I realize that this is extremely n00bish to resurrect a thread and make a request in the same post, but I've scoured the internets for my prize to no avail. Believe me, this is my last resort.
Does anyone happen to have/know the tab/chords for "why, or why not"?

It's very much a keyboard driven piece - you'd almost have to figure out
the bass line and then from their figure out the keyboard chords.

So listen to the track and write out the bar lines and write down the
bass guitar notes and then go back and play keyboards or piano and
attempt the keyboard part - it sounds like an electric piano style patch.

I was going to do a cover of "dare, so kare" because it's such a
hard driving piece of music and I have a six string bass it would be
perfect for but that ending build-up of massive keyboards would be
hard to duplicate with my current rig methinks.

Also, the drum programming is about as good as you can get for
drum machines. That would be the hardest part.

Hmm... true. Although, if the sheet music were lurking around somewhere, I could use that.
I'm perfectly capable of figuring it out by ear, but that takes time, something I've been rather short on lately

Character song CDs have been announced for Higurashi no Naku Koro ni, to be released starting March 28th. Rena is the only one confirmed (and named in the first character CD to be released and had a short version of her song released at Comiket 71), but the rest of the main cast is sure to follow.

I don't think that's it, check the url of the first one - March 2005. Looks more like that page is an apology about missing a March release date for something last year and nothing to do with this, especially as Tora no Ana still lists the end of December as the release. There are also a few of them on Yahoo Japan Auctions, so I'm almost positive it's out.

At least it looks like both Paletweb and Himeya did a good job searching for you. It's true that the collection album is only sold through Tora no Ana. If Tora no Ana doesn't have it in stock, then there's no way to get it through normal methods, since places like Himeya have to get the product through them first.
Tora no Ana's mail order page, out of stock, it seems.

If they're really sold out, then it's up to ico-san to decide whether or not she wants add more stock. If she does, then you should see it become available on Tora no Ana's online shop again.

Right now, future restocks is still "under consideration".

Now's the time for webclaps, maybe (look for the clap.cgi link near the bottom of ico-san's diary, type your message in the text box, and click もっと送る).

Even if you write in English, I'm sure ico-san will get the idea. Who knows, maybe your message will determine whether or not you will get this thing.

No, no... It is like saying it's okay to cheat on a test because the teachers refuse to teach me and the company who publishes the books refuses to sell me the book for me to study alone.

Of course that they can do whatever they want with their work (like sell just 10 copies and that's all) but that's how I fell about this one-issue

Is there any way to "hint" the 7th expansion guys to release the PS2 game in english? It's a real waste for us not being able to play them, really -_- It's more likely it'll stay as a game exclusive from Japan (bah, like all the other ones) but a person can dream ^^

The first one is Higurashi no Naku Koro ni Sai Opening Theme - Nageki no Mori, to be released on January 25th, 2007.

More details on the character song CDs have been released, and the first volume will feature songs by Rena, Keiichi, and...OISHI!?!
