Yuuno was glowing like a pregnant woman several months along as he walked beside Nanoha. Everything had gone perfectly. His reservation at the fancy-pancy French restaurant that he had saved up for for 10 months had not only pleased Nanoha but had given her a chance to excuse him from ever spending that much money on her again. There had been some pleasant physical flirting at the dinner table, although Yuuno hadn't worked up the courage to kiss her or anything so bold, he believed he was headed towards at the very least a good-night kiss.

They stopped at the complex where they both lived (although on different floors) and both waited for the other to say something.

Yuuno gulped. "Well, this is it, I guess. I had a great time tonight."

"Mm. Me too." Nanoha looked up at Yuuno shyly and said, "It's still early. Do you think I could... come up to your room?"

Yuuno was so happy with this turn of events that it did not even occur to him to check his room before letting Nanoha in.

That was his first mistake.

"You have a nice room. You like really like hanging things up on your walls, don't you? Ooh! I don't even have this volume! How much did it cost to buy the whole series?"

"Uh... not much... I gathered it little by little..." Yuuno looked around, hoping that some incriminating evidence of his nightly excursions weren't out in the open. While Nanoha was distracted with his manga collection, he deftly grabbed a stray bra and threw it in the back of his closet, just before Nanoha turned around.

"Oh-Em-Ef-Gee!!!" To Yuuno's horror, Nanoha had seen his stuffed animals that he kept at the top of his video-shelves in mint condition. Nanoha exclaimed, "A limited edition Pikachu plushie! I have to have it! How much are you selling it for? I'll give you a thousand dollars for it."

"O.o W-what? I'm not selling-" Yuuno stopped, realizing his manhood was at stake. "I mean, I'm saving it for... a friend! Yeah, a friend that really likes plushies. I mean, I obviously didn't buy it for myself. I don't like cute, fluffy things like..."

"And Hamtaro! Wait, that's not Hamtaro... it's... it's..." Nanoha frowned and then laughed. "I don't actually watch the series, so it's hard to remember all their names..."

"Pashmina..." Yuuno looked away, hoping Nanoha didn't pick up on anything else.

"What? Did you say something?"

"No, nothing... Look, Nanoha, can we do something else?"

"What do you mean? Your room is /so/ cool, Yuuno. It actually reminds me of Fate's growing up, except she had more black randomly thrown places. She would keep all her stuffed animals in one place."

"Mm..." Yuuno blinked and then snapped his head around to vehemently deny, "They're not mine! I'm saving them for a friend! A /friend/!"

Nanoha stopped and stared at him for a moment and then grinned. Before Yuuno even knew what she was doing, she jumped up and snatched a black kitty plushie off the edge of the plushie array. She held its neck in one hand and its tail in the other.

"If you're just saving them for a friend, I could pull off the tail of this one and just buy a replacement, right? You wouldn't ca-"

Yuuno threw himself at Nanoha's feet, tears stinging his eyes, "Okay, okay stop it! Stop it! It's mine! I admit it, it's mine! Just please! Don't hurt my Mr. Snuggle-wuffle!"

Nanoha stared at him for a while longer before giggling and handing over the plushie, which Yuuno hugged with feverish affection.

Nanoha's next words made Yuuno freeze in his tracks.

"You're such a girly-girl, Yuuno." But that wasn't nearly as bad as, "You know, we should go shopping together sometime; I bet you know where all the cutest things are. Us girlfriends gotta stick together, right?"

Yuuno whimpered as plans for marriage and wedding dresses collapsed in his mind.

Part 4: Almost Confrontation
“S-shamal isn’t here right now, you know.”

“Oh?” Nanoha looked at her hand, which was covered by a bloody handkerchief. “It’s nothing; a little nick. You know when she’ll be in? She always makes the cleanest heals.”

“Um… she’s on her lunch break, so she’ll probably be back soon.”

“Oh, okay. I’ll wait then.”

Hayate watched as Nanoha sat down on the edge of a vacant bed, her eyes looking more vacant than Hayate had ever seen them. She was returning Hayate’s gaze either.

“Hayate?”

“What?” Hayate winced at the sharpness of her own voice and amended, “What is it?”

“Why are you here? Don’t you have work? Or are you waiting for Shamal too?”

“Ah… no… I just like it here. It’s… peaceful, when no one else is here.”

“Oh… I guess I ruined that for you today. Sorry.” Nanoha didn’t sound at all sorry, but she didn’t seem all that happy either. Nonchalant. That’s what she was. Nonchalant. Blithe.

“No, no, it’s okay, really.” Hayate took a deep steadying breath and sat back down at the nurse’s chair. “So… how did you get inj-“

“I was careless in the last fight.”

“’The last fight’?” Things had been quite recently. Unless she meant… “The practice spar you had during the morning training? With Fate?”

Nanoha looked over at Hayate then, sending a chill down the latter’s spine, as if daring her to say that name with that sort of affection again. Hayate bit her lip. Nanoha looked away with a sigh, absently fingering the cut through the handkerchief. “No. Fate and I… we fought. Last night. We made up, more or less, before we went to bed, but I stayed up. Couldn’t sleep. How can I sleep knowing, no, wondering what I did wrong? She wouldn’t tell me, but I knew she was hiding something.”

If Nanoha noticed the way Hayate’s body seized up, perhaps with guilt, she made no show of it.

