Life eh...interesting. I could include the ability to transfer the wounds of the user to the enemy when he/she grabs that particular opponent. Also, the ability to regenerate faster than a normal mage...or use his/her (the user) life to save a person who has no chance of living due to fatal wounds...very interesting. I'd like to point out that the abilities of these mages should be limited so as to avoid uberhaxxing/overly-powerful characters. Life manipulation is an easily-abused skill if you can kill with a touch or something similar, so make sure you put some limits on what the Arcs can and can't do.

And as for Void.... well, that's about as overpowered as you can get. A void spell would theoretically be able to eat its' way though any defense both physical and magical, possibly simply wiping enemies from existence with a single attack. That's about as haxxed as it gets.

Not forbidden, more so you need to be able to come up with a very strong background for something that powerful. And yes, that includes the Void Element from the Japanese Elements.

I see...anyway, a spell that creates a sphere (a bit similar to black holes) that absorbs all attacks belongs to the void category...right? I intend to create a spell that absorbs magic and physical attacks as long as the attack being absorbed is not bigger than the sphere created by the user. Just incase I changed my mind about having an Arc of Void, I wanted to know if I can assign this ability as an IS instead of a spell...

Hmm, Arcs of the Elements, sounds just like my Templars . Having seven is a bit tricky, seeing as how the elements overlap each other, like Water and Ice. Do you want them to strictly handle those elements specifically, or they can share? I think it's more practical if you group the elements into general classes.

We have the typical four elements of Water (includes ice), Fire, Earth (includes metal and wood), and Wind (includes lightning). You may choose to add Light (includes shadow, since it's basically light manipulation in the first place), Life (you may exclude wood out of Earth element class and add it in here if you want; basically spells that enhance/encourage life and vice versa; I personally think wood fits here), and Void (perhaps the leader). One thing I dislike about Void is that it fits generally everything that involves space-time, and it's difficult to assess the HAXX level critically. If you want to use this element, be careful of your description, it sends warning signals very loudly .

Personally, I'd choose the leader to not have Void, but maybe multi-elemental instead, or something more abstract like Sound, Mind, or Matter (this is quite powerful, actually).

So you need at least an element covering one of the other crossovers.

Fire + Earth (described as Dry)

Water + Air ( described as Wet)

Or you can switch your classical element set and use VOID or AETHER or SPIRIT.

There is this concept called "overheal" that I discussed with Kha, where basically if you stimulate life past a critical level, it becomes degenerative instead of curative. Think of it as excessive administration of drugs or hormones, where you produce instability in the said organism, thereby causing certain dangerous effects (cancer, from the medical point of view). In the magical point of view, well, the organism just explode.

Currently, the accepted (at least, to me) base for IS would by a combat cyborg, since it's described and shown by canon. Using IS on normal humans would entail some difficult explanations on the integration since there's little to no canon proof. Some may view it critically, so to say.

Nope, Arcs can only use that specific Element. Thats it.

All seven are the leaders of their organization--in which the name is still undecided. Anyway, if you are talking about which ones has highest authority (there is more than 1) of the seven then its the Arc of Ice, Lightning, and Wind. The Arc of Lightning, Asclei Foresythe is the main character of my fanfic. I'm still working on his rebuild.

Nope.

Because on the chart used in this quick check... the intermediate between earth and water is 'cold'. Thus, 'ice'. (Because ice is cold...)

Plus when you look at it from a tactile perspective that they would have in classical times... Ice is made of EARTH because it is hard, and Water because it is cold.

Classical elements are pretty straight forward. Heck, wood would be made of fire and earth. Since it's hard, but burns. *Shrug.*

Considering the initial concept, I kinda feel this next scenario is somewhat... rushed. Then again it wasn't meant to be long so...

Presenting a short humble scenario entitled:

Covenant Hill Hiking Trail, in the Ardean plains 70 miles north of Cranagan, Midchilda

Despite its name, the feature known as Covenant Hill is more of a small mountain, with its peak reaching 78 meters from its base. The misnomer was given to it due to its deceptive height, as it was a mountain recessed within the middle of the deep and vast Covenant Crater Valley. Coupled with its almost perfectly smooth and round inverted bowl shape, its treeless and grassy face and as the only significant geographic feature in a flat plain stretching for miles, many past explorers who saw it from a distance thought it an easily traversable stump, only to marvel when it revealed its sheer size as they came near.

