The words "new birth" can to have more different meanings, maybe they will rebuild the anime from the beginning, like the new full metal alchemist.

FMA was rebuild due the original manga, not just because they wanted money.

Maybe, but considering there's a CG manga with more explanation (but more bullshits too) if they rebuild it using that storyboard....who knows?

The CG manga, of which there are four and none are close to canon (the closest doesn't even have Knightmares), aren't the same as the FMA manga. The FMA manga came first. The CG manga came after the anime.

I know, like full metal panic and more....the manga made after, usually fix more of the anime errors.

It's just my theory.

Any translators in here? Here's what I have in pictures and text so far.

Spoiler for text in those boxes:

The DVD for the 12/5 birthday event will be released on April 23.

Geass Producer: Stage, Musical Versions Considered
posted on 2010-01-06 14:17 EST
Yoshitaka Kawaguchi wants to announce animation project "soon"

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

In an interview that is being published in the February issue of Kadokawa's Newtype magazine this week, Code Geass producer Yoshitaka Kawaguchi said that he and director Goro Taniguchi would be interested in a stage or musical version of Code Geass. He added that he wants to announce an animation project as part of the "New Code Geass Project" effort "soon." However, Kawaguchi took special care not to say that he is officially announcing any specific form that the "New Code Geass Project" will take after the previously revealed manga. He added that he himself does not know what form or format that the second phase of the "New Code Geass Project" will take. Taniguchi himself is not quoted in the interview.

Tomomasa Takuma (Code Geass: Nightmare of Nunnally, Kurogane Communication) is drawing the tentatively titled Code Geass: Shikkoku no Renya (Code Geass: Jet-Black Renya or Code Geass: Renya of the Blackness) manga. Taniguchi is creating the new manga's story concepts; this is the first manga that he is directly scripting himself. The story takes place in the same official Code Geass history as the anime, but in Japan's historical Edo era.

Kawaguchi revealed on the franchise's website that the "New Code Geass Project" will feature the simultaneous releases of serialized comics, music, new products under development, and visual works.

Well, as I said earlier - this pictures DO NOT refer to the new project. Only to the quotes about Lulu, Suzu & Zero.

Well that's pretty cool. Nice to know for certain that we're going to get a new Code Geass anime. Judging from the pics it would like it's going to have Lelouch and Suzaku (which would hopefully mean a remake or AU) but I guess we can't tell for sure yet.

I could be incorrect here, but unless i'm mistaken the Lelouch in all these pictures has longer hair than the Lelouch from R2. This reminds me of the other picture I saw for the birthday event that i've mentioned here before, where it shows a Lelouch with longer than normal hair with the words Revival Re:advent on the pic.

A possible connection? What do you all think, is his hair longer if you compare the Lelouch in the new pictures side by side with Lelouch from R2?

So it seems this was just another tease until the real news comes in. Typical.

On the bright (I guess you could say it is) side, at least we know for sure that an animated project is in the works.

Actually, his hair did grow between seasons. I wouldn't want to deduce anything from just that though.

Lelouch of the Rebellion is just a small portion of geass, heck he kinda died in NoN and isn't the MC but it is still quite good. The only difference is that this one got animated and not NoN.

A new geass series can give a refreshing start

Don't get ahead of yourself, Geass is NO WHERE NEAR Evangelion. They wouldn't even come near the budget that one of those movies have.

Nor would it be a spin off or alternative ending.. who would want to see geass rushed in an hour and a half that would be terrible and crazy..

____

Back on the pics and ANN report..
the pics don't state anything so obviously a picture of Lelouch doesn't mean he is alive, seriously...
Again we are all fussing over nothing, nothing new has been stated only that there will be a new animated something.
The biggest chance getters are: either an OVA series of the entire series (which will have all fun parts cut out and rushed.. so ooh joy for that) or the new manga or NoN gets animated (I think n.o. 1)

I still say it will be all about Lelouch, Clovis and Suzaku having hot, steamy...
...cups of tea.

And it will be awesome.
