Finally, everyone is back to their body.
Caesar made things a lot more difficult for our guys. It looks like Zoro is right. They do need to get more serious. Beating Caesar is not gonna be easy, that's for sure. So far, they're slowly pushing forward.

Pause! Two year long pause please! And mean while redo all the episodes after water seven. Cut off all the pointless running scenes which make Luffy look super slow. Perfect all the fighting scenes which also make Luffy look slow and weak. Current OP anime is complete shit and makes the OP look bad in comparison to Bleach and Naruto... even though the manga has no competition, it is far the best out of these shonen mass hits.

I must ask.. have you seen old episodes at all when the anime still was as good as manga? Do you rather eat microwave Pizza than real one made in restaurant? I really don't understand people who don't understand and value quality.

I'd rather eat the rotten asshole of a road kill skunk then ever try to watch this show again. If i can just save one person from this wretched pile of dung it was worth the few seconds it took to expel these demons.

But I have to disagree with your idea of the pause. I dropped bleach completely because neither manga nor anime were interesting enough to make me watch/read it on... for Naruto, even though I continue to follow the manga, I dropped the anime because of FILLERS. Of those "big 3 shonen-fighting-manga" only One Piece manages to make me follow both the manga and anime. I mean got Naruto maybe around 200 episodes or more of filler episodes, while One Piece is probably under 50. The idea of adding a few extra scenes and stretching the episodes has IMO paid off. The only negative point I see is that fillers can be mostly SKIPPED, which is not possible with the stretched/extra scenes. But overall I still prefer the way the One Piece anime team handles it.

But it only looks "bad" ever since crunchyroll started to stream... now HQ fansubs are delayed by multiple weeks, and those who are not from USA and therefore cannot directly use crunchyroll, can only watch that LQ ripped s**t. Not to mention the bad crunchyroll subtitles themselves... did you forget how luffy's "gomu gomu" attack subtitles used to be animated like true art? I miss the fansubs...

How about reairing for the new and young fans
. this is how Gintama does. and is very effective. it maintains its popularity and even increases adding newcomers and getting the whole picture of the what gintama is all about. Not to mention those gintama matsuri festival, which looked like a concert, has also added its popularity

The last episode I've seen was back in the fishman island but I watched the latest episode to see if it's improved.
Looks like they're still adding a recap at the start of every episode. The episode doesn't start until 5mins in. Nami and Sanji's bodies are switched back, bad guys realize the good guys are alive and inside, and everyone has decided on a plan of action to take. It's probably not a good episode to make a judgement, but it felt slow, and nothing much has happened. I can see where they padded the episode in order to fit 1 chapter. -Still shots of individual straw hat members -showing us the gas outside twice (Around 8:50 and 15:40 it's the same scene, same gas animation but zoomed out), -Caesar Clown laughing, looking at the screen, looks left, right, then back at the screen -Zoro's scene, they added flashbacks and made him walk for longer before telling Luffy to stop messing around -More still shots of individual straw hats Countless other anime has breaks between seasons. Fairy tail has taken a break. To Aru Kagaku no Railgun had a break and now the new season is just amazing in quality. I've seen worse but I'm just saying that One Piece anime has the potential to be great. It has the action, comedy and story. If only it fits more into an episode than dragging things out in order to buy time for the manga to pull ahead. Doesn't seem like a lot of people discuss the episodes in this thread either. Maybe if there were more happening in the episodes. Anyways, the anime is not for me. I'll be sticking to the manga

Sometimes I feel, that Oda stuffs so much confusing things in his manga, that anime would have at least some content in it, but that won't help the outcome. Only PAUSE can raise the quality, but as long as there is fans happy with silly fools show, they will keep doing it.
I think they greatest problem with anime is that when people don't look up for the original material, they think that this is how it's meant to be for the begin with and think that manga is the very same with no movement. I believe OP is presented as early morning children show am I right? Such time slot is perfect for light comical show and that's level of quality OP Anime is probably doomed to stick with even though it used to be something that you would itch to see after school and even run a little to make it home to see awesome battle between Luffy and Rob Lucci or Enery.. and other times just enjoyed the great adventurous feeling, instead of endless amount of gags and jokes when animators are fooling around with comedy parts and cheating when anime would get cool and serious. In manga this all is greatly balanced.

I mean even IF they do a pause for OP, you will still get crunchyrolls "naked" LQ 360p subs when they continue.

Funimation has the rights and has some US only video service. Also the fansub groups are still pretty active, there's a load of speedsubs who release the latest episodes within 24hours after airing in 720p. There's even a dedicated fansub group which provides higher quality releases (though they do lag behind). So no it isn't crunchy's fault, it's the entertainment industry in Japan that tries to milk the most popular franchise in anime/manga history for all that it's worth. They don't give a damn about the quality as long as people keep watching it. |

Sanji has been annoying a bit lately, but this current episode, he has redeemed himself. That awesome entrance because of the tears of a beautiful lady, only Sanji could have sensors that could detect that. I was wondering who will come and save them, but I did not expect Sanji. I thought it was going to be Zoro again, even if I did not know why. Actually, I'm glad it was Sanji, since he hasn't had a chance to shine much lately. Btw, I think he only reacts to beautiful ladies. If it was Big Mama or Avira before devil fruit, I don't think he would have cared.
Well, I am looking forward to the end of this arc, like I have been for each arc since Marineford. Adapting 1 manga chapter for 1 anime episode is not a good way to adapt One Piece, even if they are close to where the manga is at. Filler arcs in One Piece have always been relatively good, so I hope for some soon. I can't tell if One Piece is good or not anymore because of the bad pacing.
