Episode 14 screencaps and impression

What a pleasant ending to a great series. Here's hoping there will be a second season.

Beautifully produced ending as expected from KyoAni and for once in a long time, I'm not disappointed in the ending of an anime series. With the exception of the shinjin destruction being slightly underwhelming, everything else was portrayed on par or better than the novel.

Very happy that KyoAni decided to keep chapter 6 and 7 together as it in a way asserts that Haruhi has found her uniqueness in the "normal" world

Awaiting subs for final judgement.

Great ending to a great show. Emotionally perfect. Haruhi is one of the great anime characters, and Hirano Aya's is a great performance. And Kyon's pretty special himself.

Kyon wasn't a complete jerkoff this episode woohoo!

I thought the intro scene with his sister was so adorable and heartwarming. The end with Mikuru was nice as well.

@_@...I never knew someone doing your hair could be so terrifying...(for Mikuru). Although I kinda missed if she said something threatening to Mikuru.

This episode is simply beautiful, and the only episode I think that is better than the novels.

Kyon/Taniguchi section was hiliarious, Kyon/Mikuru section was fan to watch.

The climax was perfect.

Now that Haruhi-sama has found her reason to get out of melancholy, the rest of us will begin entering it.

Perfect 10 episode.

Heh, I was right on how Kyon found out Mikuru's birthmark on her boobs. WOOT!

and i haven't read the manga to boot.

That point has been discussed to death in threads going all the way back to her first appearance.

And we've all come to the conclusion that she is related to Mikuru in some way. Right? RIGHT?!

Or maybe, she isn't really his sister after all. Don't forget, she isn't given a name in either the anime or the novel series --- all she has to her is "imouto" (sister). I wouldn't be suprised if what you were suggesting came to fruit in some significant way, except that it's nothing incestual.

Very true but wouldn't Kyon have noticed it? Also yeah, she could've been adopted or some such. (although didn't know about the debate. Gomen ^^;; )

The thought occurs...

You sometimes get the theme or remark of "if you were the last guy left in the world"... If you do the rather obvious reading between the lines for the events in this ep, it makes for a rather sweet inversion of that - Haruhi won't contemplate a world without Kyon

Another way of looking at it is that she likes (loves) Kyon just the way he is.

Better than your typical "confession scene" eh

..yet, why is it that Haruhi would think of "why're you here of all people" when it comes to Kyon being in the enclosed space with her? (that's for another season of Haruhi to unravel.)

I love what I see from this episode actually, although I was hoping that Kyoani would take a little bit more time and paint a deeper picture. Anyway...

What I loved is the moment when Kyon wakes up and laments the lameless of Snow White.

I ever wonder how much Kyon sees in Haruhi and if he holds the same amount of affection(subconsciously) that she holds for him? Thanks to the series shuffling of the episodes, I've lost the consistency to measure.

Well, Kyon did seem to be more mellow in his responses to her. The baseball ep where they have a short argument, usually Haruhi would not give in so easily but she did after Kyon said few things to her. And notice the subtle smile between them, signifying some form of bond between them.

The baseball ep 4 (ep7) will be right after the ep 14 (6).

The murder mystery eps also shows that Haruhi actually have concern for him. The space battle LAN, Haruhi actually look a bit ticked off when Kyon paid more attention to Yuki during negotiation with Computer Society President. The concert ep is where, interestingly, Haruhi hold his hand and he just meekly protesting, not trying very hard at it.

The list goes on.

X_X That would best Back to the Future for disturbing family relations if he actually had the hots for his sister...or maybe Mikuru is just a great-great-great-great grandkid of her

Oh yeah, I loved when Imouto pulled Kyon out of bed like that. What a drag.
