Subaru's Wing Road would only need to start at her feet rather than go ahead, like how ice users tend to 'surf'.

Yup`, Wing Road has proven to be quite versatile, still more limited than open flight but it's not that bad, Subaru already managed to pull out some amazing air maneuvers with that.

They both did it, Mach Caliber awesome "auto pilot" maneuver was possible because she and Subaru trained and reaharshed the move several times, so it was a combination of Mach Caliber's skill and Subaru's muscle memory.

Also Subaru has pulled off some pretty cool stuff while fully counscious.

*Thought Process goes: Gauntlets + Boots that move you around --> armor that moves you around --> Barrier Jacket Device...*

On that note, Sacred Heart and Asteon. Do these things have any physical form as fully activated Devices?

Do they compose their master's Barrier Jackets as an "Armor-type Device", or do they simply integrate with their masters like Unison Devices?

I think I read somewhere they they were a new "hybrid" between Intelligent and Unison Device technology, which would support the "merge" theory.

As they glow to activate armor and after that are nowhere to be seen i assume that they indeed merge, be with the user or with the armor itself.

The entire point of RF6 was to make a Ground Force unit. The "they all love to fly" speech was in reference to Nanoha's job as a combat instructor.

And yet during the final episode, then one where characters were supposed to, yo'know, learn from all their previous mistakes and successes, Subaru for some reason decided to deploy Wing Road all the way from the heli to the Cradle instead of using the "make it up as they go" technique, so when and where she 'surf' seemed to be more a matter of rule of cool rather than an actual tactical decision.

But as can be seen from the main characters, RF6 also has access to mages from the Air Force (Nanoha, also Signum IIRC) and Navy (Fate). Nobody seems to think that the Forwards needs some air cover too, considering that their seniors rarely ever provided that service to them, always being preoccupied elsewhere?

Anyway, the above arguments is more suited for the StrikerS thread, so it might be better to continue there (and you guys seems to be having fun there).

What's relevant to this thread is that for some reason and another, Tsuzuki decided to have no flying forwards at all, and now none of them can be introduced in GoD without some major wanking on the stats to make a balanced gameplay. Meanwhile on the other we have Zest, Tre, Sette, IIRC Deed(?), and, depending on interpretation, Garyuu - all of them can be used in GoD with only story as the main concern (and considering that GoD has freakin' time travel in it, I probably would end up not caring) without any major changes to their skillset

Garyu would be an interesting addition.

It's a sort of tag team between him and Lutecia. He's the one you control and look over the shoulder of, while Lutecia is hanging behind him like Hayate's Tome of the Night Sky.

He takes all of the hits and dishes out the melee attacks, while Lutecia's half of the sprite produces the long-range attacks and super move.

Garyu would be awesome, and he's got a reason for the girls to freak out (silent + intimidating + strange things happening = "it's the enemy!")

Kris and Tio have been seen alongside Vivio and Einhart in their adult forms, though, so we don't know if they merge.

By the by something that I don't get.

People say that the forward have no flying abilities and that if they add them to them they will be breaking canon and what not but has Vivio or Einheart shown that they can fly on Vivid? 'cause I don't remember.

We know Vivio can fly since StrikerS. Einhart and Vivio's matches are in the air too often to not be flight--and it wouldn't make sense for Einhart to be incapable of flight while Vivio is, given the rivalry portrayal.

In the fight between Vivio and Shante Kriss merged with Vivio and supported her, so we know it's at least an option.

My point is that they could add Subaru to the game, except instead of having her floating in the air they could have her standing with blue light under her feet.

You bring up an excellent point. Looking back, Vivio and Einhart have only been shown running around on the Wing Road when flying would have been more advantageous. I think it's safe to assume they can't fly.

But jump good.

At the end of StrikerS Vivio's abilities were augmented by the Relic so she could have lost it when she was 'brought down to normal'.

Yet now are both showed flying in the game. Wonder if they don't fly just because of the rules. Nanoha and Fate didn't do much flying during the mock battles at Lutecia's place either.

Nanoha was standing on a "magical circle" in the middle of the battlefield, Fate dashed through the field but only fly a few times until Erio disabled her.

Since when did they stand on magic circles? This isn't Devil May Cry.
