there has been theory going around that Uroko-sama is a future version of Hikari who became part of the Sea God. There were several instances that Uroko knew a bit more than he is supposed to. One was when he had a conversation with Akari and while word was out she was dating Itaru, no one knew Miuna actually disapproved of her. Somehow Uroko knew this tidbit. Other things as well like having knowledge of future events and being fond of Manaka.

Well, he has been enduring a though situation since then, not comparable with Chisaki's or Akari's obviously, and now that things probably'll go back to the "status quo" he will have it even harder. So it's not so unlikely he could break down at a certain point.
If I had to look at the similarities: the first cour had Hikari struggling about Manaka being in love with Tsumugu (who instead wasn't with her). Thanks to that as a drive Hikari grew up. This second cour started having Tsumugu struggling about Chisaki being still in love with Hikari (who instead is not). We have the same story with inverted roles. If I had to follow this build up Tsumugu would have some development at some point of the show. And given the road he is walking, the kind of character he is and the amount of screen time he had, a break down would fit him. Going ahead with similarities even Miuna is now in Tsumugu role of "smile keeper" as Kanon rightly previously said. And Hikari now is in Chisaki's shoes. And Chisaki's in Manaka's. Adding to this Akari and his father mirrored situation of being a parent. Ok, I'm sorry Kaname, I'm not ignoring you on purpose, but I don't know where I could drop you in this rubik's cube, or better naming it the nagi's cube.

He's about to lose the girl he loves, his grandpa could die at any moment (and probably will pretty soon, knowing Okada) and I bet he still hasn't made up with his mother.
All in all, it would be a surprise of he doesn't break down.

I find it interesting that now, thanks to the time skip, we have some ready-made pairings that I don't think a lot of us would have guessed just a few weeks ago. Obviously they may not all happen so cleanly, but if they did, then that would leave not one single same-"race" couple formed during the entire series.
That's one way to go the distance with the show's theme of harmony between the two worlds, I guess! |

Robot-kun is perhaps the best way to describe him.
The way Tsugumu talks is so annoying. x.x For example, When he says 「それだけじゃ、だめなのか?」 while giving Chisaki a complement ... He mumbles and speeds through it, twice, in a very monotone manner. It's as if he's a neet or something, who can't speak or enunciate his words properly. Not only does he act like a robot, he speaks like one too. ----------------------- Well, isn't Manaka screwed? She'll be the youngest when she wakes up... and she was the person who was most scared of everyone leaving her. Something tells me this won't blow over well. Not to mention, she's the only one without a pairing. Something tells me she'll either die (if she isn't dead already), or get paired with Akari's newborn son. |

She has Hi-kun. He's not going to stop loving her. This was the one thing that never changed since the beginning, and one of Hikari's defining character traits. I don't see this changing any time soon. In fact, I see him waiting for her till the day he dies. No, scratch that. He'll go and rescue her himself as the OP hints.

Does Ena protect from Hypothermia? It seems like sea people are very resilient to cold.
Also, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5HW-1PoIPCo The PV has pretty interesting lines coming from Manaka. |

It's exactly because of that.
Think about it, do you seriously think Miuna will try to win Hikari over when she finds out that Manaka sacrificed herself to save her new mother? Miuna has a little brother thanks to Manaka, you know. For me, it's clear Okada is setting Miuna to lose here, as her rival is the person who protected her new family. All that Miuna admires in Hikari, ultimately leads to Manaka. Miuna will suffer, but she'll grow as a person because of it. That sounds like Okada to me.

Robot or not, I actually prefer Tsumugu, who is very honest with what he's thinking and has no pretentious smiles (though the guy doesn't talk much about his feelings or himself).
If anyone in this anime scares me, it's Kaname. He's a good friend, and he's not a bad guy, but most of the times I feel like he's not showing who he truly is or what's really going on in his head. |
