I like how Haruhi runs across the screen at the end.

It's from the Avatar/Sig thread, made by... um... Game8910, so just remember that. ==;;

Where exactly are they? I think they're on a big field or something, but there sure is a lot of flat space. Must be some empty land near a highway or something.

We'll have to wait for the crazy people with cameras to tell us exactly where in Nishinomiya this actually is.

hm not sure if I should be posting this in this thread but did you guys notice the symbolic number of cicadas that each character caught?

Mikuru = 1 (Volume 1 = Melancholy)
Yuki = 4 (Volume 4 = Disappearance)
Koizumi = 7 (Volume 7 = Intrigues)
Kyon = 9 (Volume 9 = Dissociation)

And Finally Haruhi = 12 (Next main story arc possibly)
Strangely enough 1, 4, 7 & 9 are the main story arcs and they happen to capture that same number of cicadas... coincidence?

Hmm, interesting to see a mundane story for Haruhi for once. I haven't read the novels, so I only have a basic idea of this story, but I can't wait for what could happen in the next part.

The episode was descent enough - plainly a filler for a time passing by setup. "summer holiday episode" but what it did well was show us how Kyon is under Haruhi's thumb like nothing else and he fails at summer Homework just like every other male high school student =P

Was fun, plenty of fan service (not panty orientated though, yay - i don't exactlty like getting panty shots throughout an anime) and had its lol moments - yes that wonderful gif

After all that's out of the world with every other episode of Haruhi, having an ordinary one still is enjoyable nonetheless. Heck, maybe I enjoyed it more because of the contrast with every other episode there is, just like how enjoyable the school festival and the last episode was of last seasons.

Don't know why, but I was pretty tickled to see all those physics terms and equations in the OP again, just like with the first season's. It just somehow strikes my fancy.

Also, yay for yutakas.

Been awhile since I read the story, somehow it's different from what I read. Classic though and yes, they are defiantly putting more hip/butt style to Haruhi(I'll join the ass ketchum group :P). Best part was the work on Mikuru's chest, Kyon "I'll retrieve it!". 9.5/10, I wanted a 1-episode, next one should be interesting just to see how they do it.

New OP is lovely, I was quite entertained by it. I like the first one better but this one definitely has its own charm.

As for the Episode itself, I'm honestly surprised they split it into two episodes but the overall effect should be quite pleasing to the fans. I can't wait for Disappearance and Snow Mountain Syndrome though.

I see we have ascended. (To Current Series.)

An idle thought made me rewatch the episode to check something: Yuki truly is a lady of few words, with a total of four this episode. "Kore" and "katta" regarding the mask, "sou" regarding the beetle, and "hai" when trying to give out balloons.

She must be saving up for the inevitable infodump later.

Aye, when she illuminates just what was going on during that "simple summertime fun" episode it ought to be an epic Yuki moment. In the meantime, we can just lose ourselves in her eyes.

I was more mesmerized by her spin in the innertube at the swimming pool.
