The problem is they continue to get bits and pieces right but get many, many more wrong, so people can't help but hope the next scene will be good too.

The second twilight in Episode 2, for instance, was great.

Maybe they'll add extra footage as an enticement to buy the DVD lol. After all, the length requirement is set by the TV slot, so they could add some to the episode later. I mean, they're gonna add some extra anyway, might as well please the fan by making Rosa Mousa a minute long instead of 30 sec lol.

I guess this means that Maria doesn't even hint at her 'There's only one Mama and only one Maria' monologue?

Yes, she does says that, that Rosa-Maria dialogue is a bit changed but it's kept, they have to show her BEST MOM moments, even if they're about Rosa being good

To be honest..even so this episode was rushed I loved the episode. the banquet was so I can't descripe it good it was disturbing and grotesque like I imagined it to be. The change of Maria's way to be eaten made me like it even more.
Also even thoguh I knew that Shannon was dead and had a stake in her forehead it made me jump a little. Though I'm wondering how the stake was could "fall of" so easily. I thought a stake would stuck more deeply.
I love how Kinzo and Battler got "gang-eaten"
Shannon's shield was a bit different then I imagined it...and Natsuhi's room most be as big as the one of her daughter. Makes me wonder how high that mansion actually is.

I look forward to the day when people judge the episode on its own merits rather than as an adaptation.

But that'll never happen.

Seriously though, you're turning the anime-only audience off.

Screens look quite nice, but if they really stuffed all this story into ONE episode it cant be possibly good even if they used all music they skipped till now.

Well I can tell you, this episode s indeed rushed. You can see a lot of not quite bad animation but I can tell you for me this episode had quite let's call it charm. It was excitig till the last second. And Ohara's performace is still amazing. it seems she really enjoys to laugh and cackle like that.

And now to await in excitement for the 3rd arc, my personal favorite. I'm sure some anime-only viewers in the future will agree with me as well <333

As a VN player Allow me to say that I thoroughly enjoyed the episode. It wasn't 100% perfect but it was enough for me to give it a 9/10. Just because some parts were cut/offed it doesnt mean that the episode itself wasn't pure awesomeness and given time constraints it could have turned out much worse

The VN people will always have their opinion, just like the Higurashi VN players do.

As far as the episode, I liked it but it could have been done better. Majorly in the Maria facial department.

Subs will be out tomorrow, probably. The episode aired on TV about three hours ago.

Gonna watch the RAW in a second, from the screens it looks rushed but epic, and hilariously graphic. Yay for Apple Baked Maria.

Sad about Rosa Mosou LACKAGE and no "Super Paper" and head-smashing.

It is - Battler from anime looks like stupid crybaby, that would give him a least some of his badassness from novel.

By the way - do you also think that Battler dissapearing in swarm of butterflies looks completely out of place? In novel he always walked, or he just was here, its somehow part of his magic denying character - making him to use butterflies is butchering its character in my opinion.

Who knows, maybe they'll add "Super Paper" someplace else. Like maybe the preview for next episode.
