EDIT: Wait, I found it, A's episode 08, Yuuno's investigation result: "To begin with, the "Book of Darkness" isn't its true name. According to the old archives, its official name is the "Tome of the Night Sky". It was originally made to gather spells from great mages all around the universe and study them, traveling together with its master. I (Yuuno) think it started to be used for destruction because someone in the later generations of masters probably altered its original program. I guess that means that in the past, just like now there were fools who recklessly tried to gain the enermous powers of the Lost Logia. Because of that alteration its traveling and automatic data restoration functions have gone out of control."

This is part Q&A -part speculation; I didn't fell like splitting them since they're related
Where was it stated that only A-rankers or higher can fly, and if that's the case, why were the air mages during the Cradle Incident useless as anything but redshirts?

Also, there is a difference between 'flying' and "high-altitude air combat". Iirc, it was mentionned it was easier for A rank+ to fight in high-altitude. |

Remember also that ranks are merely tests. Vice, for instance, had half the magic point values of Teana or so. He was a good shot with decent magic, but nowhere near the variety of skills Teana had. AS far as infiltrating the cradle, what makes you think they weren't? There were a couple with Vita in the last episode. I'd imagine that Vita and Nanoha broke off from the main group to look for the head honchos inside, while the other good guys did searching of their own in a group. Another thing to consider is that only Nanoha and vita had AMF training(something the troops didn't have), and there was a heavier AMF inside the Cradle. |

Err...wait. Teana's AA, so does this means she's eligible even though she can't fly (at least, not when we're looking)?

Posted this in the General thread, but thought I should post this here, too: Japan passes an "Anti-Otaku" law. (that links to an editorial on the subject which I feel best sums it up, but there are a couple of NSFW images in the video).
Part of the "objectionable material" that is now illegal, is gay relationships. Any yuri in Nanoha is now forbidden. I suppose not too much will change, since any yuri in the first place was pure subtext made in ways that could easily be explained otherwise (thus no real chance of NanoFate anymore). But I also have to wonder if stuff like transformation scenes, onsen scenes, etc. will be forbidden as well. Just speculating, mainly, on what Nanoha may have to cut to continue being published, so I suppose the speculation thread is the best place for it. Let me know if it should go elsewhere. Edit: Adding this link: http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/brain-diving/2010-12-21 It clarifies a few things, such as not being an outright ban, but a reclassification of things to 18+. Still, the effect might well end up resembling a ban, as it would have chilling effects for publishers. They'd be reluctant to carry things for fear it would step over the vague lines. I don't know whether there's a canonical answer for this, so just to be safe I'll put this here instead of Q&A

Now, I could see them storing some magazines in subspace, and when they've used up the supply on them, getting another few magazines when they have time to reload. |

Obviously someone is going to hate me for this, but I think it's about time Nanoha Takamichi dies, if the series is ever going to be 'reborn', and this is no hater post. A new Nanoha anime with such an end would be truly epic.
Think of it, it's not even absurd that she dies at a young age, considering how far beyond her limit she went to cast her spells such as Excelion Buster, and her excessive usage of Blaster System (I suspect it's only for coolness it was called a booster that shaves away one's life, about time we make the danger realistic). The most I would give her myself is 40+ and the least 30+... Even if Starlight Breaker kinda does not uses the caster's own magic, Nanoha fired five at once near the end of StrikeS. The thought that she lives happily till 60 or even 50 seems a very lousy joke, I'll use Blaster System any day if that's the so-called life-shaving experimental booster. |
