Well well. Surprisingly, the SEA Beta for PSO2 has launched. You can signup here.
A word of warning though: you get ONE free character creation pass, and if you want more characters, you'll need to spend moolah to buy more creation passes. Also, note that if you delete your character, you won't get your creation pass back. I learned this the hard way.

Huh, so it's the official launch. I saw the Early Access tags and thought this was a beta. Well, I guess we ought to make some kind of self protection society or something?
Anyway, invite code if anyone wants to use it: 10036801. I'll be hanging on Ship 01: Feoh.

Which is all well and good, but that signup page doesn't seem to have readily on hand certain needed information. Such as PC system requirements (a bit of Googling found them here), or whether or not it's a truly global launch. And the closest FAQ page I could find... is less than helpful.

Tbh I had no idea JP had an english patch and there were workarounds; had I known that I'd be playing PSO2 JP.
Well, sunk cost fallacy is in effect; I'm playing through the quests atm. In many ways this feels a lot like the PSP games... Also, I really like the gunslash as a weapon. (Newman ranger)

I just finished downloading 14 gigs, installed and play. Nice game, best of dungeon masher out of all. will be directly competing with Onigiri this month.
But man this game is good for Peer to peer game. ill try running torrent while playing. The freemium model is nice, unlike other money grabbing dungeon masher like Elsword and Rusty Hearths. |

Honestly I still think Warframe has the best F2P model, and I like Warframe's dakka a lot more...
But I am having fun with this game, despite the slower pace of things. (Goddamnit why I cannot into sprint.) But it's fast and easy to connect and play, and very smooth and there is no lag so far; all in all I like it. ...I do think that I might have made a mistake with my chara, shoulda made her bust smaller. And while I normally like desert camo, I'm not sure it matches with the Thousand Arms dress, lol.

Holy shit, SEA players. Play park has an offer with one of their Earn Cash programs. Sign up through their Earn Cash program for a trial with File Fetcher and get 5000 Cash, which can be converted into 5000 arks cash for PSO2. This is a tremendously good deal.
Mind, after 7 days File Fetcher will slam you with a USD50 charge, so wait until you get that cash in, then cancel like a hot potato.

Y'know, after about almost 7 hours of playing, with a level 10 Ranger (and I reclassed as Hunter to try it out a little), I really get the feeling that PSO2 is really more of a single player RPG built on MMO trappings.
Also, it's fun enough, but over half a year of Warframe means that I'm just too used to ridiculous amounts of dakka, lol.

Also yes PSO2 is not an MMO.

I must say, Ranger pretty much is more fun for me compared to Hunter or Wizard.

Since the JPN servers are currently under attack, I thought why not make a post here.
Episode 3 is coming soon! http://pso2.jp/ep3/ It will include a new class, "Bouncer"!. The bouncer class will utilise dual blades and Jet boots! Besides the new class a new planet will be introduced, called "harukotan", which resembles a classical japan, plus npc and enemies that are inspired from that era. Furthermore, if you are a gambler, a Casino lobby will make its way into the arks ships, not sure what you can do, but it sounds like you can gamble all your meseta savings away in a few secs! Episode 3 will roll out around august/september The major update will also rebalanced all classes, skills and much more. You can also find most of the information translated on the psublog If you are thinking about to start playing this game, now is the time. With the Limited Quest (MPA) currently available you can level up classes pretty quickly and prepare for the next episode. If you live in the SEA region or if your ISP bought IP addresses from that area, you might need a proxy or vpn to bypass the IP block. |