Nanoha sighed and continued, “No, we’ll be all right, I’m sure. I mean, Fate’s entitled to her own secrets, just like I am to mine. It’s not a big deal… I just wish she wouldn’t look so… guilty about it if it didn’t matter… or that she would tell me if it did matter.”

“Nanoh-“ Hayate choked on her words when there was a sudden knocking on the door. She froze like a child caught in the off-limits parent’s bedroom when she heard the voice that went with it.

“Hayate? Are you there?”

Nanoha’s eyes began to focus as curiosity and confusion started stirring up trouble in her mind.

Hayate jumped up from her seat and hurried over to the door, opening it quickly to reveal Fate.

Fate broke into a smile upon seeing Hayate, at first not noticing Hayate’s panicked expression. “Hayate! Good, you’re still here. I have to tell you… why are you…?”

It was then that Hayate stepped back and let the vision of Nanoha answer her half-asked question.

“Oh. Hi Nanoha.”

“Hi.” It was a bit perkier than before, but there was the cold chill of suspicion in her voice. “Did you have plans to meet Hayate here? I suppose that is a conference of sorts…”

Hayate swiveled her eyes from Nanoha back to Fate. Her eyes spoke volumes. ‘You lied to her?’

”It just slipped out, okay!” Fate bit her lip as she made a show of checking her watch. “I was just stopping by to see if Hayate was still haunting her usual lunchtime haunt. I wanted to ask her… something.”

Nanoha got off the bed, and Fate froze in place. Nanoha brushed past her, saying, “I’ll leave you two alone to your ‘asking’ then.”

“Nanoha, wa-“ Fate bit her lip as Nanoha shook her head and continued on her way.

“That went well.” Hayate met Fate’s eyes, and smiled that endearing, You’re hopeless but I can’t hate you for it smile. “You better do something nice for her tonight.”

“I will,” Fate promised. She took another look down the hallway, wondering if she should go with her linger conscience telling her to run after her girlfriend. She glanced at Hayate, and that small resolve crumbled to nothing. “Can I come in?”

“Hm? Oh! Oh, yeah, sure, of course.” Hayate stepped back to let Fate in, checked the hallway behind her, and shut the door. As she turned around, she started, “So what did you want to as-“

And suddenly, Fate’s lips were on hers. Memories of what felt like a thousand years ago came rushing back. For both of them.

Hayate whimpered as Fate let her go and crossed the room, putting distance between them just as Hayate had been ready to fully respond. “Fa-“

“I don’t know what I’m doing anymore, Hayate. I love you. Still.” Fate paused in her pacing and looked up at Hayate with such a pained expression that it broke Hayate’s heart to pieces just to see it. “But I also love Nanoha. I always have.”

“H-How?” Hayate shook her head and answered her own question. “No, I know. But… do you love us in the same way?”

“Yes. No. I don’t know!” Fate stopped in front of the chair and sat down, burying her face in her hands. “I’m starting to spiral downward, Hayate. I’m losing my grip on living. I have to set this right again!”

Hayate moved to touch Fate, but at the last moment, decided against it, stopping just in front of Fate. She kneeled down beside her. “What do you want from me, Fate? Just tell me. If I can do it for you…”

“Tell me you don’t love me too.” Fate’s eyes were stained with tears as she looked at Hayate. “Tell me that the way I feel for you is wrong. That you also believe that I should be with Nanoha. That there is no future in loving you the way that I do. Tell me that cheating on Nanoha is the worst thing I could ever do. That only I can stop this.”

“Only you can stop your pain.” Hayate lifted her hand and gently wiped away Fate’s tears. More fell as if as a result of the gesture. “But I won’t lie to you, Fate. You don’t deserve to be lied to.”

Fate was silent for a long moment, burning a hole in the ground with her fixed gaze. Finally, she choked out a single sentence.

“Will you go with me?”

Hayate’s heart nearly stopped. She had been waiting for those words for six long months. “Go where?”

There was a sad, resigned smile on Fate’s lips. “Go with me… to tell Nanoha that she deserves better than what I would be able to give her anymore.”

Hayate hesitated as she followed Fate’s lead in standing up. “Are you sure this is what you want?”

Fate closed her eyes, clearing her thoughts of all but the most necessary. She opened her eyes and smiled a true smile, one that had been a long time in coming.

“Yes.”

Time seemed to pass by slowly for the colonists of Plymouth. It had been about a month since the unexpected evacuation of their main colony. The first week or so was especially hard for them. Only the essential structures were erected and online from the structure kits they had managed to evacuate with them. Like their Eden brethren, most had to stay in the tubes between structures until Residencies could be constructed to accommodate them. Though their future was foggy, morale remained fairly stable. They all understood that there would be some hardships living on an un-terraformed New Terra. Although the volcanic eruption was unexpected, natural occurrences were something that they had expected to test them and their determination.

Since the evacuation, the colonists rallied together and helped out in anyway they could to get their colony back on its feet. Recently a second mine had been constructed and was generated a high yield of common ore. The increase in ore provided vital building materials for the construction of new structure kits, including Residencies. A small handful had been finished a few days ago. Priority on housing was given to large families and those with children. Friends and co-workers came together to share the few available rooms until more kits could be made.

