Actually because of low budged and kind of crappy action scenes the main attraction of this anime for me are the characters and their relationship (specially AyanoxKazuma). It has an interesting plot but its strength lies not in action. If they would give it enough attention and big enough budget, then who knows, but for now the caharcters are the main force here.

quite true ~ but then again this series doesnt seem to give the impression of "just mindless fighting" to me in the first place :3 as far as the plot goes a good relationship plays a big part...how ayano comes to accept kazuma and all that ~ and not forgetting how kazuma ended up this way because of a broken heart ~

That sounds pretty true. I doubt they did it that way on purpose, but the characters and plot really are the important thing here. Could be the less than incredible animation really makes you take notice of that. It's a good story anyways, so I'm glad it's being told.

The relationships really are key in this one. How Kazuma was treated in the Kannagi family, but can still have good relationships with members of it. It's just interesting to see how Kazuma's past has influenced him and how Ayano is going to change from that person we met at the start.

Sometimes relationship has the chemistry sometimes it does not...Lets say in Gurren we have the tsundere couple of KaminaxYoko but its so plain and boring that you allready know everything, so silly portrayed and played like it would be for someone who is 5-7 years old. One of the worst couple in this season (and as far as I know many poeple support this oppinion) becaue it doesnt have the chemistry needed, despite the fact that characters are quite uinterestig and active (specially Yoko, kamina is pretty stupid).

In Kaze no stigma relationships are pretty nicely portrayed and ofcorse KazumaxAyano pairing has the chemistry needed to make you interested in the show, despite the crappy action scenes and pretty stiff and lq animation.

yeah, the crappy animation and disappointing fight scenes just makes me a sad rabbit... x___x;;; (but the Kazuma x Ayano antics make up for that

) especially with episode 7...! It makes me a happy KazuxAya fangirl (I can't help but go into waff mode) XD

Anyways, episode 7 summary is up in my site~ took me quite some time because I got distracted and read the short stories (with KazuAya) whilst I haven't finished my summary (and my deep frying for that matter) x__X

Returning back to Kaze no Stigma - it has what Gurren lacks , mainly lively realtionships matching the personalities. Its rather hard to tell what formula works in making good relationship between characters, as sometimes it works,sometimes (like in Gurren's case) it doesn't.

Okay, while this isn't the Gurren thread, I'd like to say in its defense that Gurren's over-the-top action that borders on mecha parody is actually really refreshing. It's great how the show does not take itself too seriously. Characters are probably not the strength of Gurren, but it's not worthless by any stretch of the imagination ^_^;

Hyouzan Fujiko's lap pillow <3 Join Date: May 2007	hmm...just watched eps 7 Spoiler: ok....i gave up waiting for more epic or at least fast paced battles -.- come on...do you chat for about 2 minutes when in a middle of a battle (where there is a high chance your own brother is getting toasted by a dragon.....not to mention that bit of talk between misao and michael (i'm glad i could drop the tenshi-sama thing ) from now on i'll just amuse myself watching ayanoxkazuma antics errmmm...btw, maybe my ears (my japanese proficiency more likely)is failing me or something... but i am quite SURE kazuma asked misao to "pay with her body" after the incident, and she's not refusing ?! the conclusion kinda sucks though.....misao being a nun is such a waste of potential ... ... .. ..... no. I meant the potential of hilarious moment between her and ayano concerning kazuma

Combine Kazuma + Ayano + Ayano's Friends = One interesting time and a whole lot of teasing going Ayano's way. Spoiler for Ep7: There always seems to be a lot of talking during fights in some shows. I suppose it's better than saying "time out, we've got to talk here". Really you can see it as a compliment to Ren that he can be fighting for all that time against the dragon and doing pretty well. I think everyone is happy we are able to drop the Tenshi-sama thing, seeing Michael going up in blue flames was nice after all the people he's hurt. Well Misao has offered her body twice already, I suppose now that he's saved her life she's more willing? Or maybe considering another assassination attempt . I'm certain they'll have more people getting in the way of Ayano and Kazuma. They probably have so many they had to put Misao away to slip them in. Use too many at once and you could see the city ablaze. __________________ Anime-Evo

I admit I always felt bad when i was seeing YokoxKamina secenes, despute the fact that I usually like tsundere couples, this one was just plainly stupid. The best thing that happened - is Kamina's death. I guess I was hoping too much from GAINAX when I though that they would make strong charcters with interesting and deep relationship. So far, its action and crazyness filled adventures where characters and especially their relationship look like cut out of cradboard. I know that you cant make another Evangelion every year, but at least they should have put more work there. Spoiler: anyways, what happens in this 'short story' is that... this Chinese guy comes into the scene, who knows about Kazuma and Tsuoi Rin's past. I haven't read how their conversation exactly went about, but what I know is that this conversation once again brought back memories of Tsuoi Rin to Kazuma (not really emo-ish or anything... ) and well, what Kazuma did to have a "switch of mood" was to "hug Ayano oh so tight" when he saw her. I think she was asking what his problem is or something, then Kazuma asked her to come close to him. Ayano does just what he asks him, not knowing the 'attack' he's going to give her... :P Ayano could barely escape from his embrace... hehehe... and after Kazuma 'releases' her, he hugs her again, and again, and again... (I can't keep track of how many times he hugged her... 4, 5 or 6 times maybe Ayano struggles to break free from Kazuma's embrace, but he asks her "[let me stay like this] for a little more while..." aww >o< he remembers Tsuoi Rin and his past, but having Ayano in his arms is enough to make him feel the 'joy of living' Ren together with another Chinese guy sees this, and Ren is of course blushing furiously as he sees his brother and Ayano in 'lovey-dovey' mode... usagijen Senior Member Join Date: Nov 2003	Spoiler: LOL... yeah, Kazuma's a lecher ^^;; but at least he's not two-timing or anything, his lecherous actions are reasonable, so to speak ^^;;;; we can't really blame Kazuma for hugging Ayano like this... and I think it was a good decision to hug Ayano and have his problems / thoughts of Tsuoi Rin melt away in their embrace, rather than go all emo and not involve Ayano in his problems (like some other characters in other animes) =___= Ayano is still naive even up to this point, hence she didn't see the Kazuma "hug attack" coming... >.>''' And all the while Kazuma was hugging her, she kept on scolding him and tried to break free because of this 'humiliation'. Ayano doesn't really get all sweet or anything, so Kazuma was a bit disappointed and shrugged when he told Ayano that it seemed as if she still don't know how to "read between the lines", or "how to sense the mood / atmosphere" (especially with the current situation they're in, where Ayano doesn't seem to be 'returning' his embrace or something ^^;; ) And well after saying this he once again goes to hug Ayano... ^^;;; He likes teasing her, especially toying with this naiveness she has ^^;;; Kazuma must be a bit disappointed that Ayano still hasn't 'matured' in this aspect, but loves her as she is... She even gave Kazuma a sort of uppercut attack after he finally releases her, but he was quick to evade it ^^;;;
