yea i agree that things were lingering a bit at the same level before ep 4 but they are going to pick up now i hope...with the cast increasing in size like that hayate has more potential to get in some love business (not to mention what comedy might spawn from that)

She'll become Nagi's foil, the person she actually both admires and feels inferior to at the same time (as opposed to other rivals she kinda walks over). Her role in the bigger scheme of things is very complicated and very gradually changes. In many ways, she resembles Hayate - just as a girl.

One final hint about her importance: Her introduction was forced via time jump right at ep4 (instead of ~ep10-12, where she'd have appeared otherwise). Next, we jump "back" to the material we skipped. Draw your own conclusions.

Not sure if this was mentioned yet, but does anyone else think that the words spoken during the commercial screens are a form of ongoing shiritori ?

Episode 1 : Hayate no Gotoku , kurisumasu (Christmas)
Episode 2 : suki , kirai
Episode 3 : itokonnyaku , kusemono (Not sure if these 2 are spelt correctly ^^)
Episode 4 : nori , rinpa

I believe it refers to Vana'diel, the world setting for Final Fantasy XI.

Whoa the neck on both of them (including Hirano) is impressive. It's the result of an attempt to inject Giraffe DNA into a human embryo. This is Rie Tanaka:




Even if we assume the neck terminates at the very bottom of the picture, it's still pretty long. This picture does the neck more justice. From now on my nickname for her is Rie TehNecka (HO NOT FUNNY! ) I can do better than that.

Izumi voice is so high.
Thought it was the highest pitch voice in anime until I heard Isumi's voice.
Isumi's voice sounds artificial imo.

However, when I was thinking about how Isumi would sound, I thought of Aria in Sister Princess
and they do sound similar in a way.
But Isumi sounds better.

Good one. I only began to suspect the shiritori play in Episode#04 while puzzling over the connection between nori and rinpa.

Not sure whether anyone already mentioned this.If they introduced Isumi 1st b4 Nagi grandpa isn't kind of messing up the important plot quite a bit ( one of the reason those accidents that happen during Isumi introduction arc)

The pendant that Hayate got from Grandpa is cursed therefore causing all the misfortune and it has major role in Hayate story

I thought those part might somehow important since the pendant itself was shown in the opening.

Also i dont really like the way Isumi drawn in the anime especially the eyes.She just doesn't look as clumsy as she is in the manga with those eyes.

I think they can introduce the grandpa later. I kind of think the mangaka forgot all about it from all the chapters I read. I think they're just introducing the characters now and progressing the story line later. But I hope the anime adds stuff to show the importance to the necklace.

Anyways, I think I can add star trek to episode 4 reference list.
And I'm debating whether Yukiji sensei is holding Juri Arisugawa's sword from Utena or Sabre's sword from Fate/Stay Night

Maybe because it is pretty obvious especially with the sound ^^, this anime version has too many super robots/mecha reference ....pretty different from the manga version which contain more variety.
