It probably not G-Reco.. It's too soon for that.
What do you think Brightman?

It will be origin, no other series would really be appropriate for an anniversary really.

Sunrise just registered the g-reco.net domain last month... Usually that's a sign that something's about to be announced.

Next Gundam Ace issue will have info on the Origin anime... But since that's already been announced I don't see why they would need to do it again?

Origin would be too long for an OAV series.

A 24 episode anime would be the perfect number for Origin really, unless they added a lot of old Gundam stuff back in as filler.

A 24-episode series can translate to a 12-episode OVA, with about 1 hour per episode. That has been done in Gundam.

12 episodes OVA? With a 7 episodes Unicorn, that took 5 years. Then it would took... 8 years!

You might want to release 2 episodes per years, stretching from the 35th to 40th anniversary.

Unicorn's schedule is unique. None of the other OVAs took that long.

Yup, which is about the same amount of time it'll take Anno to release all of the Rebuild of Evangelion films I wouldn't put it past them to do something like that again considering how Unicorn remained popular even with the longevity of the release period and the fact that they can sell more models like this.

But a Gundam The Origin OVA animated by the same team (Sunrise Studio #1) will probably take equally long... Previous OVA series were 30 minutes or less per episode. And even then something like 08th MS team took 3 years.

Well, if it's quality people want, it might just be worth the wait. Or the studio might have learned something and can speed up the process.

Saint Seiya did something like that a couple of years ago. A 31 episode OVA (30 minutes each episode) released two episodes at a time. It took almost 6 years to complete.

In that particular case one can say it actually took 22 years to complete

But I think that was more like two OVA series than one (with long break in between) though, no?

Bleach fan will have to go through the same thing, which is hilarious since Kubo admitted of taking inspiration from Saint Seiya when making Bleach.

It was weird release schedule. The OVA as a whole is called "The Hades Chapters", but that itself is split into 3 sections (Sanctuary, Inferno, and Elysium).

They would release two 30-minute episodes every month for three to four months stray, go on a long break, then release more episode at the same rate with a longer waiting period between the three sections.

Also, Inferno itself had a really long break period half way through.

but if it has the same graphic and animation quality of unicorn, i would gladly and patiently wait for each episode like UC... with great quality, come great expectancy...

Interesting picture... G-Reco was rumored to be done by a revived Studio 2 (the one that did Escaflowne and Cowboy Bebop before splitting off to become Bones... But still managed to do Overman King Gainer and Planetes afterwards) but I guess that studio is really history. Studio 1 last worked with Tomino on Turn A Gundam. Also recently there was a leak that Tomino's latest "Gundam show" would have a PV shown this Friday.... We shall see.

The pic also says G-Reco is coming out in the spring btw
