Did they blow all of their budget on the first episode or is it considerably higher than before? This was gloriously animated. The staff seemed to have had a lot of fun making this episode. I particularly liked the way they played around with the "Suzu's head" notes
Glad to have this show back. It's a rather unique comedy anime. Not even Gintama has that many dirty jokes.

I don't want to know where that thing fell from, Nene. It is strange that it got second season since it rides purely on same jokes. It very static characters don't even change the profile of jokes they make. I really wanna see if Suzu will make a dirty joke or say something horny.

SYD is back as a full TV series! Well I've kept up with the OAVs so seeing them again isn't anything new. The jokes and lewdness is still there. I like the Takatoshi and Squid segment coming back from the OAVs. And seeing a pube falling down from Aria's skirt... yeah... I was as speechless as Tsuda.

This episode was ok, not really great. Part of it was reintroducing everybody. Wouldn't 99.9% of the people watching have seen what came before?
I also don't know if SY should any further past this season since the jokes are starting to get stale now. I still enjoy it but I can't see it going on that much longer. |

Oh my god! The first minute of the whole episode was pure wtf added with raising my eyebrows. and me laughing so hard. Plus the rest of the episode flowed naturally during its course with the same familiar, but awesome characters being thrown into a unique and clever mix of conversational and situational mishaps. The animations this time around look neat and colorful. The studio sure went all out on this one, the debut episode in question. But oh well, it was great none the less.
Anyways, it's great to see the Ousai Gakuen crew are back with more clever and strangely comical boke, added with Tsuda's sensible and standard tsukkomi routine. All and all, off to a great start. This winter is starting off great for me. Can't wait to see more, this is going to be awesome!

Classic first episode but still a good start. Waiting for the ED, it'll be hard to do as good as the first series

The first episode visually looked more similar to their recent series. Maybe it's due to the different director of photography : Hiroshi Oizumi (K) instead of Tsunetaka Ema.

Well, to be honest the first season did not do much for me, but I still thought I would give this one a go.
I was also quite surprised at the animation level being so high - at least it seemed to me to be high. But still the nature of the humor got really old really fast for me (although Suzu breaking the 4th wall did elicit a chuckle, I'll admit -wasn't expecting that). I may give a few more eps a try, but as is the nature of humor it is a tricky thing to do. And even when it hits a certain person perfectly there are other people for whom it does nothing.... Ah well. ^^
