what's more unbeliavable is that Takamura could distinguish Sendo and Date's voice between the entire crowd
Ippo isn't a mini Takamura, people loves him , they're mad at him because they wanted more than just a one hit KO.

But that doesn't mean Sendo is mini-Takamura. Sendo's still way more likable. |

Takamura has never really had a strong fanbase in the manga. Even when the audience supports him, it's usually because he's Japanese (esp. when he fought Hawk) and not because he's Takamura.

I believe that's a very clever idea of Morikawa. It wouldn't be the same if Takamura, besides his skill as a boxer, it would be a popular boxer like Sendo in his city. Takamura is like those stars that don't care fanbase and they do what they want to do... i'm thinking in Dennis Rodman's scandals.
Takamura's background as a rich boy who only wants to do things in his own way completes the idea that Morikawa always thought Takamura as a punk who founded in Kamogawa and boxing a way to focus his talent. Because besides boxing Takamura is just a spoiled boy, i don't think that he is even a mature person, he's still a child looking for acknowledgement, but he wants to do it in his own way. Yeah... Hanamichi Sakuragi is the same... but that idiot did it to impress a girl
