I am getting this game when it is released!!
I just checked Gamespot's review and its a 9.5!! One of Mario's greatest adventures and the controls work really well, as said in review... this game will surely make me forget about waiting for Brawl and keep me busy until February. Though I'm debating whether I should get this or Fire Emblem...but I think I'll just get Mario Galaxy, since I've been a Mario fan since the NES days. |

I was looking through the Gamepro magazine today and they have revealed a new princess in this Mario game.
I forgot her name, but she looks like she's 10 years old and she has Princess Peach's hairstyle, except her bangs on the right side of her face covers her right eye. Kind of like that emo look...or to put it in another way, kind of like how Sanji, from One Piece, has his hair like that kind of style. She looks like a very interesting character. I'm definitely getting this game when it is released. |

Yea, the review guy really did sound like he enjoyed this game and I can see how fun it is to play through galaxies like that. I have also seen the beginning intro to Galaxy and the cinematic scenes are really well done. And I take back about what I said about the new Princess...she's not 10 years old "looking"...she looks like the same age as Peach! and her name is Princess Roselina...I think... |

Did anyone else pre-order from Gamestop and get that little message yesterday? Galaxy comes out today, and I was notified last night of this, only a little differently. Normally it's some recorded message just saying "It'll be here tomorrow", but this time, I was apparently listening to Mario's voice actor. Who, after introducing himself, proceeded to explain to me, in character, how awesome the game was. Quite the experience.

I just sat down to play the first few levels. The gravity of the worlds can be a little jarring at first, when you're upside down and the controls are changed to accommodate, but I was able to get used to this by the time I was done with the first 2-3 levels. My only gripe at this point is that you die in three hits and star bits are more abundant than coins. Hopefully your life can be upgraded later. However, to make up for the low life bar, I've had no problem getting extra lives. 50 star bits is an extra life, and that's a very easy task to accomplish, and the game is generous with 1-Up Mushrooms. And Bee Mario is fun to play with.
Oh, and Bowser for once looks terrifying in his manner and actions in the beginning of the game. Glee! As for the multi-player, I wouldn't know yet - I can't afford to go out and get another controller. However, from the videos I've seen, the second player's functions (collecting and firing star bits) is really not all that necessary. If you can multitask and pay attention to several details at the same time (I would assume that many fansub watchers have gotten used to this :P ) you can collect, fire, and still move around all at the same time, since the remote is used for the former, and with the exception of jumping, Mario's movements and actions (spin attack, ground pound) are controlled with the nunchuck. The game's off to a good start. If you have the opportunity, go pick it up. Oh, and pre-orders apparently get this cool little commemorative coin with their purchase. Tis shiny. |

So far it's a pretty amazing game, as Alexandrite mentioned the gravity can be slightly disorienting at first, but after 10 minutes I adusted. Nintendo sure did one hell of a job with the gravity though, I often stop and giggle to myself while playing because it's just that cool.
The graphics are also quite good, and this is coming from someone who has been playing Call Of Duty 4 for the 360 in 720p the last week. This very well could be my game of the year unless Mass Effect dethrones it. |

I'm sharing this with AnimeSuki!
If you go to Toys R' Us and buy a copy of Mario Galaxy, you get a free $25 gift card. I confirmed this news by calling an employee and I will get it this week through this deal. I'm not sure how they'll get profit out of this but at least Im happy http://www.nintendowiifanboy.com/200...-25-gift-card/ |
