I also loved the new roar.

Ideally, I would've liked them to go more along the lines of this, but the new one sounds fairly deep and soul-shredding as well.

(Dat 0:10 roar tho. Christ. Shivers)

Chilling roar is chilling .

And looks like the new Godzy just had a baked-kaiju for breakfast.

Next meal: Fried-Jaegers .

The leaked footage suggests that there is a 2nd monster, one with multiple limbs. So they might be going for the classic "new monster show up, military was desperate and lured Godzilla to fight the new threat" plotline.

...just how big is Godzilla and that new Monster supposed to be here?! He isn't the size of a building in allot of these shots. He's absolutely dwarfing the buildings.

Nah, the perspective is a bit deceiving in that teaser. Those buildings are probably a few stories high in the initial reveal, but as the camera pans further you can see Godzilla is about the same height as a skyscrapper... it's still pretty big, though.

^ It seems that they went so far to stress that Godzilla is a living-breathing cataclysm with teeth and nerve-busting roar (don’t know if this version has atomic-breath though). So if this Godzilla's one-and-only goal is to wipe out humans without any shred of mercy then we're totally screwed . *que a pioneer/mad-scientist creating a super-duper weapon to kill Godzilla*

The hell wouldn't they have atomic breath?!

Well, that giant hole in the building looks like a classic atomic breath building hole. I can't imagine they would make such a grievous mistake again.

At least 400 ft I hope.

Well, if they don’t include his atomic-breath, I suppose it’s due to “realism” which becomes the trend in Hollywood movies nowadays. Even some superhero movies took some critical hit from the said “realism” (just look at Mandarin in Iron-man 3). Or maybe they don’t want Godzilla to become a total haxx and have all the humans die like insects after shitting their pants in the entire duration of the movie .

With Gareth Edwards as director, whose previous flick was Monsters, I fear that's exactly what he'll be relying on. But frankly, realism in movies is overrated. Sure it works well with cinema verite and such, but that shouldn't be a universal law when the whole point of going to the movies is to escape reality, esp. with movies like this.

Otherwise what's the point of remaking Godzilla "as the Japanese would've done it" (their words) and not include the atomic breath?! It's precisely because Godzilla is such a haxor it gets to illustrate humanity's desparation in fighting it. Anything less they might as well just let Roland Emmerich make a sequel out of his 1998 flick and call it a day. It's high time filmmakers should realise "serious drama" =/= "realism".

There is a time and place for realism in films.

For example, realism is welcomed in logistics, economics, politics, psychology, and sociology.

On the other hand, Realism is NOT as important in Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Engineering.

Umm...you can just google it or at least go back to previous pages. I already posted about them. Most notable actors would be Brian Cranston, Elizabeth Olsen and Aaron Taylor-Johnson.

Off topic - interestingly, Taylor-Johnson and Olsen will team up again to play Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch respectively in The Avengers 2.

Liz Olsen & Aaron Johnson's roles:

Godzilla: love interest
Avengers 2: siblings

So, will we get some wincest between Quicksilver & Scarlet Witch in Avengers 2?

You know it. In the comics the siblings are very close, and Pietro (Quicksilver) is very protective of his twin sister.... so "twincest" is the word here.
