At least the effectively-unarmored box on top of the FV4005 Stage 2 is less of a target than the giant unarmored house on top of the WTE-100.
The update itself isn't really of huge interest, though the paper sniper TDs are a bit more appealing to me than the immobile brick TDs. I'm probably most glad that Severogorsk and Ruinberg on Fire are going away. (I dealt with Ruinberg on Fire's ridiculous lighting through the improved lighting mod, but its mere existence meant more Ruinberg games than I prefer to experience). |

I started up a Grant because I am saving the bulk of my free XP for other projects. And probably because I am a masochist.
On the German medium line from the Pz38 and up: There is still value in them. I am not a huge fan of the Panther and Panther 2, but the E-50 and 50M are good pub game mediums. (Everyone will suggest getting a T-54 at tier 9, and I have one too, but having hammered at the other Tier 9 mediums for a while, they've all got some bright spots.) That's the long game though; you should at least get to the PzIV and use it for a while to get a feel for how the game generally looks with normal matchmaking and a wider variety of tanks. And actually play the 38nA instead of trying to blow past it like many do; scout matchmaking is much less harsh than it once was, and it can teach some lessons about view range and trying not to die. |

Or, yes, one of the people in charge who doesn't necessarily give a f**k what anyone else thinks. LOL at PzIID first-day games. The IID cannot reliably penetrate another IID from the front with normal ammo, even shooting at the LFP. Sides is marginally better. Best plan, fire credits out the window with a huge load of APCR and make people rage. |

Most of the Tier 2 gift tanks have been pretty average to unremarkable, and this is one of them. It uses a light autocannon, which is not effective at long range and has weak penetration. Armor is not so great. Top speed is okay but the acceleration isn't so good for actually getting there.
Trains a CO, driver, and loader. Give it a few games, then it's up to you. |

So... just had this game.
Why holidays are bad for your health Nothing too remarkable, but just look at the chat, that borsig was flaming me the whole second half because I didn't went down to die at the field. Proof that holidays bring the worst out from pubs. At least the enemy team put a fight. |

With Bountyhunter177 and Turkey_Vulture officiating on TS (wotlabs channel of course!) for this session.
Because 5 arty games no longer are possible, am I right, WG? It leads to this: Hyper-aggressive strats: 1-2 line push on Fisherman's Bay (because the other team had FIVE ARTY WTH?!?). Hyper-aggressive strats#2: Bridge push on Mountain Pass. Redshire damage sponging in my IS-7. Windstorm damage sponging (sense a pattern here?) And finally Ruinberg medium madness with Cozza. That said, these games just put my deficiencies front and center, which was embarrassing even with Bounty's and Turkey's good-natured ribbing (mostly "Teru! You're not a medium, Teru!"). Really need to up my damage compared to the potential damage I shrug off.

Surely sarcasm, Teru? You should know that 5 SPGs per team is still possible.
Speaking of SPGs, I decided to pick up a couple of things that I'd left alone for a while and started working with the Hummel and Crusader SP. I might poke up the British line further, the same way I'm going up the USA line. The Hummel is just being used because I can. The Crusader SP's "gun pointing backward/goes faster backwards than forwards" quirk is something to get used to that I'm also experiencing with the Archer TD. The Archer itself fits in competitively with the rest of the Tier 5 TDs; the 17-pdr is still a very good gun after all. At the very least, it's a "normal" TD for the most part, unlike the AT 2, which these days mostly proves that armor can't really be trusted in the current meta. |
