Well, I've been listening to Gackt and Utada Hikaru a lot these days, so I'll say them. Oh yeah, the Pillows is also awesome, as well as Bump of Chicken, even though I've only heard one song from them (Karma, opening song of Tales of the Abyss).

My fav and fab Japanese rock band is Asian Kung - Fu Generation. You might have heard it off of Full Metal Alchemist the ending theme. That Song rocks. My fav Japanese pop is Amuro Namie, Utada Hikaru, Hamasaki Ayumi, Crystal Kay, Mori Fukai, and Nana Kitade.

GACKT!!!!!! I loved his work in Malice Mizer, and his current solo career isn't half bad. Also, his tone of voice is soothing, and not too high or low like some of my other favorites. (On the high side rides An Cafe.)

Not in particular order (and currently)

. Suga Shikao - he has a great voice and beautiful songs
. Do as Infinity - I really enjoy their music, one of my favourite J-Pop bands
. The Pillows - an original work and powerful musics! they are fantastic
. Bonnie Pink - one of the most beautiful japanese voices that I have heard

Yup...I don't listen to much J-pop, but I've listened to her album Sora No Koe more times than I can count- Pretty much whenever I need a peppy pick-me-up.