The symbolic nature of the humble mountain in a crater was not lost on the disciples of the Saint Church, and so they erected a small chapel at the very peak, accessible only by a long, winding dirt trail from the very bottom of the crater valley. Devout pilgrims come here to test their resolve (and their legs), and many first-time visitors see the deceptively easy and shallow trail as a piece of cake, only to be humbled by the length and steepness of the roughly five hour climb as they’re given a most unexpected workout with no shade for protection. Whether it’s the Chapel of the Saint, or the drinks and refreshments they offer, the trail promises at least a reward for the weary hiker at the end.

A reward the heavily panting Private Mai Enna was looking most forward to... if only she could see past the back of the man in front of her.

“C’mon Mai, we’re three quarters of the way there! Don’t tell me that’s all you’ve got!”

Mai gave a small scowl at Remington Smith’s chide, who didn’t look to be any more tired than he was since they started nearly three hours ago. Despite the heavy metal-backed knapsack he carried behind him, Smith was all dry and clean like it was a walk in the park, barely breaking a sweat. So was Colt Wesson behind her, who was humming an unknown tune to himself as he purposely trailed behind them.

And here she was, stubbornly willing her painfully aching feet to drag her forward, her own olive fatigues and white t-shirt drenched in the thick, sticky sweat that covered every inch of her skin from her scalp to her toes. With the high midday sun mercilessly radiating its scorching rays in the already unbearable heat, and with no cover save the meager shade of her baseball cap in sight she felt every ounce of moisture in her body evaporating, leaving her to slowly shrivel up to dry.

She needed water. Precious, precious water that she had not tasted since two hours ago. What she wouldn’t give for even a sip right now…

“Here, drink up.”

… and as if on cue Smith was right in front of her, holding up a half-full gallon bottle of the most coveted cool liquid, offering her that most wanted relief...

And yet the soft, hoarse words to come out of her painfully parched throat were this:

“... No thanks… not… thirsty…”

“If you say so… just tell me if you need it.”

Smith capped the gallon bottle, and placed it back in the knapsack. He quickly turned his back to the young girl and continued walking; he didn’t want her to see the silent frustration slowly forming on his face. Something was bothering him… badly.

‘That’s the seventh time today isn’t it Smith?’

The private telepathic message from Wesson far behind him echoed through his thoughts, and the words further worried him.

‘Seven times too many Wes. She hasn’t had a drop to drink for the couple of hours!’

‘Poor girl looks like she could drop dead at any minute.’

‘I KNOW WES!’

The loud reply startled even Smith, who stopped in his tracks and quickly looked behind him at his equally startled brother, who returned his look with a smug face. Thankfully Mai didn’t seem to have noticed, and so resumed his pace lest she did take heed. It was fortunate he voiced himself through his telepathy, and not his mouth. But this did nothing to alleviate his earlier problematic thoughts…

‘I know Wes… but she still refuses to drink. What’d I do this time?’

A weary sigh escaped his lips. He had known Mai to refuse things whenever she was upset, most often with him, Wes – or both of them, which was often the case. Which meant for the most part that she refused A LOT of things from them.

That didn’t seem to be the case this morning when they went out for this hiking session, planned to test and improve on her physical fitness, despite her general silence about the matter. If anything, she seemed to have anticipated this hike with much enthusiasm, having prepared quite thoroughly for the occasion, with the early morning stretches and spirited preliminary runs. Her interest was further piqued by hearing that the current chapel caretaker was an old friend of her former headmistress Sister Christina Rosetta. That, and her new resolve to retake the Enforcer Exam next year meant she took this hike much more seriously than usual.

While Mai was never one to express much outward enthusiasm, she seemed quite eager to start walking up the trail when they got here, always taking the lead like a schoolgirl on a fieldtrip. And asides from losing her personal black plastic water bottle in a bush snag that sent it to the bottom of a deep crack ravine, the trip was for the most part uneventful, with her spirits undampened and intact.

It was two hours ago when it all started. With Mai having no water bottle of her own, Smith offered his own unopened gallon bottle to her, from which she drank with much gusto. Afterwards though, she had refused each and every offer to drink, stating that she wasn’t thirsty. Not even Wes could get her to drink, and she grew more irate every time she was offered to since.

What was it then he wondered? As much as he would like to think that this some sort of new unusual method of training Mai conceived to enhance the hike’s difficulty, she was clearly pushing it beyond her limits. Especially since Mai clearly needed more water than himself or Wes.

Why was she so upset? Was it something he said? Wes? Was it for the bottle she lost? Or maybe he chided her on this hike too often? Impatience to get to the chapel? What was it?

He thought hard as he took a swig out of the half-empty gallon water bottle he carried.

What was he missing?

‘Kansetsu Kissu…’

‘What was that Wes?’

