Umm, I stand corrected. The Novel design is better than Manga but Anime is better than novel. Why I said this? Anime version clearly shown us a room where protagonist' foot went to (for a female pilot, it will feel like wearing a high heels). The novel version a bit obscured but still possible. Both shown some form of leg extension that adding the height. Manga design on the other hand...

Does Souten Gagetsu see much use? cuz I'm really starting to question why it's even there. Whenever Rin is shown in combat, she's usually just firing her impact cannons. Only in her first battle with Ichika did it see much use.

Maybe because her opponent somehow made them useless all the time. ShenLong never been a high speed unit and thus can't really use Souten Gagetsu effectively in offensive situation.

if we boost speed and cqc combat potential for shenlong's 2nd shift, would it be reasonable to say that it gave up armor to increase those two?

Shenlong never has armor to begin with, in fact it's armor seems to be quite fragile :|

Note that however while in terms of raw speed it was bad, in terms of agility it was very fast (not in maneuver but in limb movement). So, once she entered CQC range, there will be hell to pay.

Partial deployment seems to require better concentration bout don't quote me on that.

It's considered difficult and high level when Rin did it(if I remember correctly) that would be reasonable because IS aren't really supposed to be deployed partially.

Standard protocol doesn't really see much use in space equipment that only materializes one piece at a time

well logically speaking.

@zero: then that means she's not fast, but quick/dexterous?

EDIT: amongst the girls I always saw Rin as the "tank" when it came to their party O.o but I am checking again and you're right. There's barely any armor at all! even compared to Blue Tears.

You mean him using it merely on instinct and what he remember from Cecilia's advice? Sure, because humans put in severe danger will do just that, think so quickly they didn't even realize it.

Yeah, something like that. He was about to get shot by a gun before he partial summoned on instinct and blocked it. He's less capable after the fight eith Irish since he saves Cecilia afterwards.

He's in a cramped building with regular sized doors>_> I wanna see him fight effectively and not try to kill anybody if he summoned jet wings and his huge cleaver sword.

What? No, I'm not. Other than learning to partial deploy, he's still mostly the same. It's the IS being able to knock people out with one hit due to being made of adamantium that does most of the work.