A particular blond pushed his glasses back up the bridge of his nose. "You alright Nanoha?"

He received a groan in response.

"Work's that bad?"

"You could say that. I love teaching the new workers the ropes, but these young ones...urg."

Since the evacuation, resources had been tight. Even with the new mine operational they needed a lot more common metal to get the colony operational again. As a result, their remote control system wasn't at 100% operation yet. It could handle a handful of vehicles but not as much as it used to. Until they could get a Robot Command Center structure online many of the automated tasks would have to be done manually. That meant training up a lot of workers to handle the various vehicles that colony depended upon.

"I'm sure you can do it, Instructor Takamachi."

"Oh very funny. You make it sound like I'm some kind of drill sergeant or something."

"Ma'am, yes ma'am!"

She sighed and shook her head with a slight smile, "So how are things at the lab, Yuuno?"

With no University, many of the students who were in their last term were brought into the labs to assist with the reconstruction of Plymouth's database and whatever projects were being worked on at the time. For may of the students they looked at it as an opportunity to gain valuable experience and a leg up in being assigned to more high profile projects once they did graduate.

"We're almost done with rebuilding the database. Some people had been taken off the project to work on some of the projects that were saved during the evacuation."

"Oh? Do you know what's going on in that other lab then?"

Last week they had to build a larger lab facility at the edge of the colony. The interior was spacious from what she saw of the plans and they had been requesting a lot of automotive parts recently. Plus they had installed warning lights around the entrances a few days ago when the structure was not to be entered. What they were doing in there when those lights were on she wasn't sure.

"I'm not sure myself. We've been pretty busy at the lab with our own work so I haven't heard anything about the projects in there."

Before either could say anything else, a shout came from behind Nanoha.

"Gather up everyone!"

Nanoha looked over her shoulder before turning her attention back to the phone. "Looks like they're calling a meeting. I'll talk to you later."

"Alright. See you later."

She hung up the phone and jogged over to join her co-workers on the floor to see what the meeting was all about.

"Listen up! It appears that the council has green-lighted a recon mission to the original Eden colony site." People turned to one another, whispering theories about the mission. "As such, they have requested drivers to operate the vehicles they plan on sending in. Since the reason for the evacuation is unknown all control will be done remotely from retrofitted Evacs. The primary recon team will consist of four scouts and several of a new vehicle they had recently developed. What they are not even I was told. Though what I can tell you is that this will be a dangerous mission even if it is by long-distance control. This is strictly by volunteer only. If you want on, come talk with me. That is all."

Familiar Feel

Vivio turned the light off above her bed and slumped down so that she could get some sleep. Everything was perfect, the bed was soft, there were few lights in the room, everything was quiet, and she was quite exhausted. Still, she found herself unable to fall asleep. The answer was right in front of her, and she began to ponder about how she got to where she was right now.

Maybe it was all because she grew up with it. Then again others have grown up under those conditions as well and turned out “normal”. Maybe it was loneliness. Sure, she had a very loving family, had trustworthy close friends, and plenty of people at school interested in her, but she did not have the same, feelings, for them. Maybe she was just screwed up, something was wrong with her to begin with to have these desires of hers. All she knew was that there was this desire, love, and comfort that only those special people could bring out in her.

Zafria was Vivio’s first contact with a familiar, well, guardian beast. Despite her young age at the time she could remember clearly how scary he looked when she first met him. She was so terrified that he was going to eat her in one bite that for the first few days he made sure to look after her in his puppy form. Once she got use to his presence, she felt very secure around him. He was like a big fluffy puppy to her that she could always play with and yet he was also one of the first strong figures in her life that she knew would protect her from anything. Even to this day he would look over her, and would be there if she needed him.

Then there was Arf and oh was that always an adventure for her. That one was a handful to say the least. Now, Arf was a playful girl in her own way. When Vivio was younger Arf would always be in her puppy or child form, running around, doing tomboyish things, and causing some level of havoc. Many a day would Vivio and Arf would be sent to sit in the corner or the in their rooms because of the mischief they caused. Of course as Vivio grew older, so did Arf, and kind of acted like a big sister. Though she had understanding parents and friends to talk to, Vivio always found it easier to ask Arf more personal, feminine questions. Even if she was a familiar, she was still one of her best friends.

Vivio never thought of this as something wrong, many individuals formed some sort of bond with their familiar, but the girl started to realize later that something different about herself. She never could trace what when it was, but at some point the difference between familiar and person blurred. While the rest of the girls dreamed kissing their first boy, Vivio wondered what it would be like to kiss a familiar in human form. Her dreams of her family and friends when she was an adult would include familiars, but not as pets or someone to help her in combat. It was at this point that she started to search on the internet about familiars and their lifestyles. He disk space begin to fill with stories about the creatures (people in her book), pictures of them at work, play, shows and costume, and even a little bit of info on how to summon a familiar.

And as she began to mature, so did her feelings. She would wonder if familiars were just like humans. Unconsciously she started to take note of the two familiars she knew best. Every so often she would take sly peaks at Zafria’s more masculine features. Her questions to Arf about sex increased hoping she would share personal experiences. And as Zafria and Arf started to expand their relationship, Vivio paid more attention to the developments than did the others. She would not flaunt over the idea of getting the two together, but was more interested in their relationship itself. Her curiosity was focused on how the behaved during their dates, what nuances they had that where based on their animal sides and what they considered what romance was. Her picture folder also began to grow with more mature pictures as well, ones that she tried hard to keep Nanoha-mama from finding. Her tastes focused mostly on the romantic side of things, shunning all of those that would treat their familiars as sex objects. Every passing day her secret interest grew.

