Hey Umineko fans,
I've just released a new version of ONScripter-EN that should run a lot nicer, and (hopefully) clears up some of those odd crashes. Give it a try: http://onscripter.denpa.mobi/?page_i...ripter-current Of course, if it still crashes let me know ^^; Uncle Mion

Hey Umineko fans,
Know how when you start up Umineko 4 or the Chirus, it takes a really long time before the title shows up in the caption and the game actually starts? Well, I've got a brand-new ONScripter-EN that you'll definitely want to try, since it makes that massive delay go away! Along with a few other minor fixes. Sure this release is pretty soon after the last one, but it was just too good to keep it from you guys for much longer It's been pretty well tested, but please let me know if you have problems. Enjoy! Uncle Mion

I ran Umineko with the new ONScripter, but at the title screen, i hit v to change volume, but it doesn't work and then I can't click on any of the options. They still light up when I move the cursor to them but I can't click them.
EDIT: The same thing happens in-game. I can't advance the text after hitting v. And I can't change the volume with v either.

I'm not reproducing the problem, so here's a few questions: Does the volume change menu show up at all? Note that it won't display the window caption with the menu if you're in fullscreen mode. Did you hit Esc to exit the volume change menu? Does hitting Esc do anything useful when you can't click buttons or advance? You might have to hit it twice to fully exit the volume change menu. What operating system are you using? Uncle Mion

I don't know if this is the right place to ask ;_;
You know how whenever Dlanor speaks, the last word of her sentences are always in caps? I was wondering why it's like that and what it was like in the japanese version. If anyone could tell me, that would be great :] |

In the original text Dlanor ends her sentences with katakana characters, and that only happens with words that are only 2 characters long, most commonly with "desu" which in katakana is the transliteration of the english word "death".
The use of katakana in this case is probably meant to give a robotic vibe to Dlanor's speech, since katakana are often associated with machine language. This kind of thing kinda got lost in the translation but there weren't really many viable options. Witch Hunt probably decided to be consistent with the system they used to convert the katakana names of witches in capital letters, however this might give the false impression that Dlanor is shouting the ending words of her sentences, since this is how words in capital letters are commonly interpreted by the western audience.
