The fourth guy.

I'm guessing the fourth guy is the white haired one with the eyepatch, (Karura Itami after a quick wikipedia search).

I'm guessing he's also the "Garuda", one of the feathers that the people in the fairytale world were talking about. The Garuda is technically not a real bird, but a Hindu bird god or something, unlike the hawk, eagle or falcon. So this Itami might be special and that's why we can't see his face yet.

He's paired up with the little sister, which can be seen in the OP (when's she's in the city square, he appears on the TV. This happens for all the other main heroines and their respective partners as well).

however in the final scene of the opening the guy that Kobato is picking up has similar hair color to Takashi but his face is always blocked off. This is also shown in the street to wheat field part where there are the usual 3 plus 1 more blocked off one and you can just make out the hair of the last one as being not silver there as well. Judging by the picture though he is probably the one from the 5th door.

Looking back though the 4th one is probably the guy from the first scene of the fist episode

Actually, in the part where they shown the heroines and their pairing on the big TV screen behind them, we can see that kobato actually has 2 guy shown: karura and the black haired boy watching tv (his name is blocked by credits.) And the guys is numbered, takashi is 3, shuusuke 4, hayato 5, karura 2, the boy watching tv 1. So there are actually 5 of them

Oh, I am more interested in the imouto, Kobato-chan.

I just checked (because I remembered feeling that the dialogue was semi-absurd back then) episode 3 where Shuusuke meets Kobato. At the very end, he goes "Kobato-chan sure is cute. Well, I am glad I don't look like her brother. JUST KIDDING." So he, and thus, everyone of his alter-egos, know that they look exactly the fucking same and that his sister knows it too. Given how she was naked with fucking lights off with him in the same room and under a futon, and the scene that follows strongly suggests that Takashi woke up unexpectedly, I think it's safe to assume she was doing something with one of the alter-egos for sure. I am very very curious as to the psyche of the girl who can act normal around a brother like that lol. Fucking hell. How can she be nice to Shuusuke and distant to Takashi and in love with a third one when she knows everything. Very very interesting girl. Hope she gets her time next week >.>

Asuka is fairly interesting. But as far as charms go, she is currently in the backseat for me. No way she can compete with the intellectual criminal or the shrewd author-cum-waitress or even the, as-of-yet undeveloped imouto, who actually is interesting enough for me to like her from like two very very short scenes, as far as charms go. She is only interesting because of the nature of her relationship with Takashi and the suggestions by Raven.

Just when I thought I had an understanding on this show, it tossed me for a loop again. After Ep5, I'm once again confused.

So did something happen between him and Takauchi or what? What was up with all of that, it was like, cross wall breaking and stuff.

In episode 4 it says Takauchi has been using "Scramble" a lot "because of Gretagard". So when he gets summoned to that place, it looks like Chitose is filling in when that happens. Maybe that's why they can't find the other two in the fairy imaginationland.

If I was not feeling again lost from the show's narrative, I would have thought that I watched another anime... no radio intro, only two fan-service scenes, and again a new huge set of unrelated characters. Was the game like that too? and I also have trouble telling the cast apart, for one some designs are very similar, and also there are a lot of similarly behaving girls

Anyway, thumbs up for picking on RPG-cliché and going meta in the meta-world (that confession scene)

But we are almost half way, and still main characters are introduced, which is not very promising.

That's only your opinion. And a very wrong one at that (my opinion).

I find this show to be brilliantly executed. Everything from the jokes to the fan-service to the storyline to the pace to the characters to what not. It's totally different from your everyday anime and it's all brilliantly done. After all, the dry humor and fan-service is only the icing on the cake. It's a joke, yes, but it's supposed to be a joke. The show itself makes fun of those aspects. You have to be a miser to not love DJ Condor.

I don't understand what's happening much in episode 5. The fan service beginning was removed and been fully dedicated to the story. Takashi might look weak but he is fairly strong when a wannabe popular kid tried to accuse him of peaking. Well he did peak. When the wannabe guy start using force. He unconsciously attack back. And if that hits. That wannabe guy's head probably went flying. I really don't understand this guy. He acts too much timid for himself but the alter or parallel world. His the popular invincible hero. Then their is the caring and understanding incest imouto. I like Kobato more than Asuna. She is... what, to bland? the beginning scene with the confession and stuff. She looks indifferent there but the twist in the end that she actually like if Takashi ask her out was .. a bit unexpected though as the episode hinted. She might start to like Takashi. Well its 2 and half year already.

Alice shows up in the end with the guy in stretcher. I bet the weird okama guy did that. Sucks his energy away.

Things certainly haven't slowed down since the revelation. Now there's apparently a fourth(?) personality in these guys' collective heads, a little crazier than the other three... and something, for certain, is up with Kakeru. This Garuda Darkblack guy doesn't sound good either. But the episode still had its share of lighthearted moments, mostly with Naru and her catsuit.

So there IS a 4th personality named Itami, and he must have some connections to that alternate reality that Takeshi jumps into sometimes since he claimed he was the "true heir to the throne". He seems like a pretty big psycho too. His voice is awesome though.

And we also get a confirmation that Kakeru has multiple personalities as well, I figured that was the case.

It seems like Hiyoko is starting to fall for Shuusuke now, but that scene was just stupidly silly. Only Japan could ever make something like healing a gash into an innuendo.

One thing I'm wondering now is how the heroines are going to fit into this. The only one shown to have any significance so far is Asuka, and that's only with her fantasy-world counterpart.

And I think it's safe to call Naru "delusional".

The 'dressing the wound' sequence had to be the best parody of 'pixellated censorship' ever!
A pitch-perfect example of how to make something seem more risque than it actually is!

I don't know... this anime has some very good ideas, interesting scenes, but the execution is terrible. Non-existent transitions aside, storytelling is all-over the place, a lot of characters are drawing almost the same, and in this episode the most dramatic scene was completely ruined by elevator music. I just hope they manage to tie in the cast to the plot, because we're half way in, and except for the multiple personalities connecting the four guys, absolutely everything else is completely unrelated.

Anyway, why surprised with the fourth personality, he is in the opening

Oh! and +1 for acknowledging that drugs and alcohol exist
