This... I actually enjoyed. I think I'd have preferred the series a lot more of it was more like this and less like the contrived mess it turned into. The use of the insert song was just about perfect and the interactions, while not on par with the best of this genre, were rather charming and decent. I even lol'd at "That sure must be tough" "For which one?"

Can't say I'm going to miss this series, though. The characters never really managed to worm their way into my cold, blackened heart.

Lol! I laugh when Sae mentioned that Star pattern is better than Strawberry pattern. I didn't get it at first but when I did, I laugh

Towards the Dawning Sky

For those who don't know yet.....

The second DVD special is actually a prequel to the TV series happening just two nights before Yorito and Matsuri met with each other at the start of episode one.

Thus, we can think of this special as episode 0.

I really loved to see all the familiar faces of the main cast one more time and what were their personal lives shortly before the events of the mainstream TV series started to unfold.

It gave answers as to the sky ceiling in Yorito's room and from where he acquired his camera.

Takeshi and Mayuko barely arrived into the city.
1. Funny watching Takeshi messing up with the dart, then exploding on his face.
2. Disturbing that Mayuko got herself hypnotized of sorts looking at the shiny trashcan.

Koyori still a patient in the hospital along with Aono and still unable to address big sister with the proper honorifics.

Aono looking forward to her birthday, as long as Yorito is there.

It felt odd to me that the characters were shown separately and interacting between their groups. I mean Yorito, Aono, Koyori, and Mana on one side; Mayuko and Takeshi on another; Matsuri alone and by herself.

It also shows the many unsuccessful attempts by Matsuri to get the vending machine to deliver her bought products trying first punching, then kicking it with no results before she finally opted by tackling the thing as she does in the TV series.

Furthermore, I found beautiful the insert song played when Matsuri strolled in the city just moments before she met Yorito, but I feel saddened for her because she was all alone and with nobody to talk with.

Fortunately, the episode ends with her and Yorito meeting, and thus bringing the storyline of the series into full circle.

Thanks for watching sola. I know there won't be any new episodes, but thanks anyway for the beautiful story.

After watching, I realized how much I missed this anime.
It's nice seeing all the characters (most espescially Matsuri) in action again.