“What would it be like to have a familiar?” she pondered one night aloud in her room. “It would nice to have a partner I could trust in when I finally go into the military. That’s not to say I don’t want to work with Syn. I wouldn’t want to be partnered up with anyone else but… a familiar would be like an extension of myself. Nanoha-mama wouldn’t worry so much if someone trustworthy was watching my back. And its not like it would be someone just for combat, it would great to have another friend, someone I could room with, spend my extra time with, someone who would spend their nights….” That was the blush she would never forget, when she realized just what she wanted. “It’s not wrong, is it? To have someone you can softly breath on in your sleep, to have strong arms protecting you, to…” And at that moment her research took new light.

Hours upon hours where spend searching for information on familiar creation. The nuances, the requirements, even potential laws she might have to abide to. She began to spend time over at the infinite liberty getting hard to find resources. Of course with Nanoha-mama being the snoop that she is and Yunno-papa knowing nearly anything that was searched in the liberty hiding her interest became even more difficult. She became shaky and nervous about every single creek and bump outside of her room as she compiled more and more information on the subject. Every minuet she though about the subject the more she convinced herself that she could pull it off. “They would be a great help for in combat.” and “Once I do it Nanoha-mama wouldn’t be able to say no to me having a familiar.” And even “I am from the line of the Sankt Kaiser, I would have more than enough magical power to do it on my own.”

But her secret desire for a familiar who was more than just a combat partner was not able to be kept. She only wanted to leave her room for a two minutes, grab some snacks form the kitchen for her and Syn and return to watch some sort of movie or something with her. Unfortunately the best laid plans of mice, men and Vivio where washed away when Fate-mama caught her in the kitchen and began to talk her ear off by asking how she was doing in school, what was new, and some things that she had been up to at work. When she returned she noticed that Syn was staring intensely at something on her monitor. It took the girl a moment to realize what her friend was looking at.

“S S S SY SYN!” The girl dropped the snacks she had and turn beat red. A similarly red faced Syn looked in Vivio’s direction with a face of both “I got dirt on you” and “what the hell is this crap”.

The blue hair girl tried to get her composure and put on her best grin, “I didn’t know you were into this kind of stuff.” Syn tried to hide the fact that she was overly embarrassed by the content of her friend’s computer but was failing miserably at it.

”its its…”

“Its exactly what it looks like? I mean, wow, is this what gets you all wet. If I would have know that I would have wore fox ears a long time ago.”

“SYYYYYNNN!!!!!”

“And it looks like you have it for the guys and the girls”

Vivio blushed even darker

“But seriously, you are really thinking about this aren’t you.”

The rest of that night was spent in deep conversation. Syn was shocked about this side of Vivio that she never saw before, and yet she wanted to help her. They figured that between the two of them they could get all the supplies they would need. Finding space would not be an issue either, with so many important relatives there was no doubt they would be able to sneak into somewhere private to perform the ritual. But there was still on thing that they couldn’t decide on.

“Sooo,” Syn leaned forward to pick a snack off the bed, “what kind of familiar do you want?”

Vivio laid back on her bed and looked at the ceiling, “I don’t know, I don’t what its is that I really want.”

“How about a bird, a nice strong guy with wings…”

“umm, isn’t that kind of… a little too… How do I say this, exotic for a familiar?”

“That’s true Vi, that and if he has wings in humane forum that might make things uncomfortable as a screw buddy.”

“SYN!” The girl received a dirty look back. “Ok… maybe I do want someone that could be a little bit more… ferialinthatsortofthing but! I think that simple would be best. Besides,” Vivio pulled over some of her research, “this spell over here states that the form that the familiar takes can be representative of the masters inner self or inner wishes. I guess that means I’ll get what I really feel what is best for me, even if I don’t know it.”

“So then, what about gender?” Syn asked.

Vivio sat up to respond. “Sex…”

“Please?”

“Mou… you know what I mean.”

“I know Vi.”

“Well umm… I was thinking maybe…” Vivio pushed her fingers together, “Both?”

And for the umpteenth time that night Syn replied with a perverted look on her face.

“Two familiars Syn! I swear, if all pinked haired girls are dumber than bricks then blue haired ones have their minds permanently stuck in the landfill.”

“Soo, you want two then…”


“I should have enough mana.”

“Well then you be livening the dream then girl. Go Go Threeway!Vivio.”

“Mouuuu”

Things were not as simple as they seemed that night. Sneaking out all the items they needed without attracting any suspicion turn out to not be an easy task. They had to take the idea of the $3,000 toilet seat to a whole new level by checking out all the necessary books as well as purchasing the materials they needed along with other stuff they didn’t. If any questions were arouse they partners in crime felled back on school projects. Also, finding the right location proved difficult as well. The Mutibattlefield Training Simulator that was present on the base where Nanoha was stationed at proved to be the best option, but two girls showing up for just one night for training would look two suspicious. Many an evening was booked as training exercises so they would not look out of place. To make it look real they used their time training to scope out the various parts of the urban setting to find the best place to perform the ritual. In total, two months passed before they could get everything in order.