‘Indirect Kissing.’

Smith’s drink nearly backed up his throat when he heard Wesson’s words in his head. He swallowed before replying:

‘What’s this about kisses Wes?!’

Even within telepathic communiqués, Smith could swear Wes was laughing his ass off from his reaction.

‘Sorry bro, it just occurred to me as you took that swig a while ago.’

Now his curiosity took over. ‘So what does that mean? Indirect kissing?’

‘It’s nothing too complicated. Just that when one shares the same piece of food or drank from the same container with another person, they can be said to have indirectly kissed.'

'Bullshit.'

What the heck kind of concept is that? Smith wondered. As far as he and Wesson were concerned, drink is drink and food is food meant to be shared by all, nothing more, nothing less. Smith never felt anything when sharing food or drink with anybody – in fact the thought never crossed his mind for once in his life until now.

But yet the more he thought about that very simple elementary concept, the more puzzled he became. Why did everything suddenly make sense? But he wasn’t ready to go jump to that conclusion just yet…

‘Surely you’re not suggesting Mai’s refusal to drink is because I drank out of this water bottle right?’ he asked Wesson incredulously, as if expecting him to say it was all a joke.

‘I am.’

It was not what he wanted to hear.

‘You know it’s beyond ridiculous right? To think she’d make herself suffer so much for such a petty thing?’ he asked, the tone in his voice growing ever more aghast. And yet… he couldn’t make himself discount the possibility. Even after all these years, Mai’s irrationality was something he still couldn’t quite handle. Her recklessness, her pride, her unpredictability when it came to those aspects of her that were beyond his knowledge. And yet for such a thing…

‘Yet Mai is Japanese.’

‘And what does that have to do with anything?!’

‘The concept is most prevalent to many young Japanese…’

‘And you believe Mai fits that stereotype?’

‘I believe so.’

‘But Mai drank from my bottle-‘

‘Only because she was the first to drink from it.’

There was nothing Smith could say that could argue with that fact. And only now with all the evidence in front of him was he willing to admit what he had not wanted to from the beginning.

Mai was capable of such a ridiculous thing.

And then he heard a loud thud behind him, like an object hitting the ground… like a person hitting the dirt… like…

“MAI!”

Orange sunlight woke her up from her slumber, the heat of the midday sun replaced by the cool afternoon breeze that blew on the grass she lay on, creating a gentle rustling that soothed her ears. The first thing she saw was the blue sky, now much darker in hue than the sky she remembered seeing. The throbbing pain in her leg was gone, though it still felt quite stiff. Her throat no longer felt dry, and she no longer felt sticky from sweat.

It was then she noticed her head was resting on something oddly comfortable, something warm...

"You awake already?"

And found Smith's upside-down face in front of her, gazing at her intently.

"Ano..."

She turned her head to look away, only to find his fingers on her cheek... and then realized that her head had been resting in between his cupped hands. She tried to get up, only to find his right hand on her forehead clamping her down.

“…Hanashite…” she softly pleaded for him to let go.

“No.”

“…”

The only thing she could do was stare at his eyes in confusion, with a serious edge to them she couldn't place.

"You're not going anywhere till you explain to me why you're being so stupid today."

Despite his low voice, the hard edge in his tone was unmistakable. And it was making it difficult to answer...

"..."

"Kansetsu Kissu?"

"...ha..i"

Try as she might to stop it, the overwhelming embarrassment she felt from hearing those words was unbearable, and she tried to turn her head to avert his eyes, but was proved futile by Smith's hand still on her forehead.

"So it is true then..."

To her surprise, he simply let out a small laugh, then sighed.

“Mai, of all the things to be picky about....” He wasn’t angry, but he certainly wasn’t pleased either. “The only thing you had to fuss about was that?”

“De…mo-"

“No buts, that ‘s stupid and you know it. Dehydrating yourself till you pass out, just because you think you’d have kissed me had you drank from that bottle?”

Unlike the last time they talked like this, there was nothing to argue about, nor did she have the energy to do so. And he was right, it was stupid, as much as it pained her to admit it.

“Hontou ni baka ne…”

“Yes, you are stupid, silly girl…” he replied off-handedly.

“Gomena-“

She coughed hard as she spouted her apology, a dry, hoarse cough that caused her throat great pain. It was so bad Smith had to release her as she stood up, letting it all out. A long wheezing sound came out, before she finally calmed down.

“Here, have some water.” A concerned Smith offered, handing her the gallon bottle, now with only a quarter of the content.

She almost took it… then realized what it was, and her hand stopped halfway to the bottle.

