I liekd the episode. Manga material or not, I quite liked the way the mirror clone fights were done (and yum, two Ten-Tens), although it disappoints me that it will interfere with the timing of the main fight.
The Deidara-Sasori convo seemed out of place, although when Naruto got pissed off at it, it felt correctly placed (in particular, demonstrating Sasori's awareness with the speed that he countered the shuriken). In my opinion they're making Chiyo-Sasori something interesting, has me waiting for it with anticipation. They're setting the tone for Deidara's character well in my opinion, I can see why he's so popular in the polls. Missed the ED but I'll go take a look now, since so many people are talking so highly of it. Over-all, it's another 7/10 episode for me, too much of a teaser episode to get any higher (and the rate at which teaser episodes have come at has been rather frustrating). Edit: Yep, the ending was pretty good. The final coloured scenes drawn in a "painting style" were particularly eye catching, very well drawn over all. |

I guess all the manga readers have stopped watching the anime. Lemme tell you that just about everything in this episode was in the manga.
The clone fights, the radios, the art argument, its all in there. The anime fleshes it out a bit, but honestly, thats the anime's job. In the manga the clone fights happen mostly off... uh.. where do things happen off in a manga? Ill stay with off-screen. The argument about art is a little shorter, the radio hand out is shorter. But its all in there. If you don't like those things, blame the series, not the anime. I didn't like the episode, by the way. Also that screen shot a few posts ago, what episode is that from? |

I don't think that they were doing it for any other reason that to defend their beliefs against one another. I think that they're both so arrogant that they feel the need to defend their definition of art whenever it is challenged.
About your Sakura comment, were you not thoroughly impressed with her poison removal? I certainly was. |

An episode every other week? And each episode with incredibly slow pacing? I think I'm going to wait it out until Shipuuden has like, 20 more episodes, so when I watch it's interesting and I don't get bored or apathetic. I get really apathetic knowing that I won't know what's gonna actually happen until two months from now.