The night was a warm one, few people were on base, and no one thought twice about the duffle bags the two girls where carrying into the training field as it was normal by this time. After a half an hour the girls were convinced that no one was monitoring them so they went ahead and set up shop in one of the buildings they had scoped out. Once everything was in order Syn turned to her friend and asked her if everything was alright. With a nod from the blond she stepped back and watched from the sidelines as Vivio begin the ritual.

It was a strange yet comforting feeling that emerged when the rural started. Vivio felt as though her whole soul was expanding, flowing through the air and pulsing through the magic circle glowing on the ground. She poured over the lines of the spell each one increasing her excitement that her wish was finally coming true. But as the rite passed on, so did the fatigue. Each passing phrase became harder on the seventeen year old. Syn cried out to make her friend stop, but it was to know avail, Vivio breathed out the last words of the rite and felt a warmth flow through, then out of her.

She awoke to the cold white ceiling of the local infirmary, and judging by the lighting, it was well in the afternoon of some other day.

“Vivio, you are awake?”

Vivio rose slightly and looked at the woman standing off to the side of her bed.

“Mama?”

The girl was too exhausted to be worried about any kind of punishment, instead she focused on those that were in her room. Her eyes shifted from Nanoha to a worried Fate-mama getting up from her chair to Yunno-papa sitting next to the window reading through the notes she used for the summoning ritual. Then without warning a calico face invaded her view.

‘MISSTRESS!’ She heard a female voice resonate in her heart, ‘You’re awake’ This hyperactive cat then proceeded to nuzzle against Vivio’s face. ‘We were so worried about you.’

“ummm…” Looking downward she noticed that there was another feline laying at the base of her feet. It was much lager tabby that the calico now licking her cheek with dark gray fur. Slowly it looked over at her and nodded politely.

“Mistress.” A firm male voice echoed in her heart.

Vivio looked back at her mother, but before she could speak Yunno looked up from the notes.

“You seemed to have done your research here. This are rather complete and high level spell you have written down.”

“Vivio,” The girl turned back to Nanoha, “If you wanted to have a familiar, you could have asked us. You didn’t have to go behind our backs, we would have helped you.”

The poor blond was shocked, Nanoha was not angry at her.

“However, because you did go behind our backs you are grounded for four weeks.”

Vivio didn’t have it in her to fight her mother on that.

“Mou… I was worried about you.” Nanoha then decide to hug her daughter tightly and was quickly joined by Fate.

“un…. Thank you Mama…”

‘Mistress’s moms! I cant breath!’

The two older women retracted and looked down at the feline that was squished in their hugging.

“Oh um… Sorry umm…” Fate apologized. “ummm…. What’s your name?”

‘Name’ the calico looked at Vivio. ‘Mistress, what is my name?’

Vivio looked hard at the cat sitting against her chest. Slowly she picked her up getting a goofy grin out of her.

“Your name is…” She though about it for a second. “Stephanie”

“Yea! I like that name!”

Fate petted Stephanie “Quite the active one aren’t you?”

“Is that good or bad?”

“Active huh?” Vivio looked down at the tabby still sitting at her feet like he was keeping watch. “What about him?”

“Oh him,” Yunno sat up “When I got here he was so defensive around the doctors, he seemed to lighten up a bit more when one of us were around though…”


“Humm…” Vivio pondered again, prompting the male cat to look in her direction. “I will name you… Thorn”

“If that is what you wish for my Mistress, then I will accept that name.”

“Yes and umm…” Vivio started to get flush, “please don’t call me ‘Mistress’ it doesn’t really suite me… call me Vivio.”

“Ok” Stephanie exclaimed.

“Now then,” Nanoha used her motherly tone, “you need to get your rest, we will see you tomorrow sometime, ok dear.”

“Yes mama.”

“Good, have a good evening.”

“Ok…”

As the adults left Vivio looked at her familiars; Stephanie stretching out on top of her to get comfortable and Thorn still keeping lookout at the base of the bed. She now had part of what she always wanted, now she needed become not their “Mistress” but their friend.

Thank you those in the FFC that gave me some ideas as well as pushed me to write this.

Wow, that was good. I love Syn's teasing, that must have been awkward. They kind of seem like criminals when it takes them 2 months to "set things up". I want more Stephanie and Thorn. Thorn seems like he'll be fun to tease/play with.

His reservation at the fancy-pancy French restaurant that he had saved up for for 10 months had not only pleased Nanoha but had given her a chance to excuse him from ever spending that much money on her again. That was his first mistake.

"You have a nice room. You like really like hanging things up on your walls, don't you? Ooh! I don't even have this volume! How much did it cost to buy the whole series?"

"Uh... not much... I gathered it little by little..." Yuuno looked around, hoping that some incriminating evidence of his nightly excursions weren't out in the open. While Nanoha was distracted with his manga collection, he deftly grabbed a stray bra and threw it in the back of his closet, just before Nanoha turned around.

"Oh-Em-Ef-Gee!!!" To Yuuno's horror, Nanoha had seen his stuffed animals that he kept at the top of his video-shelves in mint condition. Nanoha exclaimed, "A limited edition Pikachu plushie! I have to have it! How much are you selling it for? I'll give you a thousand dollars for it."

