This time, I'd like to have the banners mention what anime/manga it came from, because I often wonder it when I see a pretty one.

Excuse me, but I believe this kind of question isn't exactly anything respectful.
For starters, the objective of such contest is to give a new "face" for the forums and allow members to have fun with this.

Until I'm very wrong, such detail is absolutely obsolete. if you are however getting interested because of this, I think this contest isn't exactly what you would expect.
There is nothing good in creating such kind of banner with that mindset.

I just logged in and the first thing that showed up was that little weird tab and before reading I was like "WHATTF????!" and there were little X's around it and I just couldn't help "OMG"ing xD

I'll see if I can do anything for this

Ooh, I really like this one. Only suggestion I have is to tone down the glow. It's making me have a hard time focusing on things.

Oh, and I haven't seen any yet, so... I made those edge-checker things that we had last competition that I thought helped a lot.

For those who don't know, just put this on both sides of your entry to make sure it will blend into the rest of the gradient at the top if yours gets chosen.

I know global messages exist, but wow, that was almost a 'pop-up ad snatching attention' worthy one' x.x

Anyways, the cookietrail led me here. Friendship and family sounds like a sweet theme, I think I'll merely be an observer since this is the first time I've heard Asuki run something like this and check out who Kairin is.
Good luck to the rest of you and have fun

So knowing there's a theme, last years one was of... freedom? Flight?
I also thought I'd got banned or reported or something like that xD It was scary O_O Anyways, good luck to all participants~

Those are useful for in-post checks when submitting. For quick repeated tests, there is also a page you can use:

There are times when even the creator doesn't know the name of the characters in his/her own banners.

I for once, don't have the slightest idea who the characters in my own banner are.

You need to leave the edges blank so that it fits with the rest of the gradient.

I also want to enter but using Doujin Game characters is permitted?

I may think so since there is a Vocaloid Banner alredy.

It would appear that you have applied an effect to all the edges of your banner.

As Takeru already said, the banner must blend with the forum gradient, wich means effects such as glows in edges (left and right) are not allowed.

o gods... usually there are a few that are cute and a lot of sucky..... these are ALL pretty cute so far though some need gradient or edge touch up. A few suffer from too much "fog / white out".

To the moderators: are you going to collate entries into a single thread without comments? Its a bit hard finding the banners amongst all the comments and signature art.

The first post of the "Nomination Stage" thread normally has all the banners grouped together, for people to select their favourite three which will proceed to the next (vote) round. That stage is only really used because the vote stage uses the standard poll, which only supports 10 entries (or 20 now, if you're a moderator).

Edit: To answer your question directly: yes we'll collate them.
