is, that him going with his usual flow of things can hurt Senjougahara.

Senjougahara is not having Kanbaru flirt with Araragi as a joke, as it would not fit her character. She's greedy with what she wants, and would not approve of Araragi being affectionate with another girl romantically. She simply wants to share with him her everything, and unfortunately she doesn't feel as though she has very much to offer. Kanbaru is one important piece so she asks Kanbaru to be pleasant to Araragi to help things along. That's all it is.

Koyimi didn't "have to be reminded" of that; he already rejected having any of that contact with Kanbaru in previous episodes, and Kanbaru herself says that, indeed, Sengojahara had told her to jokingly 'look cute' and snuggle up to Koyimi, but on pain of death should he make any move. Hanekawa didn't know anything about the situation this time, and just sounded overtly conservative.

And on Hitagi... we're reminded this ep that her birthday is on July 7 -- Tanabata! Now the opening verse of the ED makes so much sense. Deneb, Altair, Vega... Orihime, Hikoboshi... Can't wait for this to get touched on eventually. Any estimates on the current in-series date?

That part of the ending song will be dealt with in ep 12. I have a few ideas about how they'll do it in the show, but I'm really looking forward to seeing how that actually do it.

Great episode. Kanbaru is pretty funny throughout but can't replace Hitagi so I hope we get more of her next week. Araragi was pretty dense when Hanekawa was explaining to him about drawing a line with other girls.. the fool.

Shaft really knows what defines cute. They are so good at it. "Koyomi onichan, taskete." I mean, geez.... I know he will give it a go after such plea that's for sure even if his entrails are hanging out grotesquely possibley because he let Kanbaru in his room ahead of Senjougahara.

Considering how many fans echoed the thought that Senjougahara was sorely missed, it shows how big of a role she plays to the overall entertainment value of this series.

Anyway, to talk about the episode.... wonder why Kanbaru and Hanekawa both experienced certain physical discomfort? Obviously this cutie-pie has something to do with it considering she was physically present at both of those location.

Btw, novel readers can't spoil/hint/eeep of any kind. We anime-only viewers don't want to deprive you of our crack theories that will sure to keep you up at nights.

The first part of eps 9 makes me sleepy actually...

This was a good episode. The IGN parody was awesome. Kanbaru also seems like she really is attracted in some way to Araragi.

Kanbaru makes a good side kick, but I think Hachikuji is funnier to be around. We havn't seen her for so many episodes I am going into Hachikuji withdraw. Oh and a little Senjogahara withdraw too.


At the beginning of the episode Araragi said that if he had noticed her running down the stairs than maybe this wouldn't have happened.

However it seems like this girl has had this problem for more than one day. If anything she seems to have had it for quite some time so what would Araragi noticing one day earlier have prevented?

That scene in his room where she was squeezing her breast while trying to hide them way pretty sexy. SHAFT did a good job animating the way the tissue squeezes between her fingers.

Oh Senjougahara's birthday is coming up? That is gonna be interesting...

There was a few not so good moments in the animation during that first part but otherwise another solid outing of an episode. Priceless reaction to a pretty much naked Sengoku and the interaction between Kanbaru and Araragi was awesome as usual with the fetish talk (this time brought up by Kanbaru's relentless search of Araragi's stash of porno mags)

Edit: Just noticed the inconsistency with Hanekawa's summer/winter uniform. Can't believe I missed that...

Would be nice to see some more screen time with her pretty soon as she was absent for a fair bit of the last arc too. I could do with some more interaction between her and Araragi as I always find their conversations...interesting to say the least (especially now since they're in a relationship). Still I enjoy watching the rest of the cast of characters and the way they interact with one another enough to the point that the lack of Senjougahara hasn't really affected my overall entertainment value of this series all that much.