"O.o W-what? I'm not selling-" Yuuno stopped, realizing his manhood was at stake. "I mean, I'm saving it for... a friend! Yeah, a friend that really likes plushies. I mean, I obviously didn't buy it for myself. I don't like cute, fluffy things like..."

"And Hamtaro! Wait, that's not Hamtaro... it's... it's..." Nanoha frowned and then laughed. "I don't actually watch the series, so it's hard to remember all their names..."

"Pashmina..." Yuuno looked away, hoping Nanoha didn't pick up on anything else.

Nanoha stopped and stared at him for a moment and then grinned. Before Yuuno even knew what she was doing, she jumped up and snatched a black kitty plushie off the edge of the plushie array. She held its neck in one hand and its tail in the other.

"If you're just saving them for a friend, I could pull off the tail of this one and just buy a replacement, right? You wouldn't ca-"

Yuuno threw himself at Nanoha's feet, tears stinging his eyes, "Okay, okay stop it! Stop it! It's mine! I admit it, it's mine! Just please! Don't hurt my Mr. Snuggle-wuffle!"

Nanoha stared at him for a while longer before giggling and handing over the plushie, which Yuuno hugged with feverish affection.

Nanoha's next words made Yuuno freeze in his tracks.

"You're such a girly-girl, Yuuno." But that wasn't nearly as bad as, "You know, we should go shopping together sometime; I bet you know where all the cutest things are. Us girlfriends gotta stick together, right?"

Yuuno whimpered as plans for marriage and wedding dresses collapsed in his mind.

“Pistttt…” a set of glowing eyes peeked up from the blond’s side. “Pisssttt… you awake Thorn?” No response came form the larger cat at the base of the bed. Slowly she rose up as not to disturb her seeping mistress and crawled to the end of the infirmary bed. “Thorn! Wake up!” Quickly she pawed her counterpart until his head rose up and turned towards her.

“What is it Stephanie?”

“Are you hungry?”

The darker feline did not seem amused at that question.

“You know Thorn, we have been here since last night and not once have we been fed. I’m getting kind of hungry and I don’t know if I could sleep like that.”

“Hummm…” The large feline pondered, “this is true… but where are we going to get some food at?”

“I guess we will just have to look around then.”

After inspecting the dark room for a moment Thorn lifted his body up and moved off the bed and onto the floor, “well, these people seem trustworthy; I believe that we can go out to find something to eat for a short while.”

”YEA!” The calico hoped off the bed and walked up to her partner “Lets get some foo… how do we open this door?”

“Easy…” Thorn reached up to the handle on his hind legs, turning the device and opening the door at the same time. Both felines made it into the hall and looked around. Steph raised her nose in the air and gave it a good whiff…

“eww… it stinks… but I think,” she turned down one direction, “no I know there is something is editable this way”

The two familiars walked down the hall, Stephanie in lead with Thorn prowling behind her. A turn and two later they found their target, some sort of metal box that had the smell of food pouring out of it.

“Thorny” The dark striped cat did not seem pleased at the nick name “I think this is your department.”

“shouldn’t we as…”

“Hey you cats! Get away from there!” An orderly yelled out at the felines, making them run off.

Up some steps and around even more corners the pair finally found it fit to stop running away. This time Thorn did the sniffing and found a open door that seem to emanate the smell of substance. However the only thing they saw was a little girl in a bed.

“Oh, my apologies” Thorn bowed even though the girl would not hear him “we should look…”

“Kitty?” The little girl looked down at the two at her doorway.

“What should we do Stephanie?” The Dark striped feline looked at his partner

“What are you doing here kitties?”

“I don’t know but…” the calico walked up to the little girl, “something smells strange about her. I think something is wrong” With that she leapt up on the bed and sniffed the girl closer. In return she was petted behind the ears.

“What about you big kitty?”

Thorn looked to the side for a moment, wondering if it would be ok but ditched his concerns and gently got up on the bed with the girl, making sure not to disturb her.

“Awww you are a cute little big kitty” Thorn received a good scratching behind his ears. “And so are you little miss spotty cat.”

Steph let out a content meow at the praise and licked the girls face. Then she turned her attention to half eaten plate of food on the table next to her.

“Do kitties want some food?” The little girl asked. “You can have mine if you like.” She slowly picked the plate of food off the table, apparently in pain while doing it, and sat it down where both cats could get to it. “Its ok, I wasn’t that hungry to begin with.”

Stephanie was quick to eat the meal, but Thorn looked at the girl for a moment to seek approval. After a slight nod he too ate the food left on the tray and both familiars got a good petting while the girl giggled at the sight. Once finished Thorn did the best he could to say “thank you” and leapt off the bed followed by Steph.

“Bye, Bye kitties!” The little girl waved.

The dark striped feline turn his head and nodded back at the girl before leaving the room. Shortly on his return back to his mistresses room his female counterpart jumped on top of him.

“Stephanie…”

“What? I want a rid… and um can we visit her again?”

Thorn continued on his way, “Yes, I think we should if Mistress approves.”

“She wants us to call her Vivio you know… and I think she would approve, maybe even visit herself.”

There was one question that lingered in the mind of many that had seen the sale, why the white devil would sell three kids, known to be her favorite kind of toy, to such low price? There had to be a reason, a really important one, to make her do something like that. It was simple, at least for the white devil.