“… I’m oka-“

“Don’t be stupid again Mai!” Smith interrupted. “You need to drink!”

“… Hontou ni daijobu…” she insisted, yet her voice was still coarse and strained.

“No you’re not alright. Why do you still refuse Mai? It’s just me and the bottle you know! Don’t be so picky!”

“Iyada…”

She refused again, gazing at the open bottle almost suspiciously, almost fearfully.

“So you won’t drink, no matter what?” Smith asked of her, the disappointment in his voice quite evident, a tone that caused her to worry, But still…

“No, it’s… alright…” she replied even as she nearly coughed out her last word. Defiant words, yet her head hung in shame, looking at the ground unable to look back at him.

“Then you leave me no choice.”

His cold threatening tone startled her, a very disturbing tone. A tone that sent a cold shiver down her spine.

“N-nani yo omae?” She asked of his intentions with all the bravado she could muster, but she shuddered as she stared at his eyes, uncertain of his thoughts. And in her weakened state, there would be nothing she could do to stop him.

“I’m not gonna mess around anymore Mai. Indirect kisses... what utter bullshit! If it’s all the same to you anyway-”

And with those words he took a swig from the bottle, grabbed her head with both hands and pressed his lips unto hers.

“…!...”

She gulped, accepting the cold water that was transferred from his mouth to hers. Her anxiety, her pain, her fears were washed away by the cool, refreshing liquid that passed to the rest of her body, driving out the heat and the discomfort.

And as fast as it began, Smith removed himself from her, wiping the cold water from his lips.

“I suppose you have no more qualms about drinking from my bottle from now on?” he asked nonchalantly, as he handed her the almost quarter full water bottle.

Yet she did not reply. Could not reply. All the startled Mai could do was take the bottle without question and quickly swallowed down the rest of the water till not a drop was left. Finally, after all she had gone through today she was completely quenched.

So why did she still feel thirsty?

Why do her lips feel so dry?

Why was her throat still unable to speak?

Why was she still sweating?

Why did she still feel so unbearably hot?

Why does she feel so light-headed and dizzy?

She already knew why.

“I’m still thirsty…”

“That was the last bottle though. I’m sorry.” Smith apologized dejectedly.

For the first time today, a faint smile formed on Mai’s lips…

“Remi no baka.”

…Before helping herself to a startled Smith’s lips. This was one thirst she didn't to quench just yet...

Wesson could only grin as he watched the scene before him from a distance. He looked over his shoulder to the blue haired female behind him.

“All’s well that ends well, right?”

The female stood up and sighed wistfully.

“Wish I could watch them for a little longer. So cute!”

“All thanks to you Julie-sempai.”

“You’re welcome Junior. Take care now!”

And right before his eyes Julie vanished into the night under the cover of Optic Hide, as he beamed with much pride while fiddling around with a black plastic water bottle with the name “Enna” written on it, a mischievious smile on his face.

And asides from losing her personal black plastic water bottle in a bush snag that sent it to the bottom of a deep crack ravine, the trip was for the most part uneventful, with her spirits undampened and intact.

It was two hours ago when it all started. With Mai having no water bottle of her own, Smith offered his own unopened gallon bottle to her, from which she drank with much gusto. Afterwards though, she had refused each and every offer to drink, stating that she wasn’t thirsty. Not even Wes could get her to drink, and she grew more irate every time she was offered to since.

What was it then he wondered? As much as he would like to think that this some sort of new unusual method of training Mai conceived to enhance the hike’s difficulty, she was clearly pushing it beyond her limits. Especially since Mai clearly needed more water than himself or Wes.

Why was she so upset? Was it something he said? Wes? Was it for the bottle she lost? Or maybe he chided her on this hike too often? Impatience to get to the chapel? What was it?

He thought hard as he took a swig out of the half-empty gallon water bottle he carried.

What was he missing?

‘Kansetsu Kissu…’

‘What was that Wes?’

‘Indirect Kissing.’

Smith’s drink nearly backed up his throat when he heard Wesson’s words in his head. He swallowed before replying:

‘What’s this about kisses Wes?!’

Even within telepathic communiqués, Smith could swear Wes was laughing his ass off from his reaction.

‘Sorry bro, it just occurred to me as you took that swig a while ago.’

Now his curiosity took over. ‘So what does that mean? Indirect kissing?’

‘It’s nothing too complicated. Just that when one shares the same piece of food or drank from the same container with another person, they can be said to have indirectly kissed.'

'Bullshit.'

