Welcome to American politics. Truth doesn't matter, only what you can convince people is true. In such an environment, restating existing US policy becomes an attack on Israel.

I've been reading more about it since.
I think it has something to do with the idea that saying "1967 lines" means limiting the extent of the negotiation room.

also, by calling 1967 lines a border, you validate the false claim that the 1967 lines WERE borders in 1967 (they were armistice lines).

Not entirely sure if this is updated information or not, but it seems the Israeli PM isn't entirely pleased with Obama's wording.

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/43103603...new_york_times

The wording (by the media at least) is "pre-1967 borders". Which doesn't mean much aside from the entire West Bank, Gaza Strip, and Jerusalem (is it just the Eastern part of the city, or the entire city?). The Golan Heights is not considered part of any State of Palestine and thus would not be part of the negotiations.

However it seems that one condition directed at the Palestinians is that they have to answer the question on, "How can one negotiate with a party that has shown itself unwilling to recognize your right to exist?"

Screw the border disputes, let whatever is left on either side rest and start building the damn economies already - most Arab states funded so much into the ME insurgency that they don't even have enough to feed their own people.

Obama did indicate some flexibility. For instance he said there could be "land swaps".

So I would presume that would mean that gives a way for Israel to obtain all of Jerusalem, and it also means Palestine will get something in return.

I think Obama is being pretty reasonable, all things considered, and he's got ammunition against domestic dissent with the resolution of Bin Laden. He's timed this well.

A little late but this article covers a very interesting subject:

Judge's decision in your court hearing may be based on when they last had something to eat

Shows once again (imo) how we can't always be so sure of our convictions on these matters.

A possible violation of Swedish child pornography law means Nintendo 3DS game Dead or Alive: Dimensions won't release there, or Norway, or Denmark.

Distributor Bergsala capitulated without a fight and pulled the title, not wanting to stoke the national fire that raged recently when a manga translator was charged with being in possession of child pornography.

"Nintendo of Europe have decided not to release the game in Sweden, for various reasons. However, they do not want to list any details regarding their decision," said Nintendo and Bergsala in a joint statement to Eurogamer Sweden.

"We are sorry for how this impacts the Swedish fans of Dead or Alive. Thankfully, it's extremely unusual that these things happen."

The case stems from a forum poster who noticed that three Dead or Alive: Dimensions characters - Kasumi, Koroke and Ayane - violated Swedish law by being under 18 and in a pornographic situation. The pornographic situation in this case being the Figure Mode, where the posing girls can be photographed from every angle.

The author of the report had no intention of outlawing the game. The aim instead was to highlight why the child pornography law should be changed. The author took his report evidence to the police who dismissed it as "lacking" in evidence. Underage girls in thongs, the police concluded, do not equate to porn.

not that i'm complaining but IMO that game shouldn't be released on childrens platform like nintendo!

can't they wait for the latest Sony NGP???

here's why it's worth waiting for NGP...

1. download games without going to brick and mortar stores and devs don't have to worry about red tape
2. OLED screen quality FTMFW!
3. touchscreen... and of course... in 3D!

4. no buying USED games for a fraction of the original price, you will be paying full price for every single game.

Since when is the DS a children's platform?

Anime's only for kids, right?

Just the male ones. We will force the female ones into a contract with a magical feline so as to stave away the heat death of the universe - at least they'd make witches that serve a purpose instead of those who just concoct stories of "spells and hexes".

we only started seeing more T & M-games for nintendo handhelds when publishers decided they'll rake in more $ when they do a multiplatform release.

China's Wen signals easing of Japan imports ban

(Reuters) - China is willing to increase agricultural imports from Japan, provided they meet safety standards, Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao said on Saturday while visiting the Japanese region battered by an earthquake, tsunami and nuclear accident in March.
Given all the story of counterfeit food, passiing those thest should be easy...
