Love Live Life 13 - Harmony Power!
Back when the Love Live stuff first appeared on Lantis' website, I was unsure of what it was. The girls didn't seem to have the kind of pop that I like in my anime characters, though I realize this was because I didn't know who they were. Once this name gave them a narrative, I can say I'd gladly see more of them. The second half of episode 11 was my least favorite part of the series, but that's not going to drag down something that was very much a feel-good show. It had everything. Idols. Akiba. Alpacas! And it's one of the few shows I can point to where the language of film is utilized to full effect. Some of the scene transitions and framing shots are pulled off with a really high level of skill. The director of this series had his first shot as a main director, but if he gets hired for more projects, I can expect some real talent in this field. The final performance of "START:DASH" was really sweet to watch, with the expanded choreography and vocals. I liked Nico being listened to for once, though she's at her best when she's not being treated seriously. She's probably my favorite of the idols. Sora Tokui's voice is made for this kind of role, and she provides the most comedy in the series, making her my favorite pretty much by default. Though I have a soft spot for Nozomi, who has a soft spot for soft spots. iM@S has the focus of a professional company as its focus (and also its large number), AKB0048 has the advantage of being based on a real idol group, so what does Love Live bring? Fan participation and being more about molding the raw talent of an idol compared to the other two, since this is something the girls did on their own. No Producer (or Tsubasa) here. Also, alpacas. Simulcast delays aside, a highly enjoyable watch. Last edited by Midonin; 2013-04-02 at 15:31. |

I notice things late...
Honoka have similar personality as Yui from K-ON... I am beginning to think people like this type of personality as "centers". PS: cute moms = best moms. Edit: forgot to mention... still love NICO, she's like the centerpiece of the team. *giggles* Also, *fantasizes Nico's mom* O yea... for that Love Live comment... I thought we already saw Love Live was a real event (at least in the anime) They just didn't get the chance to enter due to accidents. And they announced that 'A' team as winner. I believe the event is ONCE a Year, meaning they would have to wait another year to enter the event. BTW, I might have missed it... but did they mention the school isn't closing down? (since they did technically FAILED to gather outsider (future school students)) Last edited by chaos_animagic; 2013-04-02 at 18:09. |

If 4 is Honoka, maybe it's because her mother runs a sweets shop, IIRC? And I vaguely recall Hayano liking rice.

How popular was this anime in Japan? Just wondering if we can even hope of getting 2nd season but I'd imagine japanese otakus being all over this anime ..
Aaanyway .. I was rather disappointed we didn't get to see Love Live, considering it's the name of this anime. Still was a very enjoyable watch and I really hope for 2nd season, to see them actually participate in Love Live.