What the heck kind of concept is that? Smith wondered. As far as he and Wesson were concerned, drink is drink and food is food meant to be shared by all, nothing more, nothing less. Smith never felt anything when sharing food or drink with anybody – in fact the thought never crossed his mind for once in his life until now.

But yet the more he thought about that very simple elementary concept, the more puzzled he became. Why did everything suddenly make sense? But he wasn’t ready to go jump to that conclusion just yet…

‘Surely you’re not suggesting Mai’s refusal to drink is because I drank out of this water bottle right?’ he asked Wesson incredulously, as if expecting him to say it was all a joke.

‘I am.’

It was not what he wanted to hear.

‘You know it’s beyond ridiculous right? To think she’d make herself suffer so much for such a petty thing?’ he asked, the tone in his voice growing ever more aghast. And yet… he couldn’t make himself discount the possibility. Even after all these years, Mai’s irrationality was something he still couldn’t quite handle. Her recklessness, her pride, her unpredictability when it came to those aspects of her that were beyond his knowledge. And yet for such a thing…

‘Yet Mai is Japanese.’

‘And what does that have to do with anything?!’

‘The concept is most prevalent to many young Japanese…’

‘And you believe Mai fits that stereotype?’

‘I believe so.’

‘But Mai drank from my bottle-‘

‘Only because she was the first to drink from it.’

There was nothing Smith could say that could argue with that fact. And only now with all the evidence in front of him was he willing to admit what he had not wanted to from the beginning.

Mai was capable of such a ridiculous thing.

And then he heard a loud thud behind him, like an object hitting the ground… like a person hitting the dirt… like…

“MAI!”

Orange sunlight woke her up from her slumber, the heat of the midday sun replaced by the cool afternoon breeze that blew on the grass she lay on, creating a gentle rustling that soothed her ears. The first thing she saw was the blue sky, now much darker in hue than the sky she remembered seeing. The throbbing pain in her leg was gone, though it still felt quite stiff. Her throat no longer felt dry, and she no longer felt sticky from sweat.

It was then she noticed her head was resting on something oddly comfortable, something warm...

"You awake already?"

And found Smith's upside-down face in front of her, gazing at her intently.

"Ano..."

She turned her head to look away, only to find his fingers on her cheek... and then realized that her head had been resting in between his cupped hands. She tried to get up, only to find his right hand on her forehead clamping her down.

“…Hanashite…” she softly pleaded for him to let go.

“No.”

“…”

The only thing she could do was stare at his eyes in confusion, with a serious edge to them she couldn't place.

"You're not going anywhere till you explain to me why you're being so stupid today."

Despite his low voice, the hard edge in his tone was unmistakable. And it was making it difficult to answer...

"..."

"Kansetsu Kissu?"

"...ha..i"

Try as she might to stop it, the overwhelming embarrassment she felt from hearing those words was unbearable, and she tried to turn her head to avert his eyes, but was proved futile by Smith's hand still on her forehead.

"So it is true then..."

To her surprise, he simply let out a small laugh, then sighed.

“Mai, of all the things to be picky about....” He wasn’t angry, but he certainly wasn’t pleased either. “The only thing you had to fuss about was that?”

“De…mo-"

“No buts, that ‘s stupid and you know it. Dehydrating yourself till you pass out, just because you think you’d have kissed me had you drank from that bottle?”

Unlike the last time they talked like this, there was nothing to argue about, nor did she have the energy to do so. And he was right, it was stupid, as much as it pained her to admit it.

“Hontou ni baka ne…”

“Yes, you are stupid, silly girl…” he replied off-handedly.

“Gomena-“

She coughed hard as she spouted her apology, a dry, hoarse cough that caused her throat great pain. It was so bad Smith had to release her as she stood up, letting it all out. A long wheezing sound came out, before she finally calmed down.

“Here, have some water.” A concerned Smith offered, handing her the gallon bottle, now with only a quarter of the content.

She almost took it… then realized what it was, and her hand stopped halfway to the bottle.

“… I’m oka-“

“Don’t be stupid again Mai!” Smith interrupted. “You need to drink!”

“… Hontou ni daijobu…” she insisted, yet her voice was still coarse and strained.

“No you’re not alright. Why do you still refuse Mai? It’s just me and the bottle you know! Don’t be so picky!”

“Iyada…”

She refused again, gazing at the open bottle almost suspiciously, almost fearfully.

“So you won’t drink, no matter what?” Smith asked of her, the disappointment in his voice quite evident, a tone that caused her to worry, But still…

“No, it’s… alright…” she replied even as she nearly coughed out her last word. Defiant words, yet her head hung in shame, looking at the ground unable to look back at him.

