It's always fun to see this thread get bumped and read what I have written here before. Last time (almost seven months ago) I seem to have expressed my unequivocal love for hard electronic dance music and progressive rock.
Well, that has surely changed. I haven't come to detest these genres. I can still enjoy a good gabber track every once in a while. It's just that ever since last Spring I have been all over jazz, especially fusion. One could say this just shows that our tastes and preferences are in constant flux. At the moment it really does feel, though, that jazz is here to stay. (At least for a very long time; I haven't even checked all the classics yet!) Anyways, Miles ahead.

I used to pretty much only listen to (mostly german) rap, for a long long while. Now it's solely - and I mean solely - AKB. I should have about 20gigs of Vocaloid stuff somewhere too, but this got boring faster than expected. There's nothing apart from AKB on my 32GB phone. In general, if the song is cute and the artist too, I'll probably like it. If there are dozens of them on one stage, I go batshit insane.

^ I think he was just trying to discuss the question with you? He did say he didn't want to argue taste? You sort of immediately accused him of bothering you..

I could've pickied "Rock", but... I am with "Other", cause, well, it isn't enough :P
I like punk. I like progressive rock. Maybe some indie, ska, metal, rap/hip-hop (honestly, I don't know the difference xD) Alternative rock too. A quick jazz feeling is nice, too |

I was going to vote "Rock", but I decided to vote "Other..." instead. The music I like the most is specifically called Symphonic Gothic Metal and I see it being the closest to rock; however, it can be more on the Heavy Metal side at times. Here are a few examples of Symphonic Gothic Metal:

The so-called 'classical' parts of the soundtracks of Nodame Cantabile and its musical spinoffs pretty much exemplify my musical preferences. I also like opera and ballet.
I find modern American pop music detestable, with very few exceptions. (I'm amused to see me listed as a 'Junior Member'.)

Pretty much any dance music works for me, but I prefer it if it is electronic. I've been really into chillstep and uk hardcore as of late, but my taste varies long and wide. Truth be told, a classic can fill the spot as well if I'm in such mood, or a beautiful rock song. So yeah, I couldn't pinpoint a specific favourite taste, as it would truly depend on the mood and hype at that moment.
