Scar/Kimblee was nicely done, despite the additional scenes I actually liked.

Olivia at the end was also great.

A lot happened this episode compared to last week's.

I'm glad they added filler for Scar vs Kimblee. It was way too short in the manga.

Can't wait to see this episode. Animated Olivier should be glorious.

Haha, agreed! I'm glad they kept that scene in there, it's hilarious.

Olivier's voice was definitely not what I expected, I knew she was gonna sound tough, but jeez lol. I still like it though, it fits her.

Olivier's voice was definitely what I expected. I was actually kinda nervous that they were going to misguidedly cast her with an overly soft voice like I believe they have done with Riza and Ross, but thank god they didn't. Yoko Soumi's voice totally reeks of 'tough woman', and I'm loving every second of it.

Though I can't say the same about Buccanear. Now there's a voice that surprised me. And can't wait to hear Miles' next week.

As for the episode itself, it was definitely an improvement over last week. They still included some filler at the beggining, but it wasn't bad. Overall they covered about a chapter, which going by the preview will not happen again next week, where it should go back to two chapters per episode.

My favorite part, aside from Olivier, was definitely Scar vs Kimblee, and the latter's words to the train guys. "How worthy it is... this battlefield of mine."

I like her voice, it is very fitting for her demanding character.

I don't know, I liked the kimblee-chasing-scar filler we got at the beginning of this ep and during ep 32. It adds to Kimblee's character, the fact that we get to see how resourceful, methodical, and, well, capable he is at tracking scar down. Makes him more intimidating.

And I actually like Kimblee far more in this series than in first season. Somehow he doesn't seem tto be that evil here and has a nice side to his character.

well... it's not that he's "nice." Far from it.

The first anime made kimblee into a raging pyromaniac, when the real kimblee from the manga is a very good soldier and alchemist with frightening perceptive skills, combat instincts/intuitions, a ridiculously photogenic memory, and a slightly subdued nihilistic sadism that derives pleasure from the trials of the battlefield (be it combat with another individual, exterminating a village or race of people, or tracking down an enemy combatant to exterminate), from being in the middle of a warzone, free to cause death as he sees fit, while in danger of being put to death by someone able to outwit him.

First anime Kimblee was no more than a generic mad bomber. Manga/Brotherhood Kimblee has so much more depth it's not even funny.

And by nice kitten probably means how he is so polite and almost gentleman-like to everyone, but make no mistakes, underneath all that is still a very amoral sociopath. In fact, he explains why he puts on that polite attitude in the future. So yeah just keep watching and enjoy his character, since it's a very interesting one IMO.

I suspect that the only reason we got a generic mad bomber in the first anime was because literally the only coverage of Kimblee in the manga at that point had been him reacting to the 5th lab collapsing, and the jailers calling him a "Mad Bomber". That was all they had to go on.

Olivier got some pretty good impression in the manga like angry eye grow killer look and crazy killer look, let hope they keep those in as well.

Scar's potrayal is great in this episode. When he shouts kimbleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee. Olivia got a nice voice and bucaneer too.

It's a good time for awesome characters, both good and evil.

Kimblee is one likeable villain. His speech is impeccable; he dresses well and the guy packs a powerful punch. The guy's like a psychopath (if he isn't one already) and a perfect adversary for Scar in more ways than one. Comparing manga/Brotherhood Kimblee to his version in the first anime is like looking at night and day.

Then, there's Olivier, and dear Lord, now that's a woman. Oh man, my preference for strong female characters is going to make me watch this show even more. Aside from Izumi (or perhaps Lust, had she lived on further), I can't seem to recall any female character of her calibre.

The Kimblee and Scar showdown is one of my favorite scenes from the manga, and i'm quite pleased with how it was handled here. Nice animation, a fitting piece of music, and some added addition scenes to make it last a bit longer. Very nicely handled, especially the scene where they both recognize each other.

& and there's Olivier. Oh wow Olivier. I said in the voice appreciation thread that Yoko Soumi would be spot on for her, and boy was i right. She captures her character perfectly, and then some. We're in for some great few episodes now with her.