The red haired, whose name was Vita, was useless for anything that she ordered to do, not because she was a total klutz, as many thought, it was because the girl always destroyed something intentionally. It was her form of rebelling against her master without doing it directly. It wasn’t as she hadn’t tried to defy her master directly it was because her body couldn’t handle more damage. She stopped, not because she had decided, it was because the guardian of her master had recommended that. It was the only person that she trusted.

The blond, named Yuuno, was a different story. In his childhood he had developed a strange fascination to reading. He always neglected his work and left to the library or took one of the books and read it while he was supposed to be washing the dishes. Shamal had supported his passion for reading and always tried to hide all the suspicious from Nanoha but there were times when the brunette realized what the blond was doing.

Vivio, the blonde, was perhaps the worst. Contrary to the other two, she tried her hardest to accomplish her tasks but her clumsy nature always got in the way and she always ended up doing a mess, breaking dishes, etc. But she was also the luckiest of the three as she had the favor of the Lord of Cranagan, who had always liked the blonde for her interesting appearance or, in other words, her interesting eyes.

The relationship between them was a little complicated. Although the two siblings loved each other, as one would expect from both, the two of them barely spoke to the other. As their raising was different, one studying while the other was hard working. The red headed girl was mean to the siblings, for no reason at all, or to release her anger on someone. As Vivio was a pacifist, she just took the punishment from Vita. Yuuno on the other hand, returned the violence to her.

Now, Nanoha would pass this “mistakes”, as they gave her a reason to play with these three, if there wasn’t for two little details that was very important: Cooking and couch. The reasons behind this were simple. The cooking was no problem except that it was made by Shamal and her cooking skills were… dissatisfying to say something. And about the couch, Nanoha always liked to snuggle when sleeping so when Shamal slept on the couch, it was painful for her as she couldn’t sleep alone.

And Shamal did these things for one reason: Nanoha playing with her slaves. And Nanoha preferred more the company of her lover than having fun with her slaves. And, as long as those three were there, the temptation of plating with them was much. And deciding that the only way to avoid this was selling them, he decided to make a bargain of the three which leads us into the current situation where the three kids were transported to the Testarossa manor. The one with them, a pink haired woman, was the guardian of Nanoha and Shamal. Although not much was known about her, only that she had appeared and asked for a job in the Raising Heart and was given one, she was a nice although very serious person.

“You are going to behave, alright?” Signum ordered to Vita. Riding a carriage, the four of them were directing to the Testarossa manor, at the highest point of the little town.

“Why do I have to? It´s not like they would know it´s me.” She answered, cocky at her abilities. She was known to be quite sneaky thanks to her short size.

“Just don’t do it. Although Lord Precia is not as bad as Nanoha, there is no Shamal in there to save you.”

“Huh? As if I needed that woman, I could endure all of that.”

“I prefer if you didn’t. After all you almost died the last time.”

“Besides,” Yuuno interrupted their conversation. “You didn’t do all that bad things intentionally. You did that because you are so dumb, isn’t that right?”

“Big bro.” Vivio whispered. She knew that they would start fighting anytime soon.

“What did you just said ferret ling?”Vita asked roaring at the blond.

“Just the truth, bean girl.” The boy said as calmly as possible.

“Why you…” Vita roared once again and was about to hit the blond when the pink haired stopped her.

“We have arrived.” She just announced stoically, as if the kids inside the carriage weren’t about to fight.

Last time I write before sleeping. Actually no but sounds good.

“I guess we will just have to look around then.”

After inspecting the dark room for a moment Thorn lifted his body up and moved off the bed and onto the floor, “well, these people seem trustworthy; I believe that we can go out to find something to eat for a short while.”

”YEA!” The calico hoped off the bed and walked up to her partner “Lets get some foo… how do we open this door?”

“Easy…” Thorn reached up to the handle on his hind legs, turning the device and opening the door at the same time. Both felines made it into the hall and looked around. Steph raised her nose in the air and gave it a good whiff…

“eww… it stinks… but I think,” she turned down one direction, “no I know there is something is editable this way”

The two familiars walked down the hall, Stephanie in lead with Thorn prowling behind her. A turn and two later they found their target, some sort of metal box that had the smell of food pouring out of it.

“Thorny” The dark striped cat did not seem pleased at the nick name “I think this is your department.”

“shouldn’t we as…”

“Hey you cats! Get away from there!” An orderly yelled out at the felines, making them run off.

Up some steps and around even more corners the pair finally found it fit to stop running away. This time Thorn did the sniffing and found a open door that seem to emanate the smell of substance. However the only thing they saw was a little girl in a bed.

“Oh, my apologies” Thorn bowed even though the girl would not hear him “we should look…”

“Kitty?” The little girl looked down at the two at her doorway.

“What should we do Stephanie?” The Dark striped feline looked at his partner

“What are you doing here kitties?”

“I don’t know but…” the calico walked up to the little girl, “something smells strange about her. I think something is wrong” With that she leapt up on the bed and sniffed the girl closer. In return she was petted behind the ears.

“What about you big kitty?”

Thorn looked to the side for a moment, wondering if it would be ok but ditched his concerns and gently got up on the bed with the girl, making sure not to disturb her.

