Several new bills in the US to try and follow SOPA/PIPA
http://www.infowars.com/cispa-hr-3523-the-new-sopa/
http://www.infowars.com/house-commit...-sharing-bill/ Seriously, no warrants, due process, complete ability of companies to get mass user data. We will tell our children of what the internet once was. |

I didn't even bother reading your links, as they were to Alex Jones' fearmongering-for-a-cheap-buck conspiracy webpages. Sorry, but I'd like to see information from a source that doesn't profit hugely from hyped and twisted fact.

Well... they certainly will try again and will keep trying as long as the MPAA Super Friends have bags of money to try. Freedom is an ongoing process.

Which means they have a rather higher chance of actually passing.

(BTW, its not at all that I dispute in any way that SOPA wasn't still going to be around, I just refuse to get information from conspiracy webpages as they tend always to omit rather important things to fit their audiences' want to be scared and paranoid)

Amazing, here I thought 'Save the children' was the one ploy that could never fail. And as dumb as these laws sound (Along with the new laws sure to spring up the second this one fails), I'd rather not spend any time stressing or worrying about them since there's not a lot I can do to prevent the American government from raping us up the ass. Can't do much to stop a government that's hellbent on becoming progressively more Draconian.

"Save the children" is the feds' latest excuse to screw Megaupload even harder. Now they're claiming the data on the Carpathia Hosting servers may contain child pornography.
So because it contains said child porn, Megaupload can't have the data to assist in their defense. The feds won't unfreeze their assets to let them buy the servers from Carpathia, and nobody else will pay Carpathia to keep the servers running. Carpathia wants to repurpose the servers, obviously, because they want to stop losing thousands of dollars per day. So you'd think the feds would want the data left untouched so they could prosecute the pedos who uploaded the kiddie porn, right? Wrong! They're doing nothing. They just want Carpathia to delete the data to further screw Megaupload, because heaven help us all if Big Content was wrong about how much "pirated" material was actually on the servers! The United States of Corporate America...

I just hope Megaupload has some good lawyers because "just being right" isn't going to go their way at all... its "make an example" time even if the feds totally screw up the prosecution doing it.

IMHO they're the last hope for us free-loving people. But really, they just can't stop, I'm already tired of them and I guess that's what they want to accomplish. Those bills won't stop till the last countermovement has vanished. Politics are being performed as blatant it makes want to tear my hair out. |

They will never give up until they have control over things. That much is from what I've seen, when one bill fails. They will rethink it over, and post a new one with less restrictions, but the same message. Like Kyuu said, "They will not give up on this."

I'm starting to think that it's a case of (other than 2012) the US, who so loves to play World Police, has realized "Hm... we no longer have Bin Laden and the Taliban to chase after big time, so what else shall we start hunting down. Wait, the Internet has been having far too much freedom this whole time! We need to start policing it now!"
You'd think they would realize that this is a BAD idea based on China, but no... if the US gov't ain't policing something worldwide, then it means they think they aren't doing their job.

^ Which is why Ron Paul seems to attract a good portion of people. Due to his isolationist beliefs, that we should stop playing World Police with the entire world. With the way our economy is at the moment. While (information received by Sofiel) China is up to something in their list. Since it seems they've been preparing for something for a long time.
