The Dark Side Of The Entertainment Industry

Lord of the Rings star Elijah Wood says Hollywood
is gripped by a powerful pedophile ring and Tinseltown
is covering up a 'seedy' underbelly full of predatory
'vipers':

"Lord of the Rings star Elijah Wood claims that young actors in Hollywood
are being sexually abused by predatory high-powered 'vipers' working in
the industry..

The Hobbit actor, 35, told The Sunday Times that the child abuse is
'probably still happening'."

A quote from the article in the Original Post:

"Henry believes that around three quarters of child actors that 'went off
the rails' later in their life had been abused in Hollywood."

Finally, an explanation for why so many Hollywood kids are so
messed-up!

Albeit unfortunate, that's the way the entertainment industry has been for as long as I can remember...and it's either sex, drugs or a combination of the two. There have been rumours about many actors (and performers, singers, dancers, you name it) being involved in such cases, but some people like to think they are above the law, because money is the easiest means of control.

To anyone who is familiar with the whole Roman Polanski debacle, the only thing surprising about this is that someone is actually going public with it and condemning it. I guess ol' Frodo decided he's gotten enough out of his career, because you can bet that shortly after this story leaves the public's attention, you'll stop seeing "Elijah Wood" in big letters on movie posters, and eventually at all.

Damning Report on Jimmy Savile, Sex Monster of the BBC:

"Jimmy Savile, the pedophile British children’s television presenter, was
considered “too important to the the BBC” to be “required to observe the
rules and values which applied to everyone else,” and as a consequence
was able to get away with years of sex assaults on men, women and
children, according to a new report (PDF)."

Sex abuse rife at BBC says Ben Fellows:

"Ben Fellows, who appeared in Eastenders, The Bill and Starlight Express
before becoming an award-winning filmmaker, spoke last night about how
he was preyed upon by actors, directors and producers.

Mr Fellows’s testimony will pile more pressure on the BBC in the wake of
the Jimmy Savile sex scandal."

Yes. In Australia, a famous Radio DJ was charged in court after many of his victims came out to reveal how he molested them when they were younger.

There's no reason for it to be limited to one country. This is about elitism, not nationality.

Same here, the most famous artists had had to satisfy various "requests" from their backers in order to get promoted, although whether there was consensus or not is unknown to me.

If that gets rids of a few high-powered sexual deviants in there, I can live with that.

Great, Jimmy Savile is so "important" that they ignore years of crimes, and sex abuse is rampant there, yet Jeremy Clarkson gets into one minor row with a producer and Top Gear is ruined forever. Great job, BBC...

Jeremy was becoming a problem to the BBC for long time and tolerated him due to Top Gear's ratings and the row with the producer was the final straw.

Porn Company Rapes Woman “We’ll Tell
Your Parents!”:

"AV talent agency Marks Japan has had its president, former president
and one other employee arrested on suspicion of forcing one or more of
its actresses to unwillingly perform in adult videos.

Allegations originate from an incident back in 2013 where a 20-year old
woman (who contracted as a model in 2009) was reportedly forced to
perform in an AV production, with staff apparently threatening to tell her
parents and that she would have to pay the financial penalties if she
refused."

6 Ways Being A Child Star Is Way Darker Than
You'd Think:

"Children and entertainment mix about as well as alcohol and
prescription meds -- which, incidentally, often end up being their primary
diet. And you don't need to be an A-lister for the biz to ruin your life.
"Kathy" learned that the hard way after her father pushed her into a
singing career. She first started performing at fairs and talent shows, but
by the end, she was singing with her own band for huge crowds ... while
hating every last second of it."

Can't really compare those two events. The Saville stuff happened a long time before, and it's learning from the mistakes of those years which has led to the rules being tightened.

6 Times Rampant Substance Abuse Led To
Cinematic Genius:

"Fortunately, for every pop culture milestone that was clearly conceived
while shitfaced, you can point to wholesome classics like Star Wars, It's
A Wonderful Life, and that movie where Cuba Gooding Jr. inherits some
sled dogs, all of which prove that you can create artistic masterpieces
without drugs.

Yeah, uh, about that ..."

The 50-Year Mission reveals the egomania and
idealism that built Star Trek:

"Actress Kate Mulgrew, who played Captain Janeway, was so annoyed
with Jeri Ryan (Seven of Nine) that she tormented the actress on set
every day."

"A lot of the most painful parts of The 50 Year Mission involve finding out
that your creative heroes could be total assholes, capable of everything
from sexual harassment to willful sabotage. Every era of Star Trek saw
battles for creative control that were motivated, in large part, by
egomania and the kind of self-importance that would make the godlike Q
blush. And yet at the same time, almost everybody working on Star Trek
believed, to some extent, in its vision of a better future where people
overcome selfishness and hatred, and some of the most fascinating parts
involve people twisting themselves into knots coming up with stories
about more evolved humans."

Danny Masterson (Hyde on That '70s Show) Is Reportedly Being Investigated for Rape Against Fellow Scientologists

Again, a favorite actor from a TV show you love turns out to be a criminal. Worse, he also a member of that cult.