“Then you leave me no choice.”

His cold threatening tone startled her, a very disturbing tone. A tone that sent a cold shiver down her spine.

“N-nani yo omae?” She asked of his intentions with all the bravado she could muster, but she shuddered as she stared at his eyes, uncertain of his thoughts. And in her weakened state, there would be nothing she could do to stop him.

“I’m not gonna mess around anymore Mai. Indirect kisses... what utter bullshit! If it’s all the same to you anyway-”

And with those words he took a swig from the bottle, grabbed her head with both hands and pressed his lips unto hers.

“…!...”

She gulped, accepting the cold water that was transferred from his mouth to hers. Her anxiety, her pain, her fears were washed away by the cool, refreshing liquid that passed to the rest of her body, driving out the heat and the discomfort.

And as fast as it began, Smith removed himself from her, wiping the cold water from his lips.

“I suppose you have no more qualms about drinking from my bottle from now on?” he asked nonchalantly, as he handed her the almost quarter full water bottle.

Yet she did not reply. Could not reply. All the startled Mai could do was take the bottle without question and quickly swallowed down the rest of the water till not a drop was left. Finally, after all she had gone through today she was completely quenched.

So why did she still feel thirsty?

Why do her lips feel so dry?

Why was her throat still unable to speak?

Why was she still sweating?

Why did she still feel so unbearably hot?

Why does she feel so light-headed and dizzy?

She already knew why.

“I’m still thirsty…”

“That was the last bottle though. I’m sorry.” Smith apologized dejectedly.

For the first time today, a faint smile formed on Mai’s lips…

“Remi no baka.”

…Before helping herself to a startled Smith’s lips. This was one thirst she didn't to quench just yet...

Wesson could only grin as he watched the scene before him from a distance. He looked over his shoulder to the blue haired female behind him.

“All’s well that ends well, right?”

The female stood up and sighed wistfully.

“Wish I could watch them for a little longer. So cute!”

“All thanks to you Julie-sempai.”

“You’re welcome Junior. Take care now!”

And right before his eyes Julie vanished into the night under the cover of Optic Hide, as he beamed with much pride while fiddling around with a black plastic water bottle with the name “Enna” written on it, a mischievious smile on his face.

I defined Ki as a kind of linked mana that is acquired by years of special training, and hence how martial artists and anime samurai perform their muggle/Neutral-defying feats. OK the first part was a Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann ref. Spiral Energy is some... energy that you get from your DNA being in a spiral... And that it supposedly drives the impetus for evolution. We've basically brought it in jest at first, then Erio proposed something rather awesome.

Now, I've Rebuilt that theory into something that explains IS very well, and why it resembles magic, can be inherited and yet be immune to AMF. A cheap Applied Plebotium attempt, but saves me some loopholes from trying to use half-assed science. Perfect for the Kawaii no Mahou Shoujo Dan.

Second part is actually a ref to Hayate no Gotoku, when one of the characters tried to say "Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann" he gets interrupted by a bamboo vender blotting out what he wants to say. Which is the exact situation here.

Goose, your holier than thou attitude + a growing habit to rib me with your playbox while accusing me of only playing in mine is getting quite annoying. If I'm wrong about the latter, then it is the former that is really grinding. Like Reiji sometimes.

Sorry, but a proud Knight of Belka haets having his pride repeatedly rubbed in the ground. I don't mind it being in an in-metaverse joke, because its your world and it plays on who I really am IRL, but repeatedly taking it out to sling people with it is grating at best and really really bothersome at worst.

I think that's what clouded my judgement to spark a misguided yell to force a point between "ACTING UP !!!!!!" and not acting up.

The Rebuild of Uomo certainly features some nice (and quite flawless) integration of this combat cyborg into canon storyline. I thought she's a he, but I was proven wrong at the outset (it's the other way around). I like the trait about his deceptive capability, makes him a very efficient spy indeed .

I was wondering about the part where he gets personal growth from Subaru and Ginga, and then him doing infiltration that goes against these two. Wouldn't he be suffering from ... say, some sort of guilt? Being a double-faced member of both TSAB and NOD can be difficult most of the time.

His skills and spells are wonderful and certainly complement his role as spy and infiltrator and assassin . I personally think that if Kratos and/or Leona ever faces Uomo, an interesting battle of intelligence and counterintelligence is going to happen.

