The fight wemt on for too many eps, and the ending still seemed rushed and half assed!
Look, I know that Amagai kill's himself to regain his honour, but I didn't like it, maybe because I liked the guy, maybe because it was just to convenient

Despite improvements that the filler arc could have benefited from, it was an entertaining ending. Another final moment where a once comrade is shown the rest of pieces and seeks redemption, in this case his own demise. Can't wait to see the Hueco Mundo arc continue.

I think Amagai's weapon ended up in Yamas scabbard not in his stomach lol...and yes terrible ending...but I suppose it had to end one way or the other and at least they gave Amagai some respect throughout this arc...of course it was named after him lol

I thought the ending was not bad, nothing super good but I enjoyed it. Yama is one tough mofo, taking a sword through the side and not even flinching. At least we know he has some sort of humanity under that gruff exterior after he explained what happened. Of course everyone shows up to the battle after it's pretty much over with, which was expected, ah well. All I know is next week we get back to business, should be good!

Come on we all knew this was coming. It always happens in anime like this.
Amagai: I'm here for revenge! You killed my father Yama: This is what really happened. Amagai: You're right! I've been shamed! Now I must kill myself to disappear from this anime forever. Soul Society: Farewell, you will never be mentioned again in this anime. |

Well, overall, it was a decent fight.
At the end, Amagai did not leave his pride as a Captain and sacrificed for his misgivings due to the blindness that his rage consumed him in. The last shot of the episode having Amagai's zanpakuto and haori streaming with the wind, as the sunset went by was beautiful touch to conclude this filler arc once and for all. So, next week is Hueco Mundo arc come back. |

What transition? They're going back to regular continuity. It would the wrong place to place a complicated transition IMO.