“Awww you are a cute little big kitty” Thorn received a good scratching behind his ears. “And so are you little miss spotty cat.”

Steph let out a content meow at the praise and licked the girls face. Then she turned her attention to half eaten plate of food on the table next to her.

“Do kitties want some food?” The little girl asked. “You can have mine if you like.” She slowly picked the plate of food off the table, apparently in pain while doing it, and sat it down where both cats could get to it. “Its ok, I wasn’t that hungry to begin with.”

Stephanie was quick to eat the meal, but Thorn looked at the girl for a moment to seek approval. After a slight nod he too ate the food left on the tray and both familiars got a good petting while the girl giggled at the sight. Once finished Thorn did the best he could to say “thank you” and leapt off the bed followed by Steph.

“Bye, Bye kitties!” The little girl waved.

The dark striped feline turn his head and nodded back at the girl before leaving the room. Shortly on his return back to his mistresses room his female counterpart jumped on top of him.

“Stephanie…”

“What? I want a rid… and um can we visit her again?”

Thorn continued on his way, “Yes, I think we should if Mistress approves.”

“She wants us to call her Vivio you know… and I think she would approve, maybe even visit herself.”

“I think that will be fitting of Mistress. And…” He looked back, “I hope that girl would be alright.”

“Oohh, big strong kitty got a soft spot huh?” Stephanie hummed out.

Thorn ignored the comment as he walked into Vivio’s room.

Lolz, poor kitties. Who was that girl? I wonder....

There was one question that lingered in the mind of many that had seen the sale, why the white devil would sell three kids, known to be her favorite kind of toy, to such low price? There had to be a reason, a really important one, to make her do something like that. It was simple, at least for the white devil.

The red haired, whose name was Vita, was useless for anything that she ordered to do, not because she was a total klutz, as many thought, it was because the girl always destroyed something intentionally. It was her form of rebelling against her master without doing it directly. It wasn’t as she hadn’t tried to defy her master directly it was because her body couldn’t handle more damage. She stopped, not because she had decided, it was because the guardian of her master had recommended that. It was the only person that she trusted.

The blond, named Yuuno, was a different story. In his childhood he had developed a strange fascination to reading. He always neglected his work and left to the library or took one of the books and read it while he was supposed to be washing the dishes. Shamal had supported his passion for reading and always tried to hide all the suspicious from Nanoha but there were times when the brunette realized what the blond was doing.

Vivio, the blonde, was perhaps the worst. Contrary to the other two, she tried her hardest to accomplish her tasks but her clumsy nature always got in the way and she always ended up doing a mess, breaking dishes, etc. But she was also the luckiest of the three as she had the favor of the Lord of Cranagan, who had always liked the blonde for her interesting appearance or, in other words, her interesting eyes.

The relationship between them was a little complicated. Although the two siblings loved each other, as one would expect from both, the two of them barely spoke to the other. As their raising was different, one studying while the other was hard working. The red headed girl was mean to the siblings, for no reason at all, or to release her anger on someone. As Vivio was a pacifist, she just took the punishment from Vita. Yuuno on the other hand, returned the violence to her.

Now, Nanoha would pass this “mistakes”, as they gave her a reason to play with these three, if there wasn’t for two little details that was very important: Cooking and couch. The reasons behind this were simple. The cooking was no problem except that it was made by Shamal and her cooking skills were… dissatisfying to say something. And about the couch, Nanoha always liked to snuggle when sleeping so when Shamal slept on the couch, it was painful for her as she couldn’t sleep alone.

And Shamal did these things for one reason: Nanoha playing with her slaves. And Nanoha preferred more the company of her lover than having fun with her slaves. And, as long as those three were there, the temptation of plating with them was much. And deciding that the only way to avoid this was selling them, he decided to make a bargain of the three which leads us into the current situation where the three kids were transported to the Testarossa manor. The one with them, a pink haired woman, was the guardian of Nanoha and Shamal. Although not much was known about her, only that she had appeared and asked for a job in the Raising Heart and was given one, she was a nice although very serious person.

“You are going to behave, alright?” Signum ordered to Vita. Riding a carriage, the four of them were directing to the Testarossa manor, at the highest point of the little town.

“Why do I have to? It´s not like they would know it´s me.” She answered, cocky at her abilities. She was known to be quite sneaky thanks to her short size.

“Just don’t do it. Although Lord Precia is not as bad as Nanoha, there is no Shamal in there to save you.”

“Huh? As if I needed that woman, I could endure all of that.”

“I prefer if you didn’t. After all you almost died the last time.”

“Besides,” Yuuno interrupted their conversation. “You didn’t do all that bad things intentionally. You did that because you are so dumb, isn’t that right?”

“Big bro.” Vivio whispered. She knew that they would start fighting anytime soon.

“What did you just said ferret ling?”Vita asked roaring at the blond.

“Just the truth, bean girl.” The boy said as calmly as possible.

“Why you…” Vita roared once again and was about to hit the blond when the pink haired stopped her.

“We have arrived.” She just announced stoically, as if the kids inside the carriage weren’t about to fight.

Last time I write before sleeping. Actually no but sounds good.

Wow i'm surprised Yuuno isn't dead from all the beatings from Vita.

@Thread: As much as I love the speculation game of Satashi's gender, we really should stop. It's not like finding out will change our lives forever and that the world will never be the same....right?