I was kind of worried that it might have led to Tesla being shafted in some scenes and that's kind of bad of me to do so <_<. Frankly, I have no idea how a tactician is supposed to function in frontline, except executing some moves that complement their allies', thereby boosting their battle prowess and chance of victory. All in all, the thinking cap managed that, somewhat, though I'm still feeling bad that Tesla isn't getting enough screen-time. Signum seems to be dwarfing Tesla in her shadow. Sorry. >_<

Mucho surprises indeed, especially Treize's condition. I didn't know the sleepiness and blur personality is a direct effect of her genes. Well, let's not get her grow up so fast .

And Koji's Heart Waver is a greater surprise, and an apt name for the skill. Guess Koji realizes that everyone likes him not because he's likable, but because of his power, and that's quite a blow to his psyche. The part on Relic #11, though, had me going , because it seems to go against canon. Then again, Jail might be conning Lutecia to believe that the Relic is needed to revive Alpino when it isn't really the case. :3

This is such a surprise. I thought I was reading about a person, but instead it turned out to be a profile of the world . You need updates!

Anyway, Planine certainly is an interesting world. It's medieval and modern at the same time, combining elements of both the Eastern and Western worlds. I like it that they use conventionals coupled with magic, especially when they launch bullets and arrows and magically amplify the speed for greater impact (reminds me of Lowe's Wizard Ring ), and it even allows them to circumvent TSAB's policies .

Very good thought in this.

Ah, Kou's partner-in-crime . Quite the antagonist of Kou's more explosive temper, but that's what make them click, no doubt . Cracking jokes in the middle of combat is a plus point for his carefree personality .

I see that this style focuses on speed and stealth, as compared to the power of the Belkan style. And Shin makes the first character to ever use a kusarigama, I think. Very good!

Ah, so this is why Kou is such a snappish and temperamental person. Dysfunctional family almost always has that kind of effect. But, I guess, if he wasn't in that kind of situation, he wouldn't have become the person he is today. That, plus he wouldn't meet the Whispering Death instructor if he's a happy little kid.

The school of Whispering Death being targeted as evil and slaughter-on-sight surprised me, but understandable. Assassins tend to get bad ratings even if they did a good job.

Kou's number of arrows is amusingly handwaivium (), but his spells are good and practical. One question though, what's the difference between Obstructing Fog and Concealing Haze? They sound and work similar effects to my understanding.

Ah, the Red Baron finally makes an appearance, and ... ANTAGONIST?! Oh dear, seems like Felix and company will be having their hands full handling him.

The history is rich and well-written, I certainly like the part where he retorts to his superior ("My dear Excellency, I have not gone to war to collect cheese and eggs ...") to get a reassignment, but his combat ability certainly shines during the battles he participated. His meeting with the Garm squadron is quite expected .

I'm surprised that being an antagonist, he's has a good sense of modicum and respect for his foes. Nice touch on him working with the lower classes despite being a higher-class.

The fated battle (if any) between him and the company is much anticipated.

Way I see it just like the forwards "ripped off" the Aces people will now start ripping off the forwards since they're bound to have become rather famous... it's the cycle of life or magical plagiarism at least. Plus having someone zipping around on motorized roller skates smashing people with a polearm is just too much fin to write about for me to pass up.

Yeah, yeah I should be finishing off chapter two of my fic, but banging out all these profiles this is so much more fun and easier to do...

Now, Izumi is a character that totally blew me away when I read her (and it's not her bust size, which is quite nonexistent in the character image ). She blew me away because she's so unexpected and at the same time computes. It's not everyday when you see characters whose specialty lies in driving, and even has a Device that helps her in that! The spells, though, are . She must be the absolute last boss in Need for Speed or some racing game, quite unbeatable .

I think the TSAB's public property compensation increases annually by many folds ...

I had a good amount of laughter reading Makoto, Kou, and Shin's mental conversation on what they learnt about Felix and Pixy's "brighter" nature . Very well done, there! Pixy has some honed housecleaning skills, there.

And poor Kou, working the larger portion of the assignment meant for the team.

Not much action going on in this chapter and not much Vita either, but hey let’s face it investigations aren’t really her thing so what are you gonna do? So what WAS she doing for most of this? Taking allot of naps perhaps? Fear not though she’ll be back to show off what she’s best at next chapter… indiscriminate destruction.

Felix of course is still around plenty being the main character and all and a couple of background guys of mine get some spotlight too mainly Atuwe and O’Neil who shows that yes he DOES do something besides nap in his office all day. Irene is around quite a bit too and her and Felix seem to get on rather well…

This chapter acutally ended up bigger then I expected and I even edited some scenes out that I felt didn’t really add allot to the plot and were holding up my progress. It was mostly some Vita/Pixy stuff and a bit of fluff about the Recon teams forming up which I admit in this final product feels a tad forced and rushed, but I was tired of this chapter and wanted to move on. I may write these up later as Sound Stages of a sort. (Probably not being the lazy bum I am)

When will the next chapter arrive you ask? Why when it’s done of coruse!

You deliver another amusing chapter that's filled with dry hilarity and sarcasm, and the closing isn't lacking them .

Felix seems to have inherited some of O'Neill's manipulative habits, seen in his ability to basically shove a reluctant Kou into line . I wonder who the "four" guys are ...

Felix certainly lives up to his reputation depicted in your current fic, being sarcastic whenever he can (which seems to be almost always). A good smattering of sarcasm always livens up the atmosphere . His juvenile record was a little unexpected, but I guess everyone does have a mean streak in their life at one point or another. Glad he found his path after all those years. The spells are as practical as the person is.

Pixy gives me a little bit of a creep initially, what with annihilating his enemies single-handedly. Even more terrible is his early years where he's somewhat of a mean terrorist. Luckily, he manages to see things in perspective and leaves his past behind, which no doubt leads to the improvement in his mood and attitude . Some habits die hard (he's still spoiling for a fight, it seems, and now taking Vita with him!), in any case, but at least he's much better than he was previously . Nice quote, by the way. Pending spell list just spoils this wonderful profile .

Rebecca is as good for an ECM as she is in looks (*ahem*). Her spell arrays are definitely designed to jam and confuse Device functions and spells, and that makes her an excellent support . Let's see if Kratos can learn a trick or two from her ... even if his field involves little in this area (he's more into detection, surveillance, illusion-breaking, counterintelligence, and hacking), but hey, improvements are always welcome.

I know, I know. He's seemingly way different from the cocky and confident Grandis that we all knew from the past. But I just had to do this. I felt something missing every time I reread Grandis' old profile. And I found out that 'I wanted to do something very different'. The old Grandis was likeable, sure. But there was a degenerancy with him that bugged me. Like with Aurion, I intend to completely break apart the common character mold and even some of the tropes in order to get a result as uniquely my own as possible! And so, Ohji Grandis came to be. How often does the non-hotblooded cool guy get the main girl? Don't worry, he's just more (MUCH more) refined now. The interactions with Hayate later on will still entail the same roguish flair. And I'd have to apologize in advance if anybody is planning or my have already written anything that involves an "Ore" Grandis. This is how he is now. And I intend to make him as likeable a character as possible! Oh. And making HayateXGrandis a success is a must too. ><

Comments? He's much, MUCH less HAXX now compared to the old version. Though I'm open to some more suggestions. Thanks in advance.

The spells are good and complements his fighting style (luckily there's no energy daggers and Bloody Rain ), but I don't really understand what Warding Swarm does. By "magical construct", does it mean things like barriers and the like, or things like devices, summoned creatures, etc.?

Jac at first sounds like a bloodthirsty berserker, but on further read, he's quite the composed rogue . And one-sided love is a torment indeed.

I don't particularly see the use of drugs in his combat style, actually. Ravage seems quite capable to bring out the best in him. The wind magic is certainly put to good use by Jac. And picture association with Grimmjow fits very well.

Gen Ealin is certainly one of the best written profiles (other than Katrina) ever. And it speaks of the darker side of the TSAB that's being exploited widely by us in the OC thread in a new light. The conflicts of attitude he suffered is a very good touch, especially since his involvement with the incident of the Book of Darkness and his finding out about the cover-up. The TSAB will have a tough time dealing with a rogue who knows of how they operate. Gen liking silence and nature is something I did not expect (I thought he'll be liking cold murder of TSAB members more ).

Avatar certainly is an interesting Device with the capability to store Mana like spell cards. And the spell list is certainly nice to boot. Nothing in the region of HAXX, as far as I can tell. Overall, an extremely good character. TSAB should look out for their rears being kicked, now.

By the way, he's not the leader of the Prize, right ...?

Her partnership with Jail and involvement with Alpino and Quint is meshed appropriately. Her parting smile for Lutecia does warm the heart, somewhat, despite the cool and deadly exterior she often exudes.

And I guess Katrina isn't forgiving to being referred with affectionate names .

My battle scripts are average, I think. It drains a lot of brain power to write them, and so production was stalled for a long time >_<. Guess a lot of us aren't set to write intense battle drama. Your short on Evangeline fits just nicely, so no need to be jealous.

And the fifth one being dead was actually mentioned indirectly several times in the course of the story, just that it isn't as specific. Let's see if anyone can spot it.
